That's nice about dss1 Squirrel - at least you're getting some kind of return for all your hard work as a stepmum

NotActuallyAMum · 02/02/2006 13:32

Squirrel3 · 02/02/2006 13:33

Well at least it wasnt you Squirrel. I dread the thought of finding dss doing anything. Did find a load of sites that he had visited on the computer. Not sure how many of those were popups etc mind and how much is curiosity but either way I put controls on the machine straight after that which I had forgotten to do last time I reinstalled the machine. He hasnt mentioned not being able to get into any sites tho

tarantula · 02/02/2006 13:36

Good to hear about dss1 too Squirrel It nice to know that kids can turn things round

NotActuallyAMum · 02/02/2006 13:57

It's a flippin' minefield with kids and computers isn't it? dsd loves going on MSN and would be on there all night if we'd let her (she only has internet access at our house). DP lets her have an hour but no more - but he lets her have the computer in her bedroom which I don't agree with. DPs argument is that even if she was sitting in the lounge with us, she could still hide things if she wanted to as soon as we went near her, which I suppose is true but I still don't think she should be on the internet in her bedroom...

NotActuallyAMum · 02/02/2006 16:36

Squirrel - whilst I think about it.....it's FANCs birthday on Monday. Don't think there's any point doing anything on here because she's not coming on at the mo but I've sent her an e-mail at home. Think you've got her e-mail address? If not let me know and I'll CAT you with it

Squirrel3 · 03/02/2006 06:27

Blimey, I can on here early do start a Birthday thread for her, she does lurk, she doesn't post anymore though. I hope that changes soon, we miss her and want her back.

Do you hear that FANC?

Think I'll start a thread for her anyway so that we can all say Happy Birthday!

For the newbie's FANC was one of the founder members of the Nutty Step Mum's Club, she hung up her hat as Chief Nutter because she is having such a hard time of it ATM, we want her to know that she is missed and we will support her all the way, we want her back! So add your Happy Birthday's on the Birthday Thread please.

Morning everyone, didn;t manage to get on yesterday as I was busy busy busy. dh has decided spur of the moment it would be a GREAT idea to swap bedrooms with our dd, so she now has our room beautifully decorated whilst we are living in absolute chaos in a disney princess room. Don't even mention my hallway, he started decorating it in March last year and it still isn't finished!!! Why do men do this?! I keep saying I'm going to get someone in to finish the job but think I would have a divorce on my hands!! Anyone else have a hubby like mine - anyone want him!

tarantula · 03/02/2006 08:56

lol sounds a bit like our house then bm3sm2. Only time any project gets finished is when some member of my family comes over to stay and its got to be done before they get here

NotActuallyAMum · 03/02/2006 08:59

Morning all

Blimey Squirrel you were very early today

Hello bm3sm2 LOL at the Disney Princess room. I would definitely get someone in to do the stairs after 11 months - either that or do it myself

NotActuallyAMum · 03/02/2006 09:00

Hello tarantula x posts

bm3sm2 · 03/02/2006 09:14

Glad its not just me then! sd bday in March, last time everyone was here for her bday tea it was work in progress - I have told him it can't still be work in progress a year later! As far as me doing it, I am just not handy at all! Ask me to cook and clean no probs, decorate no thanks! Just realised that sounds soooo old fashioned. Must admit I am a woman and do woman things and he is a man and does manly things (he does do housework and help with kids btw before anyone takes me for a mug!)

Hopefully by Sunday evening I will have a lovely cream haven to sleep in (disney princess is not my thing!) although have all 5 children this weekend - so maybe not ......

NotActuallyAMum · 03/02/2006 09:25

OMG 5 children is not good, what a thought...

My DP is very domesticated, I'm really lucky, he cooks, cleans, hoovers, he'll put the washing machine on - all without being asked. The only thing he can't and won't do is ironing. I'll do anything that needs doing too - I'm pretty handy with "mens" tools and don't mind having a try at things

Now gardening is another story - neither of us have ever really been gardeners but we're learning, slowly but surely

NotActuallyAMum · 03/02/2006 09:25

Oops - didn't mean the mens tools thing to sound rude

I meant hammers, screwdrivers etc.

Squirrel3 · 03/02/2006 09:27

PMSL NAAM

NotActuallyAMum · 03/02/2006 09:29

Still can't believe I put that

What's everyone up to at the weekend?

Squirrel3 · 03/02/2006 09:30

Don't think I'd like a Disney princess bedroom either BTW.

Dp is a builder and is always doing little bits around the house, he's got some very big tools too!

NotActuallyAMum · 03/02/2006 09:33

lol Squirrel

Squirrel3 · 03/02/2006 09:36

DD has found a car; she is picking it up later. I'm having the kids so she can drive it around for an hour or so to get used to it before she puts the kids in it!!!!

So this evening I will have five kids here too! Then I'm sure dd will pop in so that makes six, thinking about it, I'm not sure if dss1 will be here too, so that makes seven!!!!

All I need is for dsd1 to turn up then that would make eight!!! (all of them).

Got to go Students hands are up in the air desperately wanting my attention.

OP posts:
tarantula · 03/02/2006 09:40

lol NAAM I'm quite handy with men's tools too .
Did a neatish plaster job on one wall in hte kids room (as in it stayed on the wall and was quite smooth which is more than dp managed)

bm3sm2 · 03/02/2006 09:40

lol :0

DD has ballet tom morning half nine ( ) she has a show coming up in March. Thing I don't agree with is that it is compulsory she wears makeup - nothing plain either - red lipstick to be exact. She's only 4, I think its a bit much, altho I have been told it is so their faces show on the stage. Some mums go ott and do their childs eyes up with eyeliner and mascara etc etc. Think it doesn't help that she is pale skinned with pure blond hair, red is just not her colour!!! :0

tarantula · 03/02/2006 09:49

Cant say I like makeup on kids either but it is neccessary when on stage really cos otherwise it is very difficult to see their faces properly. Agree re the parents going OTT tho. I've see this with Irish dancing too but the worse has got to be ballroom dancing with the horrible orange take fans and thats even the little ones!

NotActuallyAMum · 03/02/2006 09:50

I've started something now haven't I

I wouldn't be happy about the make-up either, far too young IMO, but I guess a bit of lippy isn't going to do any harm. Well OTT with the rest tho, it won't do their skin any good

Squirrel3 · 03/02/2006 10:04

BTW, its Surfermums Birthday today here.
