Like the sound of your birthday tea Dolcee! I dished up my beany soup yesterday at tea (see earlier in thread for receipe...) and DD clapped her hands and squealed 'Kidney beans mummy. My favourite!. DH muttered to me 'You know that's going to get her beaten to a pulp at school in later years, don't you?!' Grin

DolceeBanana · 04/10/2010 10:36

Right, notyummy, I am being a little dense here...talk me through the library scam thing again.....

DolceeBanana · 04/10/2010 10:38

I mean, do you actually get a hard copy of a book... which you own? For 20p...? Sorry, said I was being dense...

notyummy · 04/10/2010 10:41

Yes, you get a hard copy of the book. You don't own it - you are borrowing it from the library. Just like you would if you went in and chose it from the shelf. But using the internet system you can 'book' exactly the books you want and then they let you know when they arrive and keep them aside for you. You have then 2/3 months max to read said books and return them.

Thanks guys! Never knew you could do this!

notyummy · 04/10/2010 10:45

20p is a bargain isn't it? Can't help thinking it will probably rise when the Spending Review is announced and the County Council realises it has no money Hmm Think it is so low at the moment because Lincolnshire has v low average wage (like 13k per annum or something. We have a District that has officially the lowest average wages paid in England.)

I use my library like that too. Although I don't think I can do it online. Means I get to read books in hardback before they come out in paperback. I also live 45 mins from a bookshop!!

Baby just ate a great lunch! Leek and left over roast chicken in cheese sauce with pasta I'd bashed up before cooking a la Nigella.

This morning dc1 told me what birthday cake he wanted for my birthday tomorrow! Flourless chocolate cake. Didn't expect to be baking today!

Yesterday for chapel I tried out the Boden roll neck dress. Very pleased with it.

LetThemEatCake · 04/10/2010 12:15

Well I think I have!! But one pair too cheap for most of you, the other too ott on the studs Wink

But I think they're great Smile

LetThemEatCake · 04/10/2010 12:17

OK ladies

I have the following (all new) to give away:

  • Zara 'peg' ish trousers size 10, black, slightly cropped (with labels)

-Paige verdugo jeggings, light grey, size 27

-Citizens of Humanity Avedon skinny legging style jeans, black, size 28

Any takers let me know.. that's all I can remember the rest is in a box ready for ebay but can't be bothered Blush I will have a rummage and see what else there is, some new dresses etc

Hope you're all okay I have been a bit engrossed in thoughts of impending doom of career and exam failure, etc, and still haven't been shopping for ages Shock
Will be back on form soon

MarshaBrady · 04/10/2010 13:17

It looks great. Yes I've thought about Cos. Annoyingly they don't sell online. Haven't been in there.

Due to change in shape I am rejoicing my sentimental inability to discard my first designer purchases. N Miller dress and mini skirt from Italy. Size 8s and US 2s (from year in Boston, whizzing down Newbury St).

It is from 1996! Who knew they resurface after so long. What's the oldest thing people wear?

vinvinoveritas · 04/10/2010 13:20

LOVE that bag yangy!

blossoming · 04/10/2010 13:20

Some great offers on boots and coats here. Including at the top, two types of biker boot for you dolcee.

marsha, the oldest things in my wardrobe are flipflops! I am ruthless about clearing out!!

I was thinking the same this morning about bunnymother. She hasn't been around for ages has she? I hope she's okay.

notyummy · 04/10/2010 13:21

Vin - I would love the CIH jeans! They would def be worth another donation to Great Ormond Street! I am sure you are going to pass your exams and there will be no career doom.
