Football fans join in to share the joy, the heartache and VAR frustration ⚽

The thing about football - the important thing about football - is that it is not just about football.

🤣🤣 stay salty @YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue

Poor show for us today but there’s only so much the existing squad can give. We give new meaning to threadbare.

Oblomov23 · 11/11/2023 21:41

Spurs losing to wolves. Bad. They deserved the win.

Spurs losing to wolves. Bad. They deserved the win.

I watched most of the game and even as an Arsenal fan I didn't want Wolves to win. They were so thuggish. Poor Son got deliberately hit in the face and in the groin.

They were making nasty tackles and pushing and shoving all the time.

All the referee did was give yellow cards to the Spurs players!

AndNobbyDancing · 11/11/2023 22:51

We obviously watched a different game then as I thought Spurs were poor, I had to check we hadn't gone back in time to last season.

Great win for Bournemouth, I was at the game, honestly no one expected it. The Newcastle players looked dog tired, I do think Europe takes too much out of the smaller teams.

More importantly Saints won.

EddieHowesShithousingMags · 11/11/2023 23:32

We’re exhausted and had 11 players out with injury/banned plus we lost Almiron today as well. 12 players, of which you would say, Botman, Burn, Bruno G, Tonali, Isak, Barnes, Wilson, Murphy and Anderson would have, if available for selection have played some role in todays game. No recognised striker on the pitch, two premier league debuts for actual children combine that with three matches a week. Nay wonder we’re fucked.

Sheffield Bloody Useless Wednesday Nil doing what they do best: losing really badly.

Gladbach however played on Friday night and it was bloody glorious (we're rebuilding our team after a few years with different coaches not reaching our potential). 4-0 against Wolfsburg, and really playing like a team and full of the joy of doing so. And trying to score right up to the final whistle.

And the best thing: 2 of our best players this season have come up through the youth training programme, one has been with us since he was 7.

nettie434 · 12/11/2023 09:17

I do think Europe takes too much out of the smaller teams.

I think that too, but I think experience can help, as West Ham showed in the Europa Conference League. Villa also benefit from having Emery's experience.

Bournemouth actually have some good players. Dominic Solanke is really under rated. They played very well against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup during the week so the result wasn't totally unlikely.

Man Utd got the slot of shame on Match of the Day (the last slot). At the moment, apart from Højlund, the only players doing OK are the ones Ten Hag wanted to get rid of, like Maguire and Lindelof. They are so awful to watch too. The Luton goalkeeper made a couple of good saves but at the moment it's all very Season 3 Mourinho.

Chelsea v City was a great watch for the neutral.

Haaland came out on top in the battle for FPL captain over Salah 🙌🏻

DuncinToffee · 12/11/2023 18:47

Yes, it was a great match with the right result

am on a quick trip to london before heading off to visit my mum (pity Wednesday won't be playing, i could have had the Severe Wednesday Disappointment In Real Life). I bumped into a chap and his little lad (6 today) who had been at the West Ham match. The little boy was so excited, first time at a match, his birthday and they won. The dad said "he can learn about the disappointment of being a Hammer when he's older" and commiserated with me about Wednesday.

Tarkan · 12/11/2023 23:15

I'm so glad the birthday boy got to see a win today. I wasn't sure we would at one point.

Chelsea v City was a crazy match and I'm so glad I was watching that one as a neutral.

Lots of goals today!

Oblomov23 · 13/11/2023 04:44

Nobby, no sorry I didn't mean that, I too meant Spurs were poor and wolves did deserve to win.

Enjoyed the Chelsea v Man City game.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 15/11/2023 09:47

Gordon Bennett! That Michael Owen puff piece for Howard Webb was way beyond cringeworthy!

AndNobbyDancing · 17/11/2023 12:42

Feel for you Dunc

burblish · 17/11/2023 12:43

10 points is huge. There is no way that they can be the only club guilty of this kind of thing. Chelsea and Man City, hello?!

DuncinToffee · 17/11/2023 12:44

I am fuming Angry

Its a joke isn't it. I am hoping it draws attention to the corruption in the PL but it won't.

nettie434 · 17/11/2023 14:02

Points deductions are so unfair. I feel really sorry for Everton, just when things were looking better for them too.

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 17/11/2023 15:21

So sad for Everton.

TheSleepingGiant · 17/11/2023 17:43

Will be very unfair if they now don't punish other clubs in the same way after this. Also crazy that clubs get docked fewer points for actually going into administration 🤔

DuncinToffee · 17/11/2023 17:55

Or receive just a fine for wanting to join a break away Super League because it's not fair on the fans Confused

OP posts:
YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 17/11/2023 17:59

That's horrendous!

Of course, nothing will happen to City...

AndNobbyDancing · 17/11/2023 19:18

That's the problem.

Who does a points deduction affect?

The fans, the players and the whole community, be that the burger sellers, the hotels or the small sports clubs that get community benefit.

Target the board members, or the officials that were part of the dodgy dealing. Hit them with personal fines because they don't care about the club.
