Notyummy - happy anniversary!!! Your DH sounds wonderful. Have a lovely evening!

Hf - mmm, Hermes. I don't have any, but some of their items are sublime. Belts, scarves, Kelly bags, Constance bags. The stuff my dreams are made of. Although someone on another thread recommended Delvaux handbags and I think I have found the handbags for me. I do remember walking past the shop in Brugges w DH and pointing out a bag that I liked. Only it was ?700 so I fled. Stupid me.

hf128219 · 15/10/2010 21:10

LTEC If you go to the wedding, which I assume you will, you will be full of mixed emotions. Your heart will sing and cry at the same time. In a good way (if that is possible) for what you have, but never forgetting what would have been.

MarshaBrady · 15/10/2010 21:15

I would love a Hermès scarf. And will do one day. Soon after I get my Chloé inspired hair style.

Fleecy I got these. Which are now little vestibules for London dirt and grime Grin. They haven't been my best shoe. Quite out there for me. But many liked them and dh bought them as a present. So all in all, I think yes you would look good in them but maybe see if there is anything else too.

Happy Anniversary NY. I missed it was your anniversary and thought wow that's pretty nice of your dh out of the blue! Smile

blossoming · 15/10/2010 21:27

ltec, it really is a horrible coincidence isn't it.

fleecy, I agree with ltec about the boots.

Good luck ( if that's the right thing) to tracey xnd the barn tomorrow.

Hope you have a nice weekend hf. Is your dh home?It must have been hard on you when your dd was born.

hf128219 · 15/10/2010 21:41

All the ladies, all the ladies have a fab time tomorrow!

Just watch out for the vino consumption, escalators, shoe hall and credit cards Grin

Bloss Dh is around (as such) but on exercise over the weekend.

notyummy · 15/10/2010 21:44

5 years today Bloss. 11 years together. Had a lovely meal!

FritziGreenEyes · 15/10/2010 22:18

fleecy The Louboutins are gorgeous!

I was so looking forward to having an early night and now I cannot wind down. Probably too much coffee and DD has temperature now so will probably wake up during the night anyway. Just glad it is the weekend although I am supposed to go to a M. Bublé concert with a friend tomorrow. Can't really remember when and why on earth I agreed to that!? Hmm

Have a fabulous time at Selfridges tomorrow ladies! Will await reports eagerly...

AllBuggiedOut · 15/10/2010 22:36

Evening all!

Belated happy birthday baby bloss. And so sorry you have such a difficult time ahead Sad. I thought of you today out shopping in fact - did the "original" blossoming top have short sleeves? If so, they've brought out a new version with 3/4 length. Only saw it in pale dusky pink, and M&S site down so can't link...

Loved all the birth pics, and I adore the ones of frazzled mothers with red wrinkled bubs as much as the rest Smile

That zara top is lovely yangy - have you bought it?

Like the Boden sweater dress too Roma.

Yay to first steps Dolce Smile

Hope your cloud passes soon carciofi

Tracey and Fleecy how goes the potty training? Tried with DS3 a couple of weeks back and he was having none of it Sad

Happy anniversary yummy. Fab bracelet!

LTEC how you are feeling isn't wrong, it's just the way it is Sad

Fleecy I can't help putting my sensible hat on when I look at your CL and VW dialemma - just because I know that I'd get so many more wears out of the boots!

And ladies have a fantastic time tomorrow!

Now, hit the RL shops today, and came home with the Carvella Ainsleys I've been coveting for a while, finally a chocolate brown cord skirt from Debenhams and a chunky skarf which I fondly imagine myself wearing as styled on the See sweater dress... Also bought a long jangly bronzy necklace. Aside from a pair of shorts, I think I have struck everything off my winter wish-list. Although haven't thought about party season yet Wink.

Apologies for mammoth post btw!

just got in from night out - most put out as my favourite burger van wasn't there so am having to settle for honey on toast at home. Hmph! Not the same...

I wanted to canvas shoe and boot opinions so I could potentially try on and buy tomorrow at the meet up. So will have to see! Near unanimous (sp?) for the shoes here then Grin Must see if I can locate and try on. I think I can walk in them, am generally fine with heels. No dancing though - have to kick them off for that!

Happy anniversary ny I also missed that and thought your DH was being ridiculously nice just because.

Romanarama · 16/10/2010 07:44

Tell all later about the meetup, and please let me know whether the BR trousers are good in real life and what the sizing's like. Have a lovely lunch all. I'm off to walk the doggy in Barbour parka and timberlands.

OllieWollieWoo · 16/10/2010 07:50

Morning. Hope you all have a lovely meet up later today - pleeeeeeaaaaasssssse post details later on!

Blossoming - hope DD had a lovely b-day and Happy Anniversary NY - lovely gift from DH.

Have given up any hope of trying read the posts from the last week so am starting afresh as from today!

Tracy - v funny re barn conversion/Grand Designs thing! Can you imagine?! In my former working life I used to see a lot of barn conversions - some were truely stunning.

Not much planned for the WE - usual market trip/swimming lesson with DSs today and a trip to a nice Apple Farm tomorrow if the rain stops. Still need to have a big wardrobe clear out as still have summer stuff hanging in there. Really want to have a good look at what I have and be ruthless esp after having colours done. Just haven't had a big block of time to do it without boys running in and wanting to help. Oh yes, its half term here next week so need to plan some activities to keep us all sane! Have a good weekend everyone.

blossoming · 16/10/2010 09:22

Hi ollie, I thought you'd been a bit MIA recently! I have loved sorting my wardrobe this week and I'm lucky to have a salvation army clothes bin on route to school. I've been ruthless! Love it.

Today I'm very cosy, but layered. I have my new light grey cashmere beret on my head (having a blow dry later!), a thin blouse with vest underneath, j brands tucked into riding boots, zara blazer, massive boden charcoal scarf, and my navy summer parka over the top. I had leather gloves on too. Later, my beret, coat and gloves will be stashed in my bag, and my sunglasses will be out!

Looking forward to browsing BR in particular, also selfridges which I normally avoid as being too big. Will also pop into Smythson to buy iPhone cover for dh, as a thanks for today.

I'm missing a IL event today. Dh's niece is 18, so they're heading there this afternoon. Dd had an injection yesterday afternoon but seems okay.

happilyeverafter · 16/10/2010 09:35

Have a lovely day meet up ladies!

I'm busy planning dd birthday and party. Rl to resume next week! Although haven't thought about my outfits for said events! Also have a charity do this coming Friday to dress for.

Lazy weekend here, visiting a friends new baby and starting the birthday baking - have a good one everybody.

notyummy · 16/10/2010 10:33

Have a good day all. Am on train to London- the big smoke; most exciting! Slightly jaded from anniversary celebrations, but nothing that a hair of the dog won't fix Grin

OP posts:
vinvinoveritas · 16/10/2010 11:15

Have a fantastic day today everyone, am rather Envy that verynearlyexP has made it impossible for me to go. Grr.

LTEC Sad If you go and if you drink champagne and toast, you toast your Star. It's not wrong of you to feel like you do, quite the opposite, there's no way I could have gone somewhere on the anniversary of DD's death and been smiley and happy but at the same time I wanted to do soemthing to remember her, so in a way it may be a good experience once you are there.. it's almost like it's 'her' place with all those connections, so she'll be there too

Sorry if that sounds a bit mad, that's just how I think of things

Another vote for the CLs!

fleecy thanks for asking I've done these exams now but I have more Hmm and a 10,000 word dissertation that I haven't yet started to do in November and I'm stupidly thinking of all these completely unrelated things I need to do (like maths, which I have to learn from scratch and be at sort of first yr degree level by the summer) so yeah, erm, aaaagh... fun fun! I'm secretly enjoying it because it's a great distraction from other stressful things

tracey in a caravan.. hahahahhahaa Grin

Romanarama · 16/10/2010 11:56

Love the sound of the outfit bloss. NY hope it was fun last night.

Am I too old to be like her do you think? DH said 'maybe not for the office' and vetoed £300 for HH leather shorts....

MarshaBrady · 16/10/2010 11:59

Sigh, I love the sartorialist. So many beautiful peole. She is stunning. You can do it Roman. Smile

VerityBrulee · 16/10/2010 12:11

So Envy of your meet up today, have a wonderful time Smile

VerityBrulee · 16/10/2010 12:34

BTW, I have taken to blowing kisses to drivers who are nice to me in traffic, inspired by someone Cake encountered a while back. Makes me smile and think of everyone here when I do it. This thread influences so much more than S&B Smile

I was trying so hard not to spend recently, but pining for a lace dress, I bought this from Zara. Wore it with long sleeve thermal vest(!), charcoal opaques, ankle boots and belted cashmere cardigan for my first college presentation yesterday, got a distinction for my project Grin

Cake love your Choo post!

Speaking of the sartorialist, am channelling this look today. It's cold and I am doing the usual weekend rounds of football/rugby/basketball/birthday parties. It seems like a lifetime away when saturdays were aboout lie-ins, newspapers, brunch and shoe shopping!

Hugs to Bloss, you are fantastic, and Carciofi take care of yourself. Try not to worry, and if like me, you want an elective CS after a traumatic birth, just insist on it. Really, you have a good reason to request it, my ob in the Rotunda was dead asgainst it, but I brought it up at every appointment and eventually he agreed. The recovery was a doddle.

Big wave to everyone, have a fab weekend.

PS NY Your dh is amazing, fantastic cakes and anniversary surprises Envy

And Marsha your christmas sounds so fantastic. I find the whole event(and planning it) so stressful, can I come with you?Wink

hellsbelles · 16/10/2010 12:52

too hungover to catch up now so will later (wrapped up in huge grey cashmere jumper which is making me feel marginally better).

Anyway dropping in to say - have a wonderful, wonderful time today.

eshermummy · 16/10/2010 12:52

Woo-hoo am on the train on the way to meet-up. Went for leather jacket so am a bit cold at present Hmm
dh made a bit of a fuss about some confirm call with 40 participants which is scheduled for the dd's bedtime so have said I will not stay for evening drinks which is a bit annoying as was looking forward to seeing cake et al but am lucky to have made it out at all ....
Looking forward to seeing what those of you that started early have already bought . Oh and meeting you all of course. Am ridiculously nervous! !

eshermummy · 16/10/2010 12:54

Conference call
Am on iPhone natch

FritziGreenEyes · 16/10/2010 13:29

Oh verity I'm very into blowing kisses to people too. In fact it is what DD and I do every day when I drop her off at kindergarten. Other kids have requested their parents to do it too. Some dads seem a bit embarrassed by it but I think it's lovely. Love your outfit and well done you, congrats on project! Thought I couldn't do lace but that dress is stunning.

hells Hope you get over your hangover soon.

roma That is a classy look. Go for it!

What was the barn like tracey? Are you putting together a capsule wardrobe for the caravan yet? Wink

Great shopping abo. Have a pair of shoes that is similar to your KGs from last year and have worn them with many things. So comfortable too! Wasn't ollie looking for a brown cord skirt too?

Decided that I will treat the concert tonight as an opportunity to dress up and make the most of it.

blossoming · 16/10/2010 13:29

Nervous too. And lost. That's why I don't normally do Selfridges. Hix is on ground floor by duke st.
