I ordered the biker jacket in brown but it's arrived and definity looks black rather than brown.

apple99 - what colour is the lining in the black one you got?

I have the brown one from last year and this one is definitely not brown!

apple99 · 28/07/2010 22:00

allnew I have the biker boots not the jacket.

pleasechange · 28/07/2010 22:20

oh, ok - doh! Need to call them tomorrow I think!

HalfTermHero · 28/07/2010 23:02

Thanks, Katy. I'm about 6 inches taller than you so fingers crossed they will be a decent length on me. I'll order some.

How does the exchange thing on your preview stuff work? Does anyone know? I have a fair bit I'm returning. Are you allowed to choose different items to the same value as you originally spent and keep the 20% off the prices? Tia!

purplepeony · 29/07/2010 08:15

Returns- yes, just return and ask for an exchange for new items and you'll get 20% off too.

I would not pay Boden prices forleggings- Uniqlo are nice and thick or you could try John Lewis who stock other brands.

I don't wear them - did the first time round 20+ years back- but my DD does.

Am going to John Lewis today so will try there, thanks purple. I am very dubious about leggings I must say. Just thinm they might be more comfortable than jeans under tunics. I am a size 8 but tbh I see very few people of any size who look good in the things. I suspect jeans will always look more flattering on everyone and I have not yet reached the point where I am old enough to opt for comfort over style! I will be very pleased if I can find attractive looking leggings!

Thanks for info re Boden exchanges. I may get more tunics as the fit and shape are good this year.

kittya · 29/07/2010 11:22

Did any one get the cashmere cardi?

purplepeony · 29/07/2010 11:24

I received the Floaty Print Dress just now- I added it on to my main order later- main order still not come.

It is NOT nice. I ordered the Teal colourway and the background is navy.

Also, the material is thin, it is hemmed right along the bottom edge ( to save 3 cms material I assume) and there is no way it its worth £85 full price. It is worth about £40 if that.

I ordered an 8- it fits round the body okay but the shoulders and V neck gape a bit- shoulders slip off.

OP posts:
purplepeony · 29/07/2010 11:26

kittya which one?
I have 2 cropped ones from last season (s) and they are good quality but too short for winter wear at 18 inches. They just come to waist level.

Have you got the full length one?
I was thinking about it, but at £79-ish it's a lot more than M&S whose are £59.

cosmoplitan tee so nice i started a thread

purplepeony · 29/07/2010 13:54

Oh God- it's all arrived now- and I have to decide what to exhange- hardly keeping anything.

Straight legged jeans- nice high rise but 10s are too tight - just fasten- and 12s are massive around thighs.

Jersey tea Dress- frumpsville on me anyway.

Chic wrap over cardi- shapeless like a dressing gown with sleeves cut offf.

Brown waxy biker jacket- very stiff and 8 is tiny bit tight but 10 will be massive on shoulders.

Textured knot top- nice- keeping but be warned it comes up big, the 8 is bigger than the.....

Uptown top in an 8 which clings
.
Brown leather plimsolls- prob going back as colour is a bit pale/shitty. sorry.

HalfTermHero · 29/07/2010 15:03

I was really let down by the uptown top. Am a size 8 and a 34B chest and it made me look really flat chested. May look alright on the large of nork. Sending it back too!

iwilldothis · 29/07/2010 15:05

Mine still not here. Anyone got the casual dress? I ordered it and can't wait to see it!

HalfTermHero · 29/07/2010 15:10

Should also mention that coppenhagen tunic made my tits and legs look fantastic, so all is not lost!

AlaskaNebraska · 29/07/2010 15:13

SO agree re wrap over cardigan
and its cotton it seems

AlaskaNebraska · 29/07/2010 15:14

but the pattenrs on the copenhagen thing are vile

HalfTermHero · 29/07/2010 15:19

The blue/navy marbles pattern is fine, honest that is the only decent colourway, though. Honestly, with knee high boots and opaque tights dp wanted it straight off me iykwim. Johnnie would be well pissed off if he knew he had created such a trouser arouser of a piece

purplepeony · 29/07/2010 15:25

Hmm- you have made me think about the Uptown top now- I am a 32C and it does squash them a bit- maybe a 10 would be kinder?

OP posts:
HalfTermHero · 29/07/2010 15:38

I am not convinced it will look that great on anyone tbh. If you have a more modest chest you will look small of tit and if you are more well endowed you better hope you tummy is flat because it clings over the stomach area. No potential for slouching in it! I think that better will be found on the high street in a few weeks. I don't usually have a problem buying tops.

sorky · 29/07/2010 15:48

About to place an order for
Breton tunic (purple)
2 Outgoing tops (peacock and purple)
Velvet trim cami (pine)
Laundered print shirt (azure)
Drapey Jersey Cardigan (aubergine)

Has anyone received these, what did you think?

Tempted to get the Copenhagen Tunic in blue...

Worried about the length as I'm only 5'3"

HalfTermHero · 29/07/2010 16:10

Length on tunic should be fine. It covers my backside by about 2 to 3 inches at 5ft 9. Is a really mini on me. It is really flattering around chest and skims tummy in a fitted but nevertheless forgiving fashion.

tulpe · 29/07/2010 16:22

HalfTermHero Am loving your turn of phrase re: trouser arouser of a dress Am now thinking of ordering since DH is also appreciative of a shorter dress coupled with a knee high boot....... Do you think it could be layered with a long sleeve tee beneath on cooler days? I cannot abide 3/4 sleeves when it is cold....my wrists complain bitterly.

PurplePeony I have the biker jacket from last year in a 10. I thought it would be too big across the shoulders as am usually an 8 but found it was perfect fit - particularly for when you want to thicker jumper beneath.

I love the Breton Tunic and am thinking I will replace an item from my original (as yet not arrived) parcel with it but am keen to see reviews first.

sorky · 29/07/2010 16:25

Oh dear, now hankering over the Metropolitan cardi too. eek!

Please tell me it's rubbish...
