Football is back and so are the fans ⚽

As in previous years, footy fans please sign in with

  1. Which team you support.
  2. Which team(s) you loathe.
  3. How you are getting your kids to follow the correct team.
  4. A thought on this season (Premiership/Championship/Champions’ League/FA Cup/Any leagues world wide)

Liverpool fan but love Kalvin Phillips

DuncinToffee · 21/08/2021 17:49

We had to do with audio commentary today but that made it even more of an exciting match. We probably should have won but take a point at a full Elland Road any day.
Hopefully Godfrey will be back soon instead of Keane. 💙⚽

1.Arsenal. Always and forever.
2.Spuds. Obvs.

  1. I grew up in Finsbury Park, so it was always going to be Arsenal for me. Met DH, who's a Palace fan, and moved south of the river. Both kids are Palace fans which is fine with me because they support their local team. DS got his first palace season ticket when he was 8.
  2. It pains me to say it, but Chelsea for the title. Arsenal will finish 6th.
sluj · 22/08/2021 10:18
  1. Wolves
  2. Hate West Brom obviously but also London teams, and Villa
  3. I bought both of my sons Wolves gear and kits from about 3 months old. They are both dedicated supporters but have never lived within a hundred miles of Wolverhampton. They managed to avoid the local Arsenal/Spurs pull
  4. Just looking forward to the whole season. Excited but nervous to see Raul Jimenez back at Molineux today after his head injury last season. 🤞
WhiteHartLane · 22/08/2021 17:48

Backs to the wall at times but a good win - would have lost a game like last season. Wolves were relentless but not their day. First win for Gillingham yesterday Football

danadas · 22/08/2021 18:11

Ahh glad to have found this thread.

  1. Everton
  2. Hate the Shite
  3. My husband and kids are all Koppites which makes me want to vomit 😭
  4. Midtable I reckon this season.

I would have been happy with a point before kick off yesterday but felt frustrating afterwards!

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 22/08/2021 18:34

Finally..its been a while since we won against Arsenal.

DuncinToffee · 22/08/2021 19:33

danadas Benitez' appointment must have been akward in your house.

If only Dom had taken one of his chances...
I enjoyed Demarai Gray's knee slide celebration Grin

Leicester city season ticket holder but live in North Wales.
Don't really dislike any other team.
Partner supports Liverpool as does one son in law.
Another son in law supports Wigan.
Any future grandchildren will be blue army from birth 👍
Would love top 4 but I'm just so thankful to be back in the stadium

PeaAndHamSoupFromAChicken · 23/08/2021 23:34
  1. West Ham
  1. I'm too nice to loathe any. I may dislike some other London teams but only really when we play them. Grin
  1. I can't. The blighters have both sworn allegiance to Chelsea. Hmm
  1. I'm just enjoying the table (and tonight's result) since I know it won't last long. Can we not just stop now? GrinGrinGrin
ChiefAdjusterOfRubensShorts · 28/08/2021 08:21
  1. Which team you support - Man City
  2. Which team(s) you loathe - Man Utd and Liverpool
  3. How you are getting your kids to follow the correct team - DS has no choice.
  4. A thought on this season (Premiership/Championship/Champions’ League/FA Cup/Any leagues world wide) - No idea about the Prem, it’s wide open this year, as is the CL I think.

Was never bothered when there was talk of Ronaldo coming to City, he’s too big of an ego for us and Pep doesn’t like that so quite rightly we walked away.

And let’s not even mention Mendy, we should have offloaded him last year and now he’s in prison!

I’m glad our defence is shored up now, Ruben Dias is just class and it’s his name on the back of my shirt this year.

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 28/08/2021 13:55

I like Arteta he seems a nice bloke but think he'll be gone soon. Know rivalry and all but sad to see how far they've fallen. A lot guess stems from the owner but unless that changes..

DuncinToffee · 28/08/2021 14:15

Hope they give Arteta time.

Our team selection looks very thin today, must be down to injuries/illnesses.

Good away win! I thought we would struggle, glad I was wrong Grin

Demarai Gray is looking quite the bargain buy ⚽️

I hope Arteta is given more time. The sack him brigade forget that he's won 2 trophies since his appointment. The squad looks thin admittedly, but I really have faith in Arteta. Having said that, I also thought we were too quick to sack Emery.

AndNobbyDancing · 28/08/2021 22:54

Still miss @belfastbloke never found out why they stopped posting, hope it was just because new horizons called.

  1. Which team you support. Southampton but also follow managers, so can love or hate a team depending on choice (ie Roy Hodgson meant I loved the team, Mourinho less so)
  2. Which team(s) you loathe. Watford, coz they cheat
  3. How you are getting your kids to follow the correct team. They don't, failed with one on sport (rugby) and two on team (Tottenham)
  4. A thought on this season (Premiership/Championship/Champions’ League/FA Cup/Any leagues always want those that have been promoted to stay up, enjoying seeing Arsenal bottom of the table. Think City, United, Spurs will be the top three.
1happyhippie · 28/08/2021 22:57

Support Chelsea
Dislike spurs and Arsenal
Ds supports city, dd1 Chelsea and dd2 isn’t remotely interested 😂
Think we are looking good season so Chelsea for the league cup I hope.

But his choices and big changes seem mental, one, off target attempt on goal? He'd have been better asking the team to piggy back and stand it the goal.
DuncinToffee · 28/08/2021 23:09

AndNobby, Belfastbloke posted on the Euros thread, hopefully he will join in some time soon. I haven't seen MrPan around.

Not sure how I missed that then, gosh forgotten about MrPan.

Watching MOTD now, the arsenal game was worse second time round.

Funny when the Everton boys argue about the pen

That and who will be brought in and who would want to. Especially with way things are at the club from the looks of things. It is sad! Think next few games will be the decider. As it stands they're level with Norwich exactly.. 3 played all lost and 9 conceded.

Today's result..I'll take a point after the sending off.. annoying to miss chances but didn't fall apart.

AndNobbyDancing · 28/08/2021 23:35

LetsGoFlyAKiteee Arsenal have more red cards than goals, and a worse deficit than Norwich

DuncinToffee · 28/08/2021 23:36

I haven't watched MOTD yet, was it a sending off? The majority of the comments I have seen said it was harsh but they may have been biased.

Re our penalty, Richarlison just wants to score goals and sulks when he doesn't. He was the first to run up to DCL though and he works his socks off.

OP posts:
skippy67 · 29/08/2021 09:14

Yeah, it was a sending off. He didn't actually make contact, but it was a reckless, out of control tackle. Typical Xhaka really. No need for it. Still, he's out for 3 matches, so might be a good thing!

Oblomov21 · 29/08/2021 09:16

Watching MOTD from caravan bed. Loving all the red cards - Arsenal and Chelsea. Handbags but not quite a fight.
