Oh dear Jonesy - hope you're both OK and you both recover soon - him from being poorly and you over the shock.

Jonesy, that sounds terrifying! Glad all is well now.

BH, I was just sat here feeling a bit sick and thinking something to eat might make me feel a little better, but I didn't know what I fancied. Now I know, but it's an hour to the nearest 24 hour supermarket, the kids are in bed and DH is still at work. I will have to stock up tomorrow... Smile

WildistheWind · 04/11/2010 20:19

And I lucieloo-

DSD1 (lives with us)is the 1st of our 3 DDs to have started puberty- she's already started physically she's only 10 bless her and a bit freaked out- I can see the changes in her behaviour though.

I'm ever so grateful our relationship is great after nearly 6 years.

Midori - Congratulations on your news...fingers crossed for you!

Congratulations to all others on your baby news too.

cobbledtogether · 04/11/2010 22:23

Ahh teenagers.

On the weekends where we didn't have DSD from Friday night, she'd always get picked up at 8am sharp.

When she hit her teens the time got later and later. At one point it hit 11am and when we got there she'd still be in her pyjamas and would only communicate in grunts and sulks for the first hour or two.

It was a blessing when she got her Saturday morning job so pick up time is around 1pm!!

OH and DSD are away together on Saturday. Lovely.

You're too kind GCB and pegs Grin

My two SS's are 14 and 12 - inherited them when they were 12 and 9 (just when the fun starts!)

Actually on the whole they've been good i.e. not given me specific step-mother related grief, but they are teenagers Grin

Cheers everyone

Ooh Lovely Pegs, enjoy!

I know what you mean, it's just hit him (and me) really hard, he can't seem to shake it off, you know like when you have a bad dream and it keeps coming back into your head.

Ladies I am popping in here for a late night drink after spending the last 9 odd hours in the hospital with dd. Just after my earlier post, she became ill and lost conciousness. Of course, it had to happen on the day when DH and DSD were out for the whole day.

However despite the fact that I am a "selfish womanchild" (I think that was the description of me on a previous Step P thread) I just got on with letting them enjoy their day as they would have had to come home pretty much the moment they arrived where they were going. I suspect that if I posted this elsewhere I'd be told I was wrong for NOT telling them on this occasion.

Anyway, I'm home now. There was a large bottle of white in the fridge. A large glass of it is now in me.

Whoever says that step parents never put their stepkids first should have seen me sitting alone in the hospital today with DD. If anyone says it to me in the next few days I will give them a virtual kick up the bum.

Probably rambling, but I've had a crap day, nothing to eat and a large glass of vino. Skal.

Can I have a nice glass of white and a mini rant please? Grin

After BM not being the slightest bit interested in DSD being ill on Friday - see my previous thread, and generally feeling that she puts her latest bloke before her children, I have found out tonight that BM is not taking other DSC to DSD2 school play as she wants her boyfriend to go and he can only go on the night we have the children. She NEVER takes them anywhere! Angry.

So it means we have to pay out and take them while she ignores them (not her day to have kids) at the show. Grr
