Great bargains Everything!

Sounds like loads of fun as well. What a shame you had to leave when Jazzy B was on - does he still have that stick?!

And well done on the fashionista compliment.

traceybath · 16/08/2010 12:35

NY - so did you wear a belt with top and maxi skirt or just had top over the skirt? I bought a maxi skirt a while back and haven't worn it yet.

But was just thinking it would probably work for autumn with some black biker boots and a denim jacket - just unsure as to what top to put with it really.

EIE - sounds like a fab time had and brilliant purchases.

notyummy · 16/08/2010 12:37

Tracey - no belt. Top is very fitted so no need IFYSWIM.

I tried it on with boots and thought it looked good.

Everything - Goodwood looked amazing - loved all your FB pics. Do you think it will be annual thing? Would love to go. Get you conversing with Daisy Lowe too! Fab celeb spot!

Am so over the school run thing already - did the lunchtime pick up and drop off and now its almost time for the 3pm pick up!

bunnymother · 16/08/2010 13:32

Everything - I also looked at your FB photos and thought it looked like such fun!

notyummy - well done on being both stylish and so hospitable w your guests - you know you have thrown a great party when you can't get people to leave! That meringue cake looks so soo good.

MM - yes, I would not describe a twin pregnancy as comfortable (or even dignified - won't lower the tone by going into details, but as a mother, am sure you remember some of the mortifying things that go w pregnancy). Unfort I don't like being pregnant (although am apparently even more desirable, according to both seemingly blind and long suffering DH), and am looking forward to retiring from the gestational game! Haven't spent that much on maternity gear, but thinking I haven't put on a much as last time so far (prob due to chasing active DD around) so had to buy more TopShop Baxters as fit better than the TopShop Marthas. Bet you are looking forward to enjoying wearing your lovely maternity gear again, and enjoying being pregnant - the tummy rubs as you feel your little one/s move etc. Quite a special time.

Tortoise bath? How funny!

bunnymother · 16/08/2010 13:33

Oops, I mean "I haven't put on as much weight". Although am no doubt will give the scales a good nudge between now and when the babies arrive.

FritziGreenEyes · 16/08/2010 14:21

Back from the doctors and I'm wearing an aircast now. Very stylish Grin. We'll have a big do next Saturday and I intend to wear gorgeous dress no matter what.

bunnymother · 16/08/2010 14:28

Oh no fritzi! Maxi dress?

FritziGreenEyes · 16/08/2010 14:59

everything - Your weekend sounds great. Love your bargains! Did your DH like his jacket?

OWW - Your school run sounds stressful. Decided to have a quiet afternoon with DD and make some popcorn later.

bunny - I can imagine that twin pregnancy must be uncomfortable. Bet you look great though. Listen to your DH Smile. Think I will wear a short dress for a more dramatic look.

We have booked trip to London for end of September and I have already started a shopping list and plan for all the shops I want to go to. I love lists so much it sometimes worries me a bit Hmm.

traceybath · 16/08/2010 15:24

What do you all think of this - am quite liking it I think.

Practical too.

Librashavinganotherbiscuit · 16/08/2010 16:15

tracey I like it but have to admit my first thought was traffic cop, think it's all the zips.

fritzi hope the aircast isn't too uncomfortable. I love lists, in fact the only downside to my new phone on which I now can make lists is that I can't have that satisfying feeling of crossing things off (I have been known to write things I have already done on a list just so I can cross off)

notyummy sounds like a great party.

bunny can't imagine what it is like to have 4 feet kicking at you!

everything sounds like you picked up some gorgeous bargains.

Lovely day here, but still in unstylish gym gear from this morning, got lots of paperwork done and in strange twist might be entitled to more maternity allowance than I currently earn a week Hmm

Update on the GAP suede wedges - a FANTASTIC customer service lady kept a pair for me, despite me not getting round to ringing them on Friday so hopefully they are in the post as we speak. Thats 4 pairs of boots/shoes in under a week. I hope DH isn't reading this (if he is THEY ARE ALL BARGAINS ahem). Cross fingers the heel isn't too high...

Off to make raspberry and passionfruit jam..

OllieWollieWoo · 16/08/2010 17:00

I quite like jacket Tracey - sort of thing you need to see on tho.
Fritzi - bad luck re cast but hope it heals quicker this way. I too am a list maker - and even have a fab To Do notebook that has lots of little boxes ready for ticks alongside the lines! There is something v satisfying about ticking off a list!

Me and DSs are all shattered after first day back - DS2 now in the middle of a complete meltdown over eating a banana! Early nights all round.

Fel1x · 16/08/2010 17:01

Afternoon,
Just popping on for a quick read while DH takes boys to shop for bread and milk.
Am going to catch up on links in a mo!

Fritzi - what a pain re the cast. You will have to wear a real glitzy dress to divert attention away from it on Sat Grin

Everything - Goodwood sounds fab and you got some great bargains. Loved the pics on FB

I started cambridge diet yesterday. Stuck to it so far, but am currently starving!! so will see how it goes in another couple of days. Apparently the first 2-3 days are the worst for feeling hgungry as your body gets used to the change. What I would give for a large portion of chip shop chips right now mmmmmmmm Envy

LetThemEatCake · 16/08/2010 17:06

afternoon ladies

everything Goodwood looks amazing, as did you. Love the sound of your purchases

MM hope you had a fabuloso birthday, am so pleased that you got your jacket!

Fritzi poor you, your foot! Can't help but think that you deserved that lovely-sounding coat.

OWW can't believe you're back in full school-run swing ... I've got 3 weeks of hols left. Sounds like you were very organised though.

things here seem to have become busier, i think in part bc dc3 is no v.mobile and needs near-constant vigilance. Will try for a quick re-cap of the (fashion) week

meeting last week went well, wore Leona Edmiston dress and Bloch pumps. Managed a quick trip to Westfield afterwards, not long enough to be worthwhile but a scout around Zara. Saw lovely navy coat but button was missing on first I picked up and then one fell off the 2nd I found. Not great quality, as tracey said the other week. Only £100 but for that amount I want a bit better than that.

Also saw and tried various fur gilets and have decided that this is a look I can and will pull off!! Not too muppety at all Grin

Only bought a long sleeve cotton knit, black, with sequin embellishment on one shoulder, reduced to £5.99 from £25.99, looks good with grey skinnies

went to a friend's 40th on Friday night, she and her partner of 22 years had wed in secret a few days earlier so was a lovely double celebration. Wore the Maje snakeskin and leather biker as per July meet up.

In a stroke of fashion fortune, the Tibi hummingbird maxi came back into stock due to a return and the wonderful people at Question Air phoned me and sent it to my nearest store. It's beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. We are going to a wedding end sept so will wear to that but will prob try to invent an occasion to wear it before that.

Wallis order also arrived and am deffo keeping this navy dress as it looks good on and makes me feel super-svelte as I got a 10 and it is a smidge too big . Polyester yes, but I can live with that.

also keeping these bikini botts and the matching top.

and this zebra dress didn't even make it out of the wrapping - a very odd colour indeed, not worth trying on. They call it rust but there's a good splodge of verdigris in there too.

Went camping on the weekend with friends and their 1 year old, plus our 3 dc - was fun although nowhere near as relaxing as the camping trips we used to go on!! nothing of any sartorial import to note, quelle surprise, although I did see one girl wandering the campsite in paques, a sweater dress and heeled over-knee boots. Credit to her Grin

traceybath · 16/08/2010 17:31

LTEC - yeay for the maxi - it is gorgeous!

Right - fur gilets. My conclusion is for the look to work on me - it has to not be too fluffy/bulky. Which ones did you try on?

I quite like this type which they had in topshop last year I think. May order the age 12-13 as should fit me.

Have ordered the barbour jacket as saw someone wearing one last week and it looked really nice and practical to boot.

Probably won't be any good but we'll see Smile

Zembo · 16/08/2010 19:17

Just popping in to say hello Smile

I'm on the ultimate diet - it's ramadan and I'm fasting (no food or drink) between 4am and 8.40pm every day (although days getting shorter). Actually finding it fairly easy going but in reality no good for losing weight (not that I want to lose any at the mo) I'm usually very much a grazer so always surprises me that I can actually fast Grin

Cake you definetly look like a size 8 (or 9 at a push) now, perhaps the reason size 10 clothing's feeling big Grin - so pleased you got that gorgeous maxi. You will be the belle of the ball, no contest.

Like the jacket Tracey

Right off to think about food Grin

FritziGreenEyes · 16/08/2010 20:28

Round of applause for great customer service! So happy for you libra and cake. That dress is so gorgeous. Please take it on holiday and wear it as often as you can. Smile

Had put gilet on my A/W wishlist and think I can wear it well as anything that adds bulk to my top half is good.

Hi Zembo. Best wishes for Ramadan!

Fel1x - Could you have a nice hot drink or maybe a cup of vegetable stock to keep hunger at bay? Or maybe a long bath to distract you from visions of chips?

monkeysmama · 16/08/2010 21:43

Damn - just lost long post.

To recap quickly - got lovely bits in Zara including a lovely zebra shirt. These Topshop clogs had their debut at the weekend with the asos houlilikies. Were a bit uncomfy by end of evening but got lots of compliments. Would you wear over or under trousers?

Am waiting for the right occasion to wear my beloved leather jacket.

Libra what are the Gap boots like heel wise? I've seen these but me and next have ishoos.

Ramadan Mubarak Zembo.

CHOOGIRL · 16/08/2010 21:51

Hi everyone

Brief post from me as panic is setting in. Go on holiday Saturday and not sorted my wardrobe. Out almost everynight this week so need to go upstairs and start to make my list.

Everything Goodwood looked great fun. If they do it next year I may persuade my friends to "Glamp".

Anyone else watch Britain's Next Top Model? - jeez those judges are harsh.

LetThemEatCake · 16/08/2010 22:03

just a quickie - how many of you have that 'wardrobe staple' - the classic white shirt?

I've never had one and am wondering whether I ought to.

monkeysmama · 16/08/2010 22:57

I love mine Cakey. With jeans it's effortlessly chic imo.

Fleecy · 16/08/2010 23:04

Also a fan of a good white shirt. So easy with jeans and heels or black trousers and leopard print scarf.

Are we any closer to arranging the meet up? tracey you keep mentioning it but not sure it's fixed? Can I please vote for 16th as I have plans for 9th?

choo have good hols. Am sure you will look fab and your outfits always sound amazing.

OWW bet your boys are sleeping well tonight!

Not much to report here, shopping wise. Khaki tulip skirt for work, that's about it.

Who was it who linked to the DM camel article? I had the DP £26 military tunic but in khaki. Size 10 too big so reordered in an 8 but it's tight on the arms and digs into my armpits so that's no good either. Guess I'm also a 9 cake! Glad you got your dress - yay!

Thanks for the Ramzan wishes Fritzi and MM (v impressed with the Ramadan Mubarak!)

I bought a white shirt from Comptoir sale recently. Never really had one before. Shape is lovely but a bugger to iron. I did get told I looked 'expensive' when I wore it to work, so worth it I guess Smile. I still haven't found the perfect jeans to wear with it though, so must work on that this A/W.

It's naff weather here today, hope it's sunnier where you are ladies.

traceybath · 17/08/2010 06:52

16th fine with me - Hells can you do that? In fact where are you Hells?

LTEC - I have a couple of white shirts as like them with jeans.

Zembo - golly - how do you cope with no drinking at all - do you not get terribly thirsty - apologies for ignorant question.
