Can't find a thread so thought I'd start one nice and early for some pre chat.

Really don't think either England or Wales are going to get out of the pool rounds 🙁

Terrible game!
I am confused about the warm up games in general though. I seem to remember proper friendlies as warm up. Why are they risking injuries and over trading against each other? Four games also seems excessive.

Interesting result in the SA v NZ match though.

I was so looking forward to the RWC
have tickets to some of Englands' matches ..now wish i had not bothered with the expense ( tickets, travel, hotels)
feel it is going to be 2015 all over again

My son plays (I can't find a rugby mums chat here for the life of me) and I wanted this to be am inspiration for him....

It's been an incoherent mess, our Captain is a disgrace and there's not a "team" to speak of. Several personalities, not a team.

England are just embarrassingly bad at the moment and so no sign of improvement under Borthwick.
We have tickets to one of their group games in France...will just make the most of it and consume plenty of wine and cheese!

Ooh big Scotland rugby fan here - can I join? I LOVE rugby. Big Glasgow Warriors fan too. I was at Murrayfield on Saturday which was awesome. I don’t think we’ll get out our group either but team are so so up for it.

tough time for England. I’m sort of sympathetic though as a Scotland fan in England for past 25+ years I’ve taken a fair amount of teasing and ridicule from England fans so I feel there is a little bit of karma….

but I’m mostly just excited about wall to wall rugby for next couple of months.

Our house supports Ireland so we're looking forward to the RWC. We went over to Dublin to watch the Ireland v England warm up. It was fantastic. Ireland v Samoa on Saturday was good too, although less of a cruise for Ireland.

You have a tough group @CollieDug but it will be a good watch . England should make it out but judging on the weekends performance it’s looking unlikely.
@Beenhereforever1978 Premiership rugby is better than international. Games are compelling and are never over until they’re over. Shame the clubs are all going to the wall.

England are overplayed. We have a long season, Premiership games, the Europeans at the same time and various summer tours. The RFU needs an overhaul.

I'm aware of how rugby works 😂he's not 5 and just started! He's U15.

We're not playing well, our captain is causing dissent and we're demonstrably pants.

I was at Twickenham to watch the SA match that precipitated the departure of Eddie Jones and FdK ran rings round us. I thought he'd broken his leg but couldn't see any mention in the news after. Anyway he's a properly good nuisance.

@Beenhereforever1978 I'm a rugby mum too 🙂 ds is in u14s but he's out with a neck injury at the moment. He's gutted to be missing the start of the season and I was hoping that the RWC might cheer him up! Judging by the warm up matches I think it probably won't!!

@Beenhereforever1978 Sorry, it was meant as a general chat about the Premiership. They all end up playing for France anyway because they need the money.

I’d love Scotland to get through. Interested to see what Japan can do. Not an ( overpaid) Eddie Jones fan so will be watching what happens with Australia.

I can't wait for the world cup. England fan but have Scottish family so rooting for them too. I am just going to enjoy the rugby rather than expect much from England. I keep thinking it will click soon but it just doesn't. Would love to see Scotland get out the group. Love the way they play at the moment.

Another Scotland supporter here - if Scotland can play 80 consecutive minutes of their best rugby, then who knows... The problem is the 10 minutes or so when they don't. Salvageable against most teams, not so much against SA or Ireland.

But they've had some magic moments this year and whoever is running their social media accounts is doing a great job: they come across as a really likeable and motivated bunch of young men. Very easy to get behind.

Another Scotland fan here! Married to an Italian and live in Wales though so have options.. 🤣

Would love to see Scotland do well as I love the way they play. It's a big ask in that group though.
