Ok, I have debating posting this but we have a conflict here.

I reported a stream of why's posts in an effort to keep the contentious subject off the thread.

AmyMumsnet sent my the following message at 12.03pm

Thanks for your reports. We wouldn't really count these posts as harassment. Given that the thread is a spin-off from another thread it is only natural that people will bring it up. As long as it doesn't turn into a TAAT then we're just going to leave it as it is, otherwise it will lead to us stifling one set of views in preference of another.

Sorry for any confusion. To clarify, we felt that if a thread was started as a spin-off from another thread, it's a bit much to suggest that posters from the first thread posting here about said thread is harassment.

However, if it turns into a discussion which picks apart the previous thread, and therefore it becomes a TAAT, we'd have to zap it. This is why we advised you not to discuss said thread on here.

Now I've said thread far too many times, it's lost all meaning. I hope you're happy .

Firstly, I apologise to you all if my comments last night have been the cause of disruption on this thread, it was never my intention and the poster who is causing the disruption has woefully misinterpreted those posts.

My first post after TPWSNBN's (the poster who shall not be named) post did indeed relate to her and just to clarify, I would welcome said poster onto this thread to engage in an adult conversation, I think it would be of benefit. However, why it is impossible to engage with someone who merely throws out one word insults, and how you have cobbled a whole back story and can pronounce so knowingly about TPWSNBN from that and the other thread is quite baffling.

My second post was indeed a riposte to needs sarcastic posts and not in any way, shape or form directed at TPWSNBN.

why you completely misinterpreted my posts and it is grossly unfair that you have used your lack of understanding of what I was saying to beat other posters over the head, and to accuse them, and indeed me, of a lack of understanding and worse is totally unjustified.

Finally, a twat was a pregnant goldfish when I was at school too .

Arse I can se why you reported the posts. It did start to appear that we were being goaded in to retaliating which would have led to thread deleted.
Considering the reasons why this thread was born some posters actions have only confirmed it and there's me thinking we would be welcomed with open arms

Take solace in the fact that with yours and others support I have enjoyed MN more this weekend as the fear of being shooed bullied off threads has gone. People have posted in support of us.
I have met some wonderful posters who share my ideas and indulge my hat obsession.

You have a wealth of knowledge and some sound advice to give please keep doing it

So, to clarify Amy if we get any more visits asking us to justify anything that was said on 'that' thread, we should just ignore it?

And if the posts still continue, it could be considered harassment?

After all, we have asked, nicely, for it to stop and it hasn't. We did ignore it last night when TPWCBN called us all twats. And it still didn't stop there.

Blimey Do-gooders, I've just realised that this thread is halfway through already. It'll be finished before we get the ground rules started at this rate.

So;

Everyone was talking quite peaceably.

Tapper came in and yelped "Twats"

Some people commented fairly mildly on that, Nightwatch hid it.

Whyonearth turned up this morning and started posting at tedious length in a way that didn't quite make sense about US 'picking on' Tapper.

I suggest what happened is whyonearth hadn't realised what Tapper had done.

Can you confirm that you aware of that order of events please, (because otherwise I don't follow the logic)?
