Lovely comfortable day dress

I would like a really soft, comfortable dress that I could wear fairly smartly to work, or that would also be nice to just sling on with boots for weekends. I'd like it to be knee length or just over (and am a short arse) and have a scoop or v neck that is okay for norks.

Please help.

Preferably plain rather than patterned. Maybe grey? Or navy?

I've got one- i think you have to use it in store though. Give me your email and I'll send it you.

Ooh, I bought the breton tunic from Boden and it's great! Am wearing it today, actually Smile. I'm 5'3" and it comes just above my knee. Maybe something like this would be good?

Doodleydoo · 11/09/2010 18:34

Belligerent what about this -saw it earlier but I am 5.7 so a little bit shorter on me - good with leggings and thick tights?

picture doesn't do justice but comfy and cosy!

OooohWhatIfItHurts · 11/09/2010 18:38

The second Kew dress sits just on my knee, Belligerent and I'm only 5 ft 1 (and a half Wink)!

BelligerentGhoul · 11/09/2010 18:38

Boden one is too high necked for me but thanks anyway, Suzy.

Not fond of the Fat Face one, sorry.

I'm after jersey or cotton, rather than one that looks like a jumper iykwim.

I have this one and it is great, nice heavy jersey.

tethersend · 11/09/2010 18:42

Done.

moragbellingham · 11/09/2010 18:46

The M&S one is nice on.

They should get some different colours in for winter as that grey one has been on sale for months and is not as thick as last years.

here (in black)

tethersend · 11/09/2010 18:55

massive bargain

BelligerentGhoul · 11/09/2010 18:56

Topshop thing doesn't work, even when I copy and paste.

La Redoute no good, as I want to get it in store. Since I can be anything from an 8 to a 14 depending on the shop and the style, online is no good for me.

Did you get the gap code ok?

tethersend · 11/09/2010 19:05

Fuck knows what's going on with the topshop link

tethersend · 11/09/2010 19:18

Gah. The email just bounced back... is it the right address?

BelligerentGhoul · 11/09/2010 19:28

Yep that's the right email address. However, I haven't used it since goodness only knows when. Do email accounts die?

OP posts:
tethersend · 11/09/2010 19:32

Oh yeah- I think hotmail accounts die after 30 days inactivity

brownmia · 11/09/2010 19:34

Can second Squeavers Gap dress - got it yesterday too and wore it last night. For short arses sits just on knee. WEM def not bf compatible, buttons are purely decorative. And with Gap discount a bargain to boot...

cyteen · 11/09/2010 19:35

I know you said not patterned, but I have this one in brown and it is everything you've asked for: confortable, smart enough for work, flattering and just above the knee (I'm 5'4"). And stunningly cheap too.

BelligerentGhoul · 11/09/2010 19:35

Agh - how can I get Gap discount if email is dead? My other email addie is my name, so I don't want to post that.

Polkadot one is cute but a bit too fitted for what I'm after.
