Happy New Year.

This is going to be an interesting year with the regulation change.

Rumours are Mercedes and RB engines are exploiting a loophole and so may have the most powerful engines.

AM will have a car with significant input from Adrian Newey.

Sauber becomes Audi and we have an 11th team, Cadillac.

Christian Horner seems very keen to get back into F1, preferably Alpine with Flávio - they deserve each other.

There is closed door testing in Barcelona then open testing from 11 February at Sakhir.

Edited for typo and thread title.

Me too. But ds is working so watching alone (with strict instructions no spoilers).really enjoyed the sprint (and not having to dodge any media).

The view looks amazing at Silverstone.

3 weeks for us before our 1st ever race (budapest). Ds is getting very excited and discussing outfits (different f1 tshirts for each day)! Any tips greatly recieved (going all 3 days), I'm starting to worry about logistics a bit as I'm a wheelchair user and hoping its not to restrictive for ds (although he'll go for a wander alone I'm sure).

A small pair of binoculars so you can read the lap times on the screen. As I always say suncream, sun hat and waterproofs.

Well done Kimi.

It’s Merc vs Ferrari tomorrow.

Isaak out qualified Max.

Powerpacks - multiple.

Alpine f1 ear plugs are very good - specifically designed to reduce car noise but you can still talk to the people next to you.

And sleep earplugs if you are camping.

Rain poncho - needs to be long enough to cover your knees when sitting down.

StarCourt · 04/07/2026 17:37

I have to go to a friends birthday tomorrow afternoon so will have to try and dodge media and other people telling me.

Comefromaway · 04/07/2026 19:34

She went to a q&a on Susie’s book tour about a year or so ago.

There's an interesting "Good / Bad Billionaire" about Toto on BBC sounds. I had no idea about his childhood, finance, racing background until the other day.

Comefromaway · 05/07/2026 11:16

One disappointing aspect about yesterday.

they came up to us and told us our area was closing and everyone needed to make their way out whilst the F1 Academy race was still happening. We amongst others stood our ground and stayed in the grandstand but my dad waiting outside was told to make his way out.

Lego race 😂 beached in the gravel trap.

MBS - just has to get into the drivers parade

workingcocker · 05/07/2026 14:34

Did Lance Stroll not do the Lego race?

JamesWebbSpaceTelescope · 05/07/2026 15:57

I know the drivers don’t like the yo-yo racing but it does make it enjoyable to watch.

Brazilianadventure · 05/07/2026 16:18

I feel for Kimi and George but it does keep the championship open.

The Lando stand with most people in his yellow T-shirts looks epic.

Charles has driven well.

Ferrari were right to pit Lewis at least he’s not lost First.

OP posts:
Brazilianadventure · 05/07/2026 16:24

Oh no Lewis yellow flag infringement

OP posts:
JamesWebbSpaceTelescope · 05/07/2026 16:30

Why did Ferrari pit at all! He has lost 2nd.

Brazilianadventure · 05/07/2026 16:31

This is how AD21 should have finished I know it’s a bit damp squib but fair.

mydogisthebest · 05/07/2026 16:31

What a disappointing ending. Why the hell did they not get the safety car in?

Brazilianadventure · 05/07/2026 16:33

Well done Charles, A bit of good luck for George and either Lewis or Lando 3rd depending on yellow flag.

I hate finishing under SC it's so disappointing. Lewis will be livid, if he gets 5 seconds he'll be out of the points.
Feel for Kimi too.

bluetongue · 05/07/2026 16:45

I’m gutted for Kimi. The way he wanted to stay out just to try and get a single point (which he never got) was great to see.

JamesWebbSpaceTelescope · 05/07/2026 16:46

Kimi did well to continue but I think the time penalty was fair. Either you have control of the car and need to keep within track limits or you don’t have control and should retire the car.

Fizbosshoes · 05/07/2026 16:51

Disappointed for Kimi, and a bit of luck for George that it ended under a sc. But he has had his fair share of bad luck so it probably evens out.

Really pleased that Charles won, was hoping for a Ferrari 1-2.

Anyone see/know what happened with OP at the start? Obviously hes not in contention but that was a disappointing result

It was a similar situation with Charles in miami, when he damaged the car (although admittedly that was his own doing rather than a mechanical/functional issue) He exceeded track limits and was overtaken - so didnt gain an advantage - but still got a time penalty that dropped him down the points
Kimi sounded quite panicked in some of his radio messages though
