Football is back and so are the fans ⚽

As in previous years, footy fans please sign in with

  1. Which team you support.
  2. Which team(s) you loathe.
  3. How you are getting your kids to follow the correct team.
  4. A thought on this season (Premiership/Championship/Champions’ League/FA Cup/Any leagues world wide)

Ole does this regularly. Pulling saving performances out of a hat is not how to win titles and cups. He just isn't there at the top.

Nuno lovely bloke but I'd agree. A horrible compromised position for him and the club. Obvs he won't resign, but needs an agreement to go. Ole and he don't have what it takes.

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 31/10/2021 15:59

Poor Norwich..can see them doing the usual going down..coming back up.

What dont get when teams start to enter a rot is the oh they players aren't playing for the manager. We have had this a few times at Chelsea. Or they just playing poorly. But as a excuse its rubbish. Don't play for the manager then play for pride and the fans who have made the effort to watch!

Barbadosgirl · 31/10/2021 16:31

Totally agree!

DuncinToffee · 31/10/2021 16:36

Yes, play with pride and commitment and the fans will back you.

Not saying a great manager is surplus to requirements.Ainsworth is fab at Wycombe. I just don’t think discontent with the manager is a reason to play like that!

Labracadabradoodle · 31/10/2021 19:36

Seagulls!
Brighton all the way for me.
Fantastic club, fantastic coach, best owner in the Premier League.

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 01/11/2021 11:33

And Nuno is gone. Shame because he did so well with Wolves but imagin less pressure there as well

DuncinToffee · 01/11/2021 12:00

I guess Wolves was a team he had build. Conte seems to be in the running to replace him.

Sad feel sorry for Nuno, Spurs not the right club for him but hope to see him back in work soon.
Rumour has it Conte will be in charge for Thursdays game against Vitesse.

Barbadosgirl · 01/11/2021 22:06

I also liked Nuno but clearly it did not work.

burblish · 02/11/2021 15:08

Kudos to Spurs for landing Conte at the second time of asking - he is a heavyweight choice. (I wonder what they had to promise him to convince him, given his reputation?) Also interesting to see the rumours linking the newly minted Newcastle Utd with Unai Emery. The managerial merry-go-round is always fascinating!

burblish · 02/11/2021 15:11

(Btw, did anyone watch Doctor Who on Sunday? Loved the Klopp shoutout! Grin)

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 02/11/2021 19:12

Oo good appointment with Conte. Hope he gets the backing though. Needed that with Chelsea really

DuncinToffee · 03/11/2021 16:59

Conte is a good appointment but I would have preferred Nuno to have stayed a weel longer.

Emery ruled himself out of the Newcastle job.

A bit of a treat for Liverpool fans that Dr Who episode.

Guess he got a glimpse to his Spurs life

Guess he got a glimpse to his Spurs life
Yes he can be under no illusions as to the size of the task that awaits him. I am pleased Tottenham have him and am looking forward to seeing what he can do.
LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 05/11/2021 21:35

Ya...and much as dont want Spurs to do well well..I liked Conte so hope he does.

DuncinToffee · 07/11/2021 13:48

Wow, Norwich sack Farke and Aston Villa sack Smith.

OP posts:
LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 07/11/2021 15:04

Been a lot of sackings this week!

DuncinToffee · 07/11/2021 16:03

There can't be many replacements left to choose from.

Looks like Howe is set to sign for Newcastle.

Couldn't watch our game today so settled for audio commentary, bit disappointed that we didn't win but a far better performance.

Deserved red for Holgate, otherwise the Ref was awful. I will have to watch the penalty decision later as the commentators couldn't agree on itGrin

OP posts:
WhiteHartLane · 07/11/2021 18:54

I'd say a draw was fair - point and a clean sheet away is a decent start. Think both decisions were correct, ref could've played the advantage as it was open goal for Everton. I am glad he didn't however.

Be interesting to see who Norwich and Villa appoint. I think sacking Dean Smith is disappointing though, losing their talisman was always going to affect them and he should've been given longer.
