Jsut been over getting upset on the Dont speak to both parents thread. A not so fine example of a stepmum there. Shes not nutty. Shes either a troll or barking. Cant even type a coherent responce as am so angry so have decided to leave it.

Squirrel3 · 27/01/2006 16:38

If you lived closer and I'd known sooner dp could have plastered your kitchen for you, while we got plastered in your lounge!

I'm fine Hows life in IT training?

tarantula · 27/01/2006 16:38

Now that sounds like it could have been a good plan

Squirrel3 · 27/01/2006 16:40

Its ok, I'm not exactly enjoying it ATM, but I supose it will take me a little while to settle in.

OP posts:
Squirrel3 · 27/01/2006 16:41

It has all of a sudden started to snow really heavily here. I hope ds will be ok he set off for Southampton half hour ago.

OP posts:
tarantula · 27/01/2006 16:41

yeah im sure it will. Have you done any trining yet? or are you still doing introductin stuff? Are you working within a company doing training or is it an IT training company?

tarantula · 27/01/2006 16:43

Im sure hell be ok. Ive been expecting snow since this morning tho cos there was small flurries on my way into work Nothing that stayed mind. Has he got hsi mobile on him?

Squirrel3 · 27/01/2006 16:46

Its an IT training company, I teach people how to use computers (it would be handy if I knew how to do it myself though.

Its mostly teaching people who have been sent there by the Job Centre, I'm sure half of them can't read, I keep trying to point those that I am sure can't read towards the literacy courses.

Some are very smelly too!!!!!!!!

OP posts:
Squirrel3 · 27/01/2006 16:47

Yes, ds has got his mobile on him, I'm sure he will drive carefully, he is quite a sensible boy (well for someone of the male gender).

OP posts:
tarantula · 27/01/2006 16:49

OMG that sounds a bit depressing tbh. at least you have got any smart arse whizzkids yet. you know you are in for a bad ride when people cant follow the instruction 'click on the start button in the bottom left hand corner' and then you have to find out if thats cos they dont know left from right or cos they cant read the word start

Squirrel3 · 27/01/2006 16:51

Lol, I haven't had that yet, usually because I point to it though, I'm sure if I didn't I would get some blank looks!!

OP posts:
Squirrel3 · 27/01/2006 16:54

I got my electric sorted, at last!

He has got to come back to do a couple of little bits though, why can't these people finish a job? He left at 2.45pm yesterday, got to admit I was thinking hang on its not 5pm yet!

OP posts:
tarantula · 27/01/2006 16:58

Its some kinda workman trait I think that they have to leave a few things undone. Hope you dont have to chase him too much to sort it. good job you can point to things. I used to to phone support and that was hell cos you ahd to try adn talk them through it.

Am off home in a min jsut getting dressed to cycle

Squirrel3 · 27/01/2006 16:59

Good grief, I just had a quick look at that thread you were talking about Tarantula, I'm lost for words! I hope it is a troll and not an actual mother.

OP posts:
Squirrel3 · 27/01/2006 17:00

Wrap up warm Tarantula, have a good weekend.

OP posts:
tarantula · 27/01/2006 17:02

Me too Squirel. think people have been very nice to her actually considering the way they jump on us stepmum normally. well ahve a good weekend and relax after your stressfull week. Ill speak to you sometime next week hopefully

workingmumnhs · 27/01/2006 17:09

i am off to watch DSD in her bi annual show tonight. Will have to sit next to DP, BM and her new husbands parents. It was so awkward last time. I felt like a spare tyre. Look on the bright side, at least i'm invited this time. She has been going for years. (£80 a term. which we have to pay, or contribute towards anyway) and this is only the second one I've seen. It makes DSD happy to see everyone together so i'll grinand bear it but if DP and BM disappear for a cigarette and leave me with her inlaws again I swear i'll scream.

workingmumnhs · 27/01/2006 17:12

where is that thread you were talking about. I can't findit

NotActuallyAMum · 28/01/2006 14:37

Helllloooo everyone

We have laptop at last!!!!

workingmum you're braver than me - NO WAY could I go anywhere that BM would be! That thread is in relationships, quite a long title - something like "don't speak to both parents so why should be bother" or something like that

Glad you got your electric done Squirrel. Sorry I missed you yesterday, I finish at half 4 on Friday

tarantula hope they make a good job of the plastering - for their sake {grin}

Last night was OK - got totally pissed tho! Had a right bad head this morning, and I've still managed to set up the computer!!

workingmumnhs · 28/01/2006 15:07

Play was fantastic. BM was there with her friends so we were civil but did have to sit with them. It bothered me at first because DP and BM would giggle at shared jokes and times when they were together that i knew nothing about but since having a child myself I have become selectively deaf and just use it then. And one thing that gets me tho times like that (and thisis going to sound really big headed but so what) is that I am about a foot taller, 3 stone lighter and a decade younger than her. I am make an effort to show it when i know she'll be there. yes it is an ego thing but it gets me tho.
NAAM Glad you have your laptop up and running have always wanted one of them but don't see the point when i have the main comp downstairs. I don't need one for work or anything. Will got and have a look at that thread now.

NotActuallyAMum · 28/01/2006 15:28

This is the only computer we have - I normally come on here from work

I've got it to myself at the mo because DP is in bed - poor chap had to be up at 5 after going to bed after midnight, bless him

Squirrel3 · 28/01/2006 15:43

Hello NAAM and Workingmum, I've got the grandchildren here so I won't be able to talk for long but hello anyway.

OP posts:
Squirrel3 · 28/01/2006 15:49

p.s. glad you got your lap top up and runing now NAAM, we can talk at weekends and in the evenings now, I was starting to feel left out!

OP posts:
workingmumnhs · 28/01/2006 15:53

GRANDCHILDREN!

There I go again making assumptions. I should stop doing that.

Right I've read that parents thread thing.

OH MY GOD! Dopeople like that actually exist.
(SOrry for allthe typos. Had acrylic nails put on yeaterday and having difficulty typing#)

Right I am going out tonight with the girls. When I told DD she says wants to come to. I can't explain that they don't let 3 year olds into nightclubs it is lost on her. Instead i promised her that if she stays with daddy tonight she can go to sleep in her much loved fairy dress.

AM I GOING MAD!
Is it normal (and hygienic) for a child to spend all day and night inthe one dress
