what kind of a bloody colour is mouse? everytime I read it I think of something running over my feet!! its ridiculous!!

NomDePlume · 30/07/2010 19:28

I think it's grey

purplepeony · 30/07/2010 19:32

kittya- no it's not the silk pleated top it's cotton and cashmere.

I always think I have enough tops then when I remind myself that "winter" lasts almost 9 months, I realise I haven't.

Not sick of the dust bags as only have one, but am sick of all the tissue they use to pack- can't see it makes any difference to creasing in transit- but I bet it adds £5 to the price of items!

Spangly cardi- checked the length and it's just 18 inches- really cropped- have 2 cropped cash. already so might try the rosette cardi instead.

I have the Pea Coat in mouse and it's what I'd call mink, or even dark mushroom. A beigy-brown with a hint of pink if that makes sense.

This week, I got two for shoes, one for a bracelet, two for two large bags, one for a bloody cardi! I wouldnt mind if they were even nice or if they at least changed the pattern. I dont use the except for knickers when on holiday!!!

SerendipityAlways · 30/07/2010 20:05

So am sending back the following A/W items

Applique dress in aubergine - comes up very short and I am average height, also very small fitting

Wool jersey dress - hideous, came creased and creases will not iron out, poor baggy shape, designed for someone with a bust, not figure flattering at all! Thin fabric

Ribbon trim cardi in teal - very thin , could not be worn in cold weather, also comes up big, you would need to size down. Too big under the arms and across the bust for me

Silver cropped cardi - too small! you would need to size up, and just too short for A/W wear

Empire line tunic - too big across the bust and not at all figure flattering, clung in all the wrong places and too short to be worn with just opaque tights alone. Also the fabric had a curious worn out look to it already

Am keeping the uptown top in teal, gorgeous stretchy jersey material, very comfy and a good length to past your hip (Would have loved this in more plain colour ways)

2 woven front jersey shirts - again great stretchy comfy fabric and a versatile top for any day, lovely colours

Not sure about the chic wrap cardi - trying to work out how I will wear it, but have to say its a good quality cotton/wool mix

Tan/leopard skinny type belt - gorgeous and will get lots of wear out of this

I will be exchanging for the straightleg wool crops and copenhagen tunic. Amazed with the inconsistencies in sizing generally as I'm a standard size 10 and half the items were not to the correct size!!

hattymattie · 30/07/2010 20:14

Oooh - thank you Tracey that code does work - I'd better get that order in quick before they're on to me again!!!

hattymattie · 30/07/2010 20:19

By the way I don't think their quality is what it used to be looking at the quantity of things going back and some of the things I've received recently. I'm still going to gamble on the printed cord dress though.

bodeniiiiites · 30/07/2010 20:28

damn mumsnet style and beauty especially Boden topics dont know how many times ive reregistered because of it .... i only ordered one thing and i am keeping it but maybe have to swap 10 for 12 funky flower pattern skirt folk skirt or something .An earlier mumsnetter said it was horrible but i like it. It doesnt actually say it is cord and i like lurid Pink lining that 15% code is brilliant thanks i could go mad if i only had the cash

purplepeony · 30/07/2010 20:34

Serendipity- what size did you get in the skinny belt if you are a 10?

Agree about Uptown top- got same colour. Wish they did it in pale grey too.

As stated previously I ordered the Copenhagen tunics as I thought they looked lovely .The cut is nice but the fabric is soooo thin I was worried I might tear it when I tried them on!Fabric pattern looks strangely dated as well.I really do not know how they can call this Autumn /Winter wear.
I ordered two of the Merino tunics in the sale(£23.50) and they are much thicker and much better quality .
I rummaged in my wardrobe and found ahem 2 unworn dresses I bought for £20 each in a townhall sale 2 years ago.Very similar shape to the Copenhagen tunic but the quality is vastly superior.
I am very happy with the quality and cut of the pleated front top and have ordered another. Feel that Boden is a bit hit or miss atm which is a shame.I have some Boden stuff from ages ago that is still going strong and kids stuff that has been worn by 2 DCs and is now working its way through 4 cousins .

SerendipityAlways · 30/07/2010 21:56

Purplep - I got a medium in the belt which is a perfect fit for me. (Have the same belt from the sale in silver in a small which was too small for trousers but will do for around cardis etc) Have to say the belts are super quality.

tulpe · 30/07/2010 22:41

Anyone ordered the Washed Velvet Coat? Am looking for a new winter coat and think that might be the one

purplepeony · 30/07/2010 23:10

Velvet coat- no, BUT I have the velvet pea Coat ( jacket) and I do have a velvet coat from White Stuff that is very similar to the Boden coat.

All I would say is they are NOT warm- I wear mine as autumn wear and have a wool coat from Boden that I wear when it's colder weather.

I got the Longer V-Neck Jumper in purple.Very nice, definately longer length than previous v-necks,thicker than usual v-neck too, accidently ordered it twice,so sending one back and going to get a stripy one.Thought the leggings were lovely, good quality,I wear them under skirts in Winter, hate tights! The Favourite Cropped Cardigan in silver, have two of the round-necked ones from Summer, and wear them loads,v-neck even more flattering on my boobs,I find these great value.I like the Chic Wrapped Cardigan, because I am large of nork,34G,I prefer that it is cotton, was afraid it would be "chunky knit",which doesn't flatter big boobs.I like it,think I'll get plenty of wear from it.Bought the socks for the first time, love them! Cosy, cute and comfy! Going to get the Pleated Scoop Neck jumper, and the Sporty Scoop Neck jumper, think I am over the dresses, might see something for Christmas nights out later.Going to try the wool crops too, along with everyone else,LOL!

tulpe · 31/07/2010 09:50

Purplepeony - thanks for the heads up on the coat. I thought it looked really cosy for a winter coat but as I cannot stand being cold perhaps I need to rethink

FrauleinAnnaO · 31/07/2010 11:04

I'm very pleased with the cosmopolitan tee and drapey one. The crew neck tops are a fair buy with the discount.

I have the velvet coat. I love it but it's definitely an Autumn coat. There's enough room for a few layers though.

Waiting for the rest of my order...

Northernlurker · 31/07/2010 18:44

last night dh announced that he thought it was time I had some clothes from Boden for myself. I have been buying the dcs stuff for ages but never myself. Therefore he said he has ordered me two tops as a surprise - 1 for now and one for Christmas. He won't say which tops........ I suspect they may be the cosmopolitan tee and the drapey jersey one so it's good to read you like them fraulein. Very excited He is pretty good at picking stuff and of course I can change anything.

PDR · 31/07/2010 19:29

What a lovely DH

If only my DH was so kind.... but then I do not seem to need help in the Boden ordering department

bodeniiiiites · 31/07/2010 20:34

oh but my dh is just as kind...he just doesnt know it

dexter73 · 01/08/2010 18:43

I ordered the sporty scoop neck in navy which is a keeper and the printed velvet mini in green which is very nice and dh thought was good too.
Also ordered the spotty book bag in navy but am sending it back as I have just bought a fab bag from Desigual.

Cabatach · 01/08/2010 23:08

I am keeping the favourite cropped cardi in silver (size up!), drapey jersey top ( a bit on the thin side but will still be v handy) and casual dress in green cord (fab!). Sending back the pop spot shopper (love the size but overall is not anything special and bought the silver shopper in the sale - DH also said it was yucky and I have too many Boden bags anyway and would finally be embarassed to appear with yet another one! )

Also keeping the pop spot wallet but bought as a Xmas present for a friend. Noticed that the wallet and bag did not come in dust bags - is the pop spot range second class, eh Johnny?!!

kittya · 02/08/2010 08:28

And I got too many dustbags even for that silver cheap looking wallet that was mega reduced!! Is the casual dress for skinny minnies? I do like the look of it.

Cabatach · 02/08/2010 09:45

The dress is not just for skinnies! I'm a size 12 (just got back from holiday as well!) and it fitted fine. Room for a skinny tee shirt underneath too.

polyhymnia · 02/08/2010 10:34

Anyone larger than Size 12 who has it and likes it? I do fancy it but am afraid it will be unflattering/ too tight in the largest sizes ...
