verity, fantastic result on your distinction! How great to be doing what you want to and being good at it!!

OllieWollieWoo · 16/10/2010 13:44

LOL at the thought of Blossoming lost in Selfridges! Bloss - head for the champagne bar for a quick tipple - maybe one of the other meet up ladies will put a lost W&A call out over the tannoy for you! Halfway through the big wardrobe clearout btw - have a huge pile of stuff to try on before deciding to bin, keep, ebay etc! Quite enjoying myself!

Fritzi - I think I am a bit of a secret MB fan - don't own any CD's of his I hasten to add but always find myself singing along to him on the radio (Dutch love that easy listening style of music) and when I've seem him on TV he comes across as a really nice guy! Have fun! Yes its me thats looking for a short cord skirt but would like one in grey - nearest I've seen is this M&S one - but its not cord and I think 'midnight' generally refers to a dark blue colour - can't tell from the picture! here

Had a typical frustrating Dutch day today - needed to take some stuff back to a dept store (bit like John Lewis), went to what I thought was the refunds desk, was told I had to go to the departments where I brought the items from (womenswear and menswear - both on different floors) to be given a voucher which I could then bring back to the refunds desk to get cash back! How bloody old fashioned is that! Grrrr!

loobylu3 · 16/10/2010 13:58

Hope you all have a fun time lunching and shopping in London ladies.

I have been to football practice, for a walk and now having lunch with the DC and being pestered to make a chocolate cake!

Love the Louboutins! Love the patent red!

FritziGreenEyes · 16/10/2010 14:08

ollie grey cord here. Sold out in most sizes but they might get stock back in. Has a different cut to the M&S one though.

CHOOGIRL · 16/10/2010 14:11

Hi. On my way too

bloss Hix is up the spiral stairs reached from Ground Floor Am nervous too. Wearing giraffe print dress, jacket and CL shoes.

See you soon

OllieWollieWoo · 16/10/2010 14:13

Thats the dept store I was in earlier Fritzi - the one with the annoying refund policy!!!! Really sweet of you to track down one thats Dutch! Thanks for the link - right colour and material - just maybe a little on the long side. Will keep a look out tho to try on as there are lots of McGregor shops over here.

traceybath · 16/10/2010 14:25

Have fun meet-up ladies!

Well done Verity on distinction.

Oh dear, barn would be utterly fantastic and a real forever house. However lots and lots of interest and it only went on the market yesterday.

We need to do sums etc but I rashly promised DH I would buy no new clothes for 2 years if we bought it Shock Grin

DH off now doing race which we waved him off at.

Very much wish I was sipping champagne in Selfridges though. But doing sums for houses is actually quite fun for me.

OllieWollieWoo · 16/10/2010 14:31

Lots of cord skirts here - but knee length here

FritziGreenEyes · 16/10/2010 15:50

ollie I remembered the store from the last time I went to Amsterdam with DH when I was pregnant with DD. Really liked the things they had but their refund policy seems annoying.

Glaming myself up for MB. Will go by public transport and back by taxi so I can at least have a drink. Thing is that I'm a bit annoyed with my friend. She phoned yesterday and wants to bring her DS (4) to our dinnerparty in two weeks time. Told her that DD will be staying at her grandparents and no other children except a baby that needs to be BF will be there. Hope she got the hint and won't start again tonight.

AllBuggiedOut · 16/10/2010 17:27

That Kew cord skirt is a really weird fit - I'm usually a 10 and the 10 was super-clingy (in that nasty going in under your bottom kind of way), and the 12 was big enough for 2 of me! Such a shame as they are gorgeous soft fabric in lovely rich colours. I'm guessing this Gap one is too long for you oww?

blossoming · 16/10/2010 17:36

Phew I made the train! One minute I'm happily chatting and it's 3 pm, the next it's 4.15 and omg I have a train to catch! Cue running(?) down Oxford st, massive queues for tube got on the second, almost didn't make it off in time with large people in the way.
Had such a lovely time. Everyone as interesting and stylish and funny as you would imagine. And bunny got her afternoon tea! I felt very welcome and really glad I went. Could have stayed all afternoon, but fear I would have got very drunk indeed!!
Um, didn't actually purchase anything!
Roma, those trousers were atrocious on me but if it's any help I tried on the 8 (wearing 30 j brand). They were not very long. To the ankle, no ruching and I'm 5'7.

AllBuggiedOut · 16/10/2010 17:37

Not cord but I really like this Jigsaw moleskin skirt...

blossoming · 16/10/2010 18:02

I tried that skirt today abo. I used to have a similar one years back. A bit pricey I thought. They also fad a nice grey flannel one with visible side zip but £90 odd.

FritziGreenEyes · 16/10/2010 18:27

Blossoming glad to hear you had a great time. Kept thinking about the meet-up today. Waiting for my friend in bar now having a glass Prosecco Aperol. Wearing my favourite silver-grey wide-sleeved dress with grey opaques and smart black boots as it is raining. have added leopard print black and grey scarf and leather jacket for warmth and feel great! Glad I madexthe effort and looking forward to Mr Buble now. Hope everybody gets back safe from meet-up.

blossoming · 16/10/2010 18:30

Have fun fritzi. Your outfit sounds gorgeous.

notyummy · 16/10/2010 18:50

Ok. I am shamed. 4 glasses of wine and in my slightly tipsy rush for the train I didn't put any money in the kitty. Ladies please pm me or message me on fb and I will reimburse whoever picked up the bill for me. I had a lovely time. Blush

Fritzi Have a fab evening!

Bloss I have that Jigsaw skirt in red - I really like it. It was quite expensive for what it is now you mention it!

NY That is so funny! Maybe you thought you were in the mess?! Grin

It sounds like you all have had a lovely time in Hix. Smile

eshermummy · 16/10/2010 19:11

Aagh missed 18.30 train by minutes and so had to wander around Waterloo waiting for 19.00 . No doubt dh will be a bit marked when I get in but I don't care cox meet-up was such fun and i had such a great afternoon Grin
no shopping at all as spent entire afternoon quaffing vino with the w&a ladies but popped into monsoon to while away the minute at Waterloo and found myself liking quite a lot of things Shock maybe I am just drunk ? Can't link now as on iPhone but will attempt links later.
Cakey - they had a lot of lace items that looked good and a sequinned skirt that was reminiscent of the one you didn't buy from somewhere - All Saints ???

traceybath · 16/10/2010 19:21

I have been thinking of you ladies all pm. DH then came home from race and had forgotten the sacrifice I had made Shock I quickly reminded him Grin

Esher - I think its the wine making monsoon stuff look good Wink

Now have glass of wine and Strictly on.

Fel1x · 16/10/2010 19:22

Glad to hear meet up was lovely. I'm making carrot cake and eating chocolate raisins to console myself for not being able to be thereWink

Tracey barn sounds amazing

Fel1x good to see you hear again. Great shopping trip by the sounds of things, and buying books is something I really miss, not boring at all! Don't make enough time to read these days but do use the library a fair bit.

MarshaBrady · 16/10/2010 20:05

Verity I would love you to come to Christmas Smile. We are very much a more lovely people the better type family. (I do struggle when it's just us at home in UK, not enough people!).

Tracey, Barn sounds fantastic. How exciting!

Glad meet up was fantastic. I can see Bunny would be looking beautiful and pg.

I have had subtle, blonde, pale highlights at Aveda and am very happy with them. PLUS I was complimented in the loos (got to love the ol' compliment in the ladies' loos) re my VW boots (different to Fleecy's, from Liberty) by lovely looking Japanese girl. Which really made me Smile as I was starting to doubt my lovely dh's present after reaction on here to other ones Grin

I am also trying to overcome the mn to rl issue I have (now Bonsoir has invited me to get hair done in Paris, on other thread, my style hero!) and am working up to meeting you lot too Smile.

I know you are all fabulous....
