The refurbished SP Wine Bar is once again open, as while you don't have to drink to be a Step Parent, it helps.

Contact changed at no notice?

Disney Dad and sulky Skids?

Damned if you do and damned if you don't???

Ahhh, thats better!

It's homemade- ShirkeyKnot gave me the recipe, you make it in the dishwasher.

EverybodyKnows · 21/12/2011 12:47

oh BOF I'd love that recipe.

Having just finished my first batch of Limoncello Xmas Grin I'm looking for other ways of making nice booze recipes to try.

LEttletownofBOFlehem · 21/12/2011 12:56

I'll try and find it- hang on...

LEttletownofBOFlehem · 21/12/2011 12:57

Here we are- on the fabulous Shirley's blog

prettyfly1 · 21/12/2011 14:21

OOOh a new BOM BAR. I know its early but fuck it, it's Christmas and the all second wives are man stealing whores who are out to steal our husbands and murder our kids in bed after torturing them for months, or even worse do a decent job and be LIKED by them judgy brigade are grating on my nerves this week - whose for a slippery nipple??

EverybodyKnows · 21/12/2011 14:40

I'll have one !

Thanks so much for the link BOF- Will have to try that !

prettyfly1 · 21/12/2011 14:54

Here you go everybody - down in one!!

chelen · 21/12/2011 15:48

Is it too early for a drink? Just a liquer chocolate would do probably. My ss heads off tomo for a week, his half-brother is gonna really miss him. I'm in two minds, sad they can't be together but also ss goes quite wonky at xmas so its not easy/perfect when he is here. Today has been very angst-y already & I'm drained.

Also the toddler is licking melted chocolate off his blanket & I can't be arsed to deal with it/stop him because the alternative is yet another game of blow football.

PenguinArmy · 21/12/2011 15:51

see now I know why step-mums are evil

I come on here to offer some sympathy and now everytime I see this thread on TIO I crave alcohol Xmas Grin

BarfTheHeraldAngelsHeave · 21/12/2011 16:07

Well, it would seem that when it comes to knowing her friend's name changes, EverybodyDidntKnow would have been more appropriate Blush

Anyway, I have just had an incredibly successful playdate as not only did DS not hide under a blanket for almost the whole time, but..... he KEPT HIS UNDERPANTS ON!!!*

*DS has asd and the last time we had a playdate, he did both of those things and we never had another one with that child again. Apparently parents are not keen to have playdates with children who strip off and wrap themselves in fuzzy blankets.

I am very tempted to have add a nice Tia Maria to my nice cola, but I ought to hold off until the other half gets home as christmas or not, I need to watch the small ones.

Damn them.

BHshouldHaveKnown · 21/12/2011 16:16

Can't wait to be home and mix a nice Cuba Libre

samwellsbutt · 21/12/2011 16:25

love the bar, someone pour me a vodka.
quick question. if i am a first wife originally so pure and blameless in all and now a step mum and therefore an evil family destroying whore where does that leave me in the grand scheme of things? Grin

EverybodyKnows · 21/12/2011 16:34

There there, drink this.

therantingBOM · 21/12/2011 16:38

Jesus - someone pour me a drink please - I've spent the best part of a day that was really critical to me being able to finish for Xmas on time arguing the toss with some "projectors" on the stepmum board. (and hearing lots of lovely advice and kind words too of course!)

Now DH has emailed to say that all contact (as his ex calls it even though DSd is with us for half the week it's hardly "contact") has been cancelled for Christmas along with all week day contact as of January. he's devastated and to be honest right now I'd pay her my entire salary each month if she would just fuck off out of our lives.

samwellsbutt · 21/12/2011 16:46

wtf! ranting thats just awful. have some vodka.

samwellsbutt · 21/12/2011 16:48

everybody havent had limonchello in years

therantingBOM · 21/12/2011 17:01

Thanks for the vodka - have popped out for a bottle of wine which i am now consuming at my desk in a mug it looks like Brew tee hee

What is wrong with stripping and wrapping yourself in a fuzzy rug? I do that kind of thing now and I'm nearly 30 Grin

samwellsbutt · 21/12/2011 17:08

i assume for very different reasons though Grin

MJinSparklyStockings · 21/12/2011 17:13

BoM - ours, other than a few hours boxing day is canned - 12th December - at least 6th Jan other than a few hours Boxing Day - DC is older so lies and comes anyway.

MJinSparklyStockings · 21/12/2011 17:15

And Boxing Day is only because dc has stood some ground (because wants presents). So is expected to not see dad or siblings for nearly a month - despite wanting to (hence lying).

BarfTheHeraldAngelsHeave · 21/12/2011 17:27

if i am a first wife originally so pure and blameless in all and now a step mum and therefore an evil family destroying whore where does that leave me in the grand scheme of things?

Fucked, samwellsbutt

From what I understand (although that comes with a caveat about shifting goal posts) as soon as you become a step, you tarnish any of the glow of 1st wifedom.

damn damn damn.i figured this from other thread as it doesnt seem to matter if i mention that i have in fact been married and have kids that go to their fathers and dont behave like a scrreaming harpy. it is only recognised that i am trying to play happy family's with someone else children and husband. at least its festive Grin
