And I forgot to add - Mead is Charles' and James' England teammate! I'm not a professional footballer, they see things differently, but I would bear a grudge if they had done it to me.

DuncinToffee · 17/03/2024 10:53

We just seem to be cursed by injuries this season.

And commentators keep saying we need to invest in new players, we don't have the money, arghhh

OP posts:
BellaAmorosa · 17/03/2024 10:56

Who's been injured? From the match v Aston Villa, you mean?

DuncinToffee · 17/03/2024 11:09

No, sorry, I meant throughout the season. I don't think we have played with a fully fit squad yet.

It's just frustration from me. We don't play bad but just missing that cutting edge because we keep missing key players.

Beyond the sock drama, I haven't seen your match v Chelsea yet, will have look at the highlights and James later.

I see. Thanks for clarifying.

DuncinToffee · 24/03/2024 16:05

0-0 in the Goodison Merseyside Derby with Lucy Hope hitting the post for us.

It wasn't a good match but I think we did well with such a depleted squad.

I started watching - KuhlWatch - but couldn't hack it to the end, although I did see Katja Snoejis failing to sort her feet out in front of goal in the second half. I'm glad Liverpool didn't get the three points. With that result and the Manchester derby result yesterday, it gives us a bit of breathing space, especially if we win today. Which isn't a given...

Man City fans, I am extremely envious of your team's slick and accurate passing. Lauren Hemp, Bunny Shaw and Leila Ouahabi especially were terrific yesterday.

DuncinToffee · 24/03/2024 16:18

"Kuhlwatch", I like that Smile

Our former loanee Jess Park did well yesterday.

I see your match has again been delayed by 45 minutes, nothing to do with socks this time, just traffic Grin

Our former loanee Jess Park did well yesterday.
How could I have left her out of my praise - yes, she was exceptional. And in front of Sarina, as well.

Thanks for letting me know about the delay, I hadn't seen that.
This had better not be Trafficgate, is all I'm saying.

DuncinToffee · 24/03/2024 19:05

West Ham got cheated there, nothing wrong with their goal that was disallowed, it wasn't offside.

Time for VAR?

Probably just my curmudgeonly nature, but I am getting so over officials jumping on the Emma Hayes Farewell Tour bus.

Reminds me of the year Leicester City men won the PL. Ridiculous officiating in some cases. Everybody was on the bandwagon.

DuncinToffee · 24/03/2024 19:14

It's not just you feeling like that.

It also annoyed me when they say that Chelsea scored 2 so they would have won anyway had Hammer's goal stood.. You can't know that, an equaliser completey changes the game.

And a minor irritation, Matt Beard complaining that the grass was too long

Between that and the loop long farewell...

just get down the tunnel!!!

MrsMitford3 · 25/03/2024 09:54

Just noticed I missed out a K-obviously meant to be the long Klopp farewell

BellaAmorosa · 25/03/2024 10:12

Leicester have sacked manager Willie Kirk after an investigation into an alleged relationship with a player.

OP posts:
BellaAmorosa · 28/03/2024 18:22

Oh, wow! Big news.
Is this a current player do you know? I know it's not the main issue, but I'm dying to know who it is/was. He is married, I assume. Very messy.

DuncinToffee · 28/03/2024 18:31

I have no idea about the player and I remember his wife/partner having a baby when he was Everton manager

Leicester haven't officially announced it yet

So happy to have won. We've had a disappointing season so this was so important for us.

Chelsea are in too many competitions, but they still looked threatening every time they atacked.

Couldn't believe Emma Hays's reaction towards Jonas at the end.

DuncinToffee · 31/03/2024 19:46

Well done Arsenal!

I was glad to hear that Frida Maanum is talking and in stable condition

Yes, that was scary. She seems so lovely.

That was so tense, but I am so, so happy that we won. We really needed that, as you say. A much, much better performance. I think that is the first time this season when we have put in two good halves in the same game!

I was less happy to see:
Emma Hayes showing once again that she is a terrible loser.
Lauren James doing another spiteful stamp.

We are still the only British team to have achieved the quadruple - and we did it as amateurs against teams of semi- and full professionals.

BellaAmorosa · 31/03/2024 20:10

Bad luck today against Man United, duncintoffee - it started so well, too!
