Like the sound of your birthday tea Dolcee! I dished up my beany soup yesterday at tea (see earlier in thread for receipe...) and DD clapped her hands and squealed 'Kidney beans mummy. My favourite!. DH muttered to me 'You know that's going to get her beaten to a pulp at school in later years, don't you?!'

I mean, do you actually get a hard copy of a book... which you own? For 20p...? Sorry, said I was being dense...

Yes, you get a hard copy of the book. You don't own it - you are borrowing it from the library. Just like you would if you went in and chose it from the shelf. But using the internet system you can 'book' exactly the books you want and then they let you know when they arrive and keep them aside for you. You have then 2/3 months max to read said books and return them.

We have a District that has officially the lowest average wages paid in England.)

I use my library like that too. Although I don't think I can do it online. Means I get to read books in hardback before they come out in paperback. I also live 45 mins from a bookshop!!

Baby just ate a great lunch! Leek and left over roast chicken in cheese sauce with pasta I'd bashed up before cooking a la Nigella.
