Just come home from work to see that Boden A/W (large) parcel is waiting for me in the post office!!!! No neighbours in so postie could not do the usual "leave with the next doors" this morning!!! And I have 7 kids over to play so cannot abandon to run down to the post office..so will have to twiddle thumbs all night until 9am tomorrow morning...!!!

purplepeony · 29/07/2010 16:43

Actually I like the Uptown top- have tried again and shows cleavage a bit and fits well round tum etc. Sleeves too long but will push up.

Thanks for the infoon the biker jacket- it feels very stiff and not sure I'd finit comfy.

Also got the velvet pea coat and may well keep as 20% makes it about £75- it's a jacket though, not a coat.

Tulpe, yes you could put something under it, I think. Something low of neck might be best so neckline does not show though.

I have the copenhagen tunic in my basket and have been dithering about it, but I'm definitely going to order it immediately now!

GeorginaWorsley · 29/07/2010 19:06

Agree re patterns on Copenhagen tunic.
I was very disappointed in this.Couldn't see it had a foul green colour in it when I ordered it.

DontCallMeBaby · 29/07/2010 19:09

I shall have to re-examine my wrapover cardigan, as I think I quite liked it. I was in a hurry though. And I shall have to think very hard about whether I secretly want to wear a dressing gown to work (there is someone a few desks away who does - long wrapover cardigan, with sleeves AND A HOOD, it looks insane).

The drapey jersey top is nice in the purple; rest of my stuff is nice but not really interesting enough to mention. I'm a bit baffled by Boden's decision that apparently this season pewter = brown though.

Oumasrusks · 29/07/2010 19:30

DontCallMeBaby - I liked the drapey jersey top in purple too. It's a lovely colour and the fabric is so soft.

traceybath · 29/07/2010 20:01

This in silver is lovely.

But everything else going back.

Breton tunic just odd and very unflattering on me - think you need to be pretty flat-chested for it to work.

Girls little lace trimmed tops - well primark do better quality - the lace looked like cheap knicker elastic.

Pretty rubbish really.

Cashmere cropped cardigan not available yet apparently.

So has anyone ordered this dress as quite like the look of the charcoal version.

Zembo · 29/07/2010 20:28

Tracey your links aren't working for me

traceybath · 29/07/2010 20:37

Weird zembo - I'm keeping the silver spangly cardigan.

And like the women's printed cord dress in charcoal - think bloss linked to it on other thread.

And their size 6's do fit well.

purplepeony · 29/07/2010 20:55

Dontcallme- I was puzzled over pewter too- i thought they meant mole, or mink. Do they not know what pewter is?

Anyone bought the Henley top last season or this? Looks a tad boring but might be warm and quite nice with jeans...

It was the cashmere cropped cardi I ordered and its waiting for me in the Post Office. Im not holding my breath though because it was blooming expensive. I think their prices have gone up.

tulpe · 29/07/2010 21:17

Purple straight legs arrived this afternoon. Colour is lovely but I ordered the "long" and they are just a very weird and different shape to the regular length. I will prob exchange for regular length and see if it makes a difference.

Tracey - what's the thickness of the fabric like on the Breton Dress? I was worried it might be a bit flimsy.

purplepeony · 29/07/2010 21:18

Their prices have gone up- a tenner on most things and the dresses are now Jigsaw prices but not the quality.

I paid £79 for cashmere cropped last year, minus 20%.

I had high hopes for the Metropolitan cardigan but it's really itchy and moults, so it's going back.

I disagree with the poster who thinks the size 6's fit well, I think they're too big, in particular the velvet trimmed vests are too big across the chest and back. I find it ridiculous that a size 6 would be too big across my chest as I'm a 28F!

I'm most disappointed with the Florentine dress as it looks so lovely in the pictures but it's already badly creased just from sitting in the packet and I've tried steaming it but it's still creased. Additionally it's too big across the shoulders, although I am considering having the shoulders taken up..

I'm still waiting on a cashmere cardigan but am tempted to cancel the order..

I guess we'll see

Still, I guess the good thing about getting it all refunded means I can buy the Vanessa Bruno dress I've been lusting over, so that's some recompense!!

traceybath · 29/07/2010 21:43

The breton tunic is straight up and down but too hight across the top for me.

Regarding size 6's - well I only ordered the cardigan so don't know about vest tops. But the cardigans are nice and narrow on the shoulders and arms.

But boden size big anyway - its not exactly topshop.

traceybath · 29/07/2010 21:44

Defensive moi

traceybath · 29/07/2010 21:50

Boden is interesting in that like toast and next they do use very good models that really sell their clothes.

Compare to websites like warehouse or m&s where they make everything look utterly shite.

But the reality of boden is so disappointing generally.

Poodlehorse · 29/07/2010 23:34

keeping boyfriend jeans and wishing I had ordered pair in other colour so might do that yet while the 12% is on. Keeping my loungewear henley and pull ons and the long sleeved tee which is nice and long in the body (finally). Umming and ahhing about the moleskin trousers but I think I am keeping too. Need DS to try on his jeans as I have an awful feeling they might not last him long, and I will be keeping his PJs for Xmas as he always gets posh PJs on Xmas Eve along with a book. Thought the only wayI could guarantee getting the ones I wanted was to buy them in preview you know how fast the PJs sell out. We got the rocket ones. I am actually thinking I must have been quite restrained in the preview excitement as that is all I bought. Quite fancying more pull ons for me though. Payday is tomorrow after all.... But where are the reviews? they better put them back

Lincolnparkafterdark · 30/07/2010 00:00

I sent most of my order back-Copenhagen tunics-ordered the grey/brown and plum colourways-thin,vile fabric very cheap looking -cannot believe this is considered Autumn/Winter.
Also sent back a top with the ruffly bits on the chest - not flattering.
Kept the pleat front jumper in silver grey and ordered another in navy .

letsblowthistacostand · 30/07/2010 08:47

Got mine yesterday, have the velvet nehru jacket & is lovely! Very flattering. Also a lot of kids stuff incl the Jersey peacoat in green for DD1. Looks fab on her! Also a nice jumper for DH. Not sending anything back.

hattymattie · 30/07/2010 09:39

Help - they seem to have managed to block shared codes so I'm stuck at a pathetic 10%. The 15% LN9U posted on Facebook just defaults back to 10%. Anybody else experienced this or am I on a Boden Blacklist!! By the way - I wanted cord printed dress - anybody got comments?

aarghhelp · 30/07/2010 09:55

Also, has anyone got a £10 off £30 code yet?
