Good to see Lando gets his own grandstand at Silverstone this year!

The Landostand 😁

Love it.

Max has been given the FIA equivalent of community service for swearing in the press conference. How ridiculous.

I can imagine the drivers using a lot of swear words to punctuate their radio comms this weekend to make a point.

agree with you bloody ridiculous !

YouAreAllMySymmetry · 20/09/2024 15:33

What did he even say?

Brazilianadventure · 20/09/2024 16:00

Max described his car as fucked. I think most of us would agree.

I do find it interesting Perez picked up the issue in Spain 2023 but RB chose to not treat his feedback as being as credible as Max.

I think this is why now Max is struggling RB realise Perez may have been driving the car as well as most other drivers. (Max is exceptional so drove round the issues). This has given RB a dilemma about switching Perez out for DR, Yuki or Lawson hence all the rumours.

It looks like RB/Max have found some speed in the car.

Well done Lando, just wish Max was starting further back. Lewis also out performed his car. He is usually stronger in the race so hopefully he can have a good result.

Bad luck for both Ferrari’s.

Excellent result for Lando. I wish Max was further back but how things have been the last few races I think it's probably better for Lando that Oscar is further back. Looking forward to the race tomorrow!

Sulusu · 21/09/2024 15:33

The McLarens definitely looked like the most stable car out there so far this weekend. Everyone else, including the Red Bulls looked really squirrely.

Really good lap from Hulkenburg too.

Brazilianadventure · 21/09/2024 16:19

Sky have just shown a couple of clips from the press conference and Max is refusing to answer questions. Lando and Lewis both said his community service was ridiculous. 😂

For me the FIA president has over the years made some very dubious comments with racist undertones. Lewis is clearly unimpressed as he has definitely been treated differently during his whole career.

If you required footballers, rugby players, golfers etc. to wear live microphones the f1 drivers would not seem out of step. You only have to listen to top sportspeople when Martin interviews them on the grid walk at how amazed they are by what the F1 drivers are expected to do so close to the start of the race. The same applies to the press conferences.

I am not a Max fan, but quite frankly he was honestly answering a question and it wasn’t a rant. He didn’t deserve the community service.

Sulusu · 21/09/2024 17:16

Yup I'm totally on Max's side on this. Glad the other drivers seem to be too.

imworkinglatecosimasinger · 21/09/2024 17:26

A fan came up with an idea for community service… time spent in a cat sanctuary as Max loves cats 😂

Don't tell Alex Albon that or he will be swearing non stop in interiews 😆

Alex' Instagram about his cats is very cute.

Brazilianadventure · 22/09/2024 13:09

Yay, Lando managed to stay in the lead.

Fingers crossed can Oscar catch and overtake Max.

I do wonder with RB if they are going to put Liam in the VCARB for the next few races and after Mexico try Yuki or Daniel in the RB for the last couple of races.

DR playing the team game to deny Lando the Grand Slam. Well done Lando a dominant win with pole, win and led all laps.

OP posts:
Sulusu · 22/09/2024 15:07

Dominant race from McLaren, definitely the best car on track today and a good drive from both lads. Excellent race too from Hulkenburg and Colapinto, keeping faster drivers behind them, and Russell defending LeClerc for many laps.

One month break now though :(

Brazilianadventure · 22/09/2024 15:10

I can’t believe no race for a month. However, for the teams it does make sense as 24 races is brutal.

So Lando is 52 points behind Max with 6 races to go but 3 of those are Sprint races. It’s the closest end to the season for a few years.

How many points are up for grabs in the sprint ? I’m pleased we have the sprints - that McLaren is a rocket and surely he has excellent chance of winning those sprints 🙏🏻

Brazilianadventure · 22/09/2024 18:53

I think it’s 8 points for a win down to 1 point for 8th.

Feels a bit weasel depriving Norris of the fastest lap at the end, and possibly makes Daniel feel a bit of a lemming, but I guess it's a good team tactic for RB. Every point might count!
Will miss it for four weeks. It's an exciting year!

DrunkTinkerbell40s · 22/09/2024 21:35

I loved the top 3's chat in the little room before the podium. Max's comment about thinking Lando was going to lap him was entertaining :)

I disagree Kevin Magnussen has done it twice at Singapore. Checo has done it several times to take a point off Lewis and others.

I also think it was a last moment for DR as it’s very likely this was his last F1 race.

I thought it was more about Danny Ric ending his career with his head held high. Is there any evidence Red Bull had any hand in it? Good for him I say.

spottedinthewilds · 23/09/2024 07:52

Gah! What am I going to do for the next 3 weekends!!!???

I might have to do some decorating or something! 🤣
