Squirrel, hope your new job is going well

tarantula · 25/01/2006 10:59

Hello Hows life Naam? You busy at work? I ws run off my feet yesterday but things seem to have calmed down today so may get some time to chat. Hope your job is going well squirrel.

biglips · 25/01/2006 11:05

hiya - can i join?!

i have a DD who is 15 mths old and SD who will be 7 in march (SD lives with her mum so we have SD every fortnight fri night - sun night).... everything is going fine. SD is a good girl and is good and not really bothered if i feed DD, but id DP feed dd, thats another story as the tears comes on so we just ignore her but we still pay attention to her and tell her we love her but its never enough for her (She had got another half sister who lives with her and she is 2)

NotActuallyAMum · 25/01/2006 11:33

Helloooooo biglips

Welcome - of course you can join us. A new bod - yaaaaay!! We like a laugh on here - as you've probably seen if you've looked at the "old" thread Nice to know you don't get too many problems, but everyone's great on here if you do

tarantula I'm OK thank you, not too busy at work - nicely busy I call it, enough to do but not loads

Squirrel3 · 25/01/2006 16:33

Hello

Welcome biglips, I hope you are as nutty as we all are, well of course you are, if you are not nutty pre step-motherhood you are after!!!

The job is going quite well thank you NAAM and Tarantula.

Tarantula, I remember the terrible two's, awful, you have my sympathies, although I am sure your dd is an absolute angel really, give her a hug from me.

Hi Squirel good to hear from you. Glad the jobs going well. Dd can be a wee little angel when she wants alright and funnily enough shes great at going to bed at night [phew]. Its just afternoon naps that are the problem but then its not really my problem cos I aint there most of the time . She went down ok today tho so I wont need to be bringing dp home any of these

Welcome BL Nice to have you along.

workingmumnhs · 25/01/2006 19:45

Hiya everyone.

Been advised to check this thread out by Tarantula and Squirrel3. I am a step mum to a fantastic little girl. Unfortunately me and her mother have varying opinions on how to bring up out children so it is easier if we are just civil to each other. ( apparantly it is fine for girls of 10 to snog in the park and get "f's" in their maths exams.) Don't get me going on her.
How is everyone and their families.

NotActuallyAMum · 26/01/2006 08:39

Hello everyone

Welcome workingmumnhs, at your BM - we all have problems with those sometimes and this is a great place to vent - you'll find everyone's lovely on here Me and mine are very well thank you, how about you? Do you just have the one step-daughter? And I assume from your name that you have your own children too?

Squirrel - glad your new job is going well How are things with your dss?

tarantula I could just drink some of that....

Squirrel3 · 26/01/2006 10:27

Hello everyone

A very big welcome to workingmumnhs.

Got the day off because the electricitian is here (using Big John's lap top again so I could talk to you) they were really good about it at work, I'm feeling a bit poorly too so a day off was a good idea.

NAAM don't talk to me about dss, I could quite cheerfully strangle him today.

Tarantula, I could use some of that drink too!

Good old John again

Oh dear Squirrel so he's still playing up then!! Do feel free to grumble if you want to

Hope they get your electric sorted today

Squirrel3 · 26/01/2006 10:49

Oh its the usual mess in the bed, he didn't change his bedding himself this morning although dp told him to before he went to work, it honestly makes me want to heave, that may sound awful but it does. Its not wet dreams either, he is erm..... well you get the picture, I phoned dp after he had gone off to day release at college and he is angry and he is going to talk to him. He had just told him that he had to take his sheets ect off the bed and put them in the washing machine and hadn't mentioned the ...erm ... mess. He had decided he has to talk to him about it now as he wont change the bed as agreed.

And he 'lost' his phone this morning so I phoned it (using my mobile) to see if we could hear it and his mother answered, he had left it at home. I handed it to dss and she asked who's phone it was that he was using, he told her it was mine, she laughed at said "Ha, ha I've got her mobile number now!!!". I'm just waiting for the tirade of abusive texts and phone calls now.

His one 'saving grace' this morning was that I left £10 out deliberately to see if he would take it and he didn't (this time).

tarantula · 26/01/2006 10:58

Hurrah for John Aint he the best Hope the leccy get all sorted. Hows the job going? What kind of IT training are you doing? Its a good job to get into that one esp. if you start learning the more techy stuff.
hello workingmumnhs glad to see you. Know the feeling re what BM expects or not as the case may be esp on schoolwork issues. But heyho we do our best when he brings homework to ours and try to encourage him as much as possible.

Right so thats a flagon of stella each then is it. Gran I'll get looking

tarantula · 26/01/2006 11:00

ive also gotta start looking for a job too .. i havent worked since i had baba and now we need some more money coming in....

biglips · 26/01/2006 11:08

but im in a bit of a dilemma as its only £3000 less if i stay at home being a SAHM than going back to work!!

Squirrel3 · 26/01/2006 11:09

P.S. just teaching people how to use them really, you know, how to use access, excel, powerpoint etc. I'm not sure if its something I want to do for a long time but its more money than I was getting, so I'll give it a go for a while and see how it goes.

OP posts:
tarantula · 26/01/2006 11:11

Biglips - is that £3,000 per year? Don't think I'd be prepared to work for that, but then again I suppose it's £250 a month. Would it be an option for you to take Squirrel's advice and retrain for something?

biglips · 26/01/2006 11:22

Squirrel3 · 26/01/2006 11:23
