The Welsh cyclist who I saw win a medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games and the raising of the Welsh flag will be there- Emma Finucaine, one of the fastest women in the world on a cycle.

It did. Laura Kenny was a bit blunt, said something like 'not sure what happened there, I've never seen anything like that and can't imagine what he did'.

I'm not enjoying Laura Kenny and Chris Hoy together on the sofa. They don't seem to gel with LK rabbitting on and CH looking a bit cheesed off.

For me too & before hearing her speak so much, I loved her and absolutely admired her for all she's achieved!

Oh I was really rooting for Matt, 4 hundredths of a second! Can’t take it away from the American, he seemed to come from nowhere. I hope Matt’s proud of his silver but so so close.

Poor Matt Hudson-Smith, to run the fifth fastest time ever in the 400m (and fastest ever by a European) and end up with silver - he should be so proud of himself.

So many instances now, in so many sports, of Brits getting pipped on the line. That's sport for ya!

@LightFull Michael Johnson - a true legend of the sport. I think he comes across very well as a presenter, too.

Modern pentathlon has started and I'm watching it between athletics. I enjoy it because it's weird.

KJT has had a good start in the heptathlon but I was hoping she could go one height more on the high jump. Thiam is looking in form and she is strong at the throwing events.

Bad crash in the women's cycling, with 3 riders down, bits of carbon fibre flying everywhere. Hope they are all ok.

Loving the kite - it looks amazing.
I just can't imagine travelling at those kinds of speeds without an engine, the athletes must be incredibly strong.

The poor Chinese rider looks very sore and shaken.
