Think it was entelmann?? Dh and I used to live in Brixton and daily trips to tesco for jerk chicken and entelmann carrot cake... Ah those were the days..

blossoming · 30/09/2010 16:47

hells, could you send your boots back to Thomas Whylde for them to cobble them?
That's what I did when a heel came off some JCs.

Dress wise I'm a bit storm grey on top due to pre 40 crisis, but with red lips, jbrand skinnies, and (taking inspiration from Frye, thanks carciofi), some russell&bromley panama jack inspired cowboy boots. Waterproof too! But the stack heel means impractical for long outings outside. Oh and the cameron. But I was boiling. Heavy rain outside now though.

traceybath · 30/09/2010 16:48

Lovely boots everyone! I wish there was a my-wardrobe code as really want some black low heeled belstaffs.

Today I am wearing current/elliot skinnies tucked into black biker style boots. Cream chiffon blouse tucked into said jeans and white company poncho when out and about.

sorry yangy yes, we must be neighbours but think carci is SW.

I like Mrs Robinson, the back section at Amazing Grace, Chi Chi Ra Ra and sometimes Celestial. Charity shops, I often find little gems in St C's Hospice and the RC shop at Forest Hill. Herne Hill also good (Oxfam) - have found some great stuff in there recently inc LK Bennett wool pencil skirt for £4.00 or something and 100% cashmere s/s sweater for £3.99

Ed does my head in a bit, too much 'stuff', I get frazzled!!

Can't go past Hope & greenwood without buying just one bitter raspberry truffle ...

am sure we must have crossed paths!!

notyummy · 30/09/2010 17:26

entelmanns - that was it!
Carrot cake and apple pie IIRC.

Yum....

Grace and Favour, not amazing grace Blush

Fleecy · 30/09/2010 17:51

I have been in to see a client today so on the smart side, wearing my new dress over black leggings with tan plaited belt knotted around my waist with the end hanging down (you know what I mean!), chocolate round-toe courts with wooden sole and heel, oak Mulberry Somerset tote and camel knee length coat that I bought 10yrs ago from (please don't kick me off the thread) Bay Trading Blush and cut the label out. Was £50 and I'd never quite got round to throwing it away because I always figured it would come back into fashion and it looks much more expensive than it is!

I love those boots yangy so very glad you bought them. They are fabulous.

There are lots of people absent at the minute aren't there? Think vin is in the middle of exams.

Bitter raspberry truffle sounds delicious.

I am having fish pie for dinner tonight. Proper comfort food because it's so grey outside. Sadly, think the time has come to pack away the summer gear and fully unpack my winter stuff. Boo!

carciofi where do you get all your codes from? Have you signed up to a fantastic clothing code site?

notyummy · 30/09/2010 18:39

Fleecy - that dress is a bargain! I am sure it looks great on you.

hellsbelles · 30/09/2010 19:08

wow - you all sound beautiful today. I'm rather boring...grey twelfth street soft jumper, grey skinnies and burgandy boots (h by hudson)...bit of a mish mash.

LTEC - love love love the boots. Will see how my 2 pairs are (I promise I will only keep one no matter if they are both perfect!) but very tempted by yours.

Yang - those look fab too.

Bloss great idea - I should try that.

I did a Plum today...went into Space NK and tried on a red lipstick. Found the perfect bluey red - and of course they were out of stock (hate how they leave the testers out)...however I kept the lipstick on and it did make me feel (good) different.

Right - DS has so much homework tonight and somehow I must inspire him to finish it - urghh.

carciofi · 30/09/2010 19:45

I actually thought of the cakes too. Grin

Yangy, I am in SW London. I sent you an email.

Fleecy, the dress is lovely and I am envious of the Somerset tote. I sign up to every website I ever buy from and they send me the codes.

Got to get dd into bed so I can flop in front of Nigella.

MarshaBrady · 30/09/2010 19:52

I too adore what you are all wearing. Really impressive and lovely.

I read each post and find I think geez I want to wear that..

Fleecy · 30/09/2010 20:30

marsha glad it's not just me that does that. I often find myself wondering what I've got in my wardrobe to recreate something close to someone else's outfit or link. It must mean we all have excellent taste Grin

Thanks carciofi and ny it was indeed a bargain as was the £16 blue top zembo and I got. The Mulberry was my 30th and 31st combined birthday present from DH. Took me that long to decide what to buy!

hf128219 · 30/09/2010 20:41

Some fab boots being linked to!

Fleecy Was tempted by that dress too. What's the fabric like? I know it says jersey-linen but does it crush? Thanks!

Ducks and runs!

Fleecy · 30/09/2010 20:44

I've been wearing it all day and it's a tiny weeny bit wrinkled but hardly at all. A nice neutral basic for this winter I think.

I don't understand why they make a dress sheer though? I layer the tops so it doesn't really matter and can look lovely but why make a dress you can't wear without leggings or a slip. Strange. But I have a short black slip so it doesn't matter.

LetThemEatCake · 30/09/2010 20:44

right then you lot with your excellent taste, my hummingbird maxi will not be ready for Sat night Sad but [happy] as they have had to take it in by 4 inches Shock

so .. what do I wear to dinner here for a dear friend's farewell, given also that I will be single woman for the night (dh away Sad)

realise the maxi would have been OTT but never knowingly underdressed and all that

(I just know that if I posted this elsewhere I would get told "jeans and nice top". Nowt wrong with jeans and nice top, but y'know...

Fleecy · 30/09/2010 20:45

Having said that, I always moan when I get a dress with a slip attached, remove it and just wear my own under.

There's no pleasing some people Grin

Fleecy · 30/09/2010 20:50

ltec what about the black rats?

Fleecy · 30/09/2010 20:50

with a top obviously! You can so easily dress them down or up.

MarshaBrady · 30/09/2010 20:51

Wear those Maternity Choos. Go on! You'll love them Grin

Fleecy · 30/09/2010 20:52

Or that strapless snakeskin dress but dressed down with flats and a cardi?

MarshaBrady · 30/09/2010 20:53

Or the Chloe backless dress (channels memory for ltec's wardrobe)

hf128219 · 30/09/2010 20:53

Fleecy Thanks for that.

LTEC Yes, the rats could be a goer.

traceybath · 30/09/2010 20:55

LTEC - snakeskin dress, black leather jacket and new boots Grin
