Football fans join in to share the joy, the heartache and VAR frustration ⚽

The thing about football - the important thing about football - is that it is not just about football.

@YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue I’ll be in an Asian country, seeing family - with the time difference, I can hopefully sneak off at the end of the evening’s festivities to watch it on tv somewhere! Mind you, given the utter bilge that was today’s match against Man Utd (how did we contrive not to score?!), I might be better off skipping it!

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 18/12/2023 09:17

Given the problems we had scoring yesterday, it could be a match full of attacking, but with no goals!

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 18/12/2023 09:28

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 17/12/2023 22:42

Bugger. I've just realised we've got a meal booked with the family next Saturday when the Liverpool Arsenal game is on!

Oh no.

Not sure how I feel about the match. I think that we are capable of beating them, but I am concerned that we will be intimidated by them.

burblish · 19/12/2023 15:24

First Heckingbottom and now, it would appear, Steve Cooper - I find it so off that in both cases it has been reported everywhere as a done deal way before it seems the managers in question have even been formally told themselves that they’re being sacked. Very poor form.

TheSleepingGiant · 19/12/2023 16:51

Indeed, the pressure had been mounting on Cooper but the media have been pushing for this sacking for weeks. Forest's board not coming across well either tbh.

EddieHowesShithousingMags · 19/12/2023 22:31

Fucking football.

And another injury.

Call this entire season off. I’m done.

AndNobbyDancing · 19/12/2023 22:40

I've just been shown the Everton version of ten green bottles- 'ten point desuction' funny.

Sorry Eddie especially as I've just seen the score.

DuncinToffee · 20/12/2023 09:58

I feel gutted as well Eddie

Frustrating match, we were chasing the game rather than taking initiative and its just horrible to go out on penalties.

Just hoping for no new injuries

I really think that you need to concentrate on the league this year. The cup is not important especially with the risk of injuries.

I am pleased that we got knocked out as well and also hope that West Ham give Liverpool a tough game tonight so that they are tired for Saturday.

DuncinToffee · 20/12/2023 10:15

I know that staying in the league and keeping a thin squad injury free is much more important but it just doesn't feel like that.

Winning a cup woud just be amazing and football is all about emotions.

Anyway onto Spurs we go, a long way to go still Football

Yes, but this year of all years, you need to concentrate on the league. There is always next year.

I just look at all the injuries that Newcastle have and are pleased that we don't have to play any extra games especially around Christmas.

I know that it is very unlikely to happen, but I also hope that we are not involved in that ridiculous Club World Cup in 2025 that Wenger is promoting. I don't want to lose Saka or anyone else like we lost Mead and Williamson.

DuncinToffee · 20/12/2023 11:07

I missed what Wenger's ideas are, I can't say that I pay much attention to this club world cup malarkey.

Nuno has been announced by Forest, really dreadful behaviour from the club towards Steve Cooper

Fuck's sake. That is all.

Came to say the same about Gladbach's last game before the winter break.

0-1 away to Eintracht, player sent off in the 80th minute, hung on until 90 then conceded 2 goals in added on time. One of which was an own goal.

EddieHowesShithousingMags · 20/12/2023 22:33

Join me and Duncin on the Fucks Sake Football bench. Plenty of room for all.

DuncinToffee · 20/12/2023 22:51

At least we didn't draw Liverpool in the semi final Smile i'll bring the drinks for the FSF bench Gin

Phew. Spurs v Everton, 2-1. Only just. Was very tense for the last 20 minutes plus.

DuncinToffee · 23/12/2023 17:09

Apart from those sloppy 10 minutes, I am not sure how we lost that game tbh, Spurs were lucky.

Pleased for Luton today after what happened last week.

Haven't seen any of the games, will catch up in a bit.

Bournemouth are now the top performing side in the last five games, and the table looks so odd.

Saints won, sounded scrappy but a win is a win.

EddieHowesShithousingMags · 23/12/2023 17:25

FSF 🙄

DuncinToffee · 23/12/2023 18:04

Hands Eddie a double helping of eggnogg

Managed to get away from social/family duties to watch Liverpool v Arsenal on telly here in India! Disappointed not to win. Worried for Diaz and Tsimikas - neither have been on top form for a while but still injuries we can really do without.

Pleased for Luton and West Ham; shame Nuno didn't get the benefit of the mythical new manager bounce.

TheSleepingGiant · 23/12/2023 20:03

I also haven't seen any games, only the scores due to working today. Pleased with Spurs win though, was quite worried about todays game as we haven't won against Everton in a while.

Gills drew 0-0 last night away to a new team called "Troy Deeney's" Forest Green Rovers Confused I'm going to the next 2 home games on Boxing Day and again under the lights on the 29th. Last 2 performances have been very poor so hoping for an improvement when I go. We play 2 struggling teams on those dates but they seem to be the ones we struggle to beat!

Hope everyone here has a lovely Christmas Xmas Smile

Oblomov23 · 23/12/2023 21:02

We watched the Liverpool v Arsenal game, at least it was interesting.
