OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
workingmumnhs · 29/03/2006 12:23

By the time Dad had got there to put the deposit downthe flat had already been taken so I am back to square one.

NotActuallyAMum · 29/03/2006 12:28

FANC it doesn't normally bother me when she comes, in fact we very often all have a good time together, it's just that I know exactly what's going to happen tonight - DP will speak to her, she'll turn on the tears and promise it won't happen again, he'll then feel sorry for her so by the time I get home it'll all be forgotten and I'll be expected to pretend it never happened and believe that she won't do it again when past experience has shown that she will. I'm actually going food shopping after work just to keep out of the way for a bit longer. Normally I'd go early in the morning before work but I just don't want to go home tonight...

Squirrel hasn't been on for a bit, hope she's OK

It's Easter in just over 2 weeks - 2 days off, YAY! Haven't bought any eggs yet, I daren't cos I'd eat the buggers!! Grin

Surfermum · 29/03/2006 12:31

I'm good thanks. Not meant to be on here though, a million and one things to be doing as we're on hols next week!

NotActuallyAMum · 29/03/2006 12:38

Glad you're OK surfermum, I've got lots of work to do but can't drag myself off here....Grin Where are you going to? I've always wondered where people who live by the sea go for their holidays [nosey emoticon]

workingmum do keep looking, I'm sure something will come up. Could you not stay with your parents in the meantime?

Surfermum · 29/03/2006 13:10

We're off to Cornwall Grin. Funny, I always wonder where people who live in Cornwall go on their holidays. Why would they want to go anywhere?!

workingmumnhs · 29/03/2006 13:13

Dad lives in a one bedroomed flat and my sister is my mum's carer so that isn't an option. Guess I'll have to carry on as I am for now. Staying at a friends with her husband and five children, do feel as if I am intruding tho.

NotActuallyAMum · 29/03/2006 13:18

But I'd say that about you tho surfermum Grin why go anywhere when you have that lovely beach on your doorstep? Grin Cornwall is lovely tho, DP has never been Shock we have said we'll go one day. I like St Ives, very olde worlde with the cobbled streets

We're not going anywhere at Easter, DP has to work bank holidays. Not sorry tho tbh - around here if you go anywhere on bank holiday weekend you just spend ages sitting in traffic. Suppose I'll try to do some work on the garden (boo!!) or I might just say sod it and sit on my fat ar*e for 4 days Grin

Surfermum · 29/03/2006 13:53

Yes, but where I am now has housework to be done. Where I am going has the best pub in the world and I can sit in it at 3 o'clock in the afternoon if I so wish! The best thing is dsd loves the pub as it has an old fashioned pacman machine in the children's room.

NotActuallyAMum · 29/03/2006 14:46

Oooohhh pacman!!!! I used to love that! And Space Invaders Grin

I do know what you mean about being at home, that's why we try not to have time off work and not go anywhere. Somehow you always find something to do when you're at home don't you, no matter how good your intentions you end up thinking "I'll just do this then I'll relax" and before you know it you've done about 4 hours work

Squirrel3 · 29/03/2006 17:54

Arrrrrrrgh!!!!!!!!

I need a new job!!!! I didn't sign up for this! It was supposed to be an Office Managers post not a trouble shooter!!!!! I have been into the other branches, nobody will speak to me, well, if they do they are 'polite and professional'. I can't stand it!

I wish I hadn't done such a good job of sorting out the first office; I just have this uncanny ability to look at something and see a better way of doing things. I did the same when I was training, they asked me how things were and I told them that it would be much better if they did A B & C, next thing I know they had implemented most of the changes with in their training program. I wish I had kept my mouth shut (if only I had a pound for every time I have thought that!).

Well I've got another application form to fill in tomorrow, wish me luck...

I'm v. jealous of surfermum too

How is everyone today?

Squirrel3 · 30/03/2006 09:44

Hello Naam, are you still walking around with a huge grin on your face? I am so pleased your dp had a change of heart. I know it may be complicated and may take some time to do the reversal but I am so happy for you.

OP posts:
FruitAndNutcase · 30/03/2006 09:53

Morning Squirrel, morning NAAM. How are you today? Smile

NotActuallyAMum · 30/03/2006 09:54

Yes I am still smiling big time. Trying not to get my hopes up too much though but it's so hard not to!! I must be careful though, even if they can do the reversal there's only a 50% success rate so I don't want to set myself up for a big disappointment iyswim. I feel soooooo much better though knowing that he's prepared to try, and I just know that if we try and it doesn't work it'll be far, far less hard to take because I'll know he's done all he can. I'm sure everyone will agree that there's a very big difference between can't and won't Smile

How are you? Are you still job-hunting? I take it you haven't heard anything about the interview you went for about the "job" that never was?

NotActuallyAMum · 30/03/2006 09:56

Hello FANC Grin

Makes me smile when I see you back on here Smile

How are you?

FruitAndNutcase · 30/03/2006 09:58

Thanks NAAM, Im still smiling at your news Grin Im not too bad thanks, being run ragged at work as usual. So tired all the time, 8am - 6pm 5 days a week is such a long day. Especially when I very rarely get a lunchbreak. My only break is chatting on here! lol

Squirrel3 · 30/03/2006 10:02

No didn't hear a thing, I think its so bloody rude to not even give me a call to tell me. You spend a lot of time preparing for an interview, I tend to do a lot of research into the company etc before I go and they can't be bothered to tell you that you haven't got it. I'm not suprised I didn't get it, I knew at the time, but still....

I'm doing another application form today, they can take a couple of days to fill in if you do it properly. I'm sure I won't get it, its another one that I think will go internally, its for the local Council but I'll give it a go.

OP posts:
NotActuallyAMum · 30/03/2006 10:03

Blimey FANC, I thought I worked long hours at 8 - 5. And I always get a half hour lunch break. It usually gets interrupted mind you, but at least I get one

Squirrel3 · 30/03/2006 10:04

Hello FANC, I didn't see your post below Naams', It is fantastic to have you back, I only wish I could be on here more these days. Grin

OP posts:
NotActuallyAMum · 30/03/2006 10:09

Agree Squirrel, it's really bad that they don't even bother to let you know

How's your dd?

Squirrel3 · 30/03/2006 10:19

Actually things are looking better for her atm, her friend has moved in with her and is helping her with the kids. They have both decided to give up smoking the puff too. She told me she feels so much better now she is taking the AD's, she wishes she had started to take them ages ago. Her waste of space dp is still gone, lets hope it stays that way, he only ever made things worse for dd.

I hope that now she will see that she doesn't need him or the puff and I can get my daughter back.

OP posts:
NotActuallyAMum · 30/03/2006 10:34

That's good Squirrel Smile

Totally agree it sounds like she's better off without him

btw I saw my brother at the weekend and asked him about the 2 kids. He just said they hadn't heard anything and changed the subject. Hate to say this but I'm starting to think that they didn't really want them in the first place, and I know that's an awful thing to say but it really is the impression I'm getting
