James sending off..I'd say so. It hit his hand but from his thigh I looked but if been up the other end we'd been screaming for it.

DuncinToffee · 29/08/2021 09:52

Yes sorry, I meant the James one, the Xhaka was a red any day.

The refereeing and VAR have been ptetty good so far, long may it last.

Dh bet weeks ago that captain Scarlett will be the first sacking.

After the stupidness of it all last year...hopefully this carries on but sure they'll be some wtf moments.
DuncinToffee · 29/08/2021 10:46

It wouldn't be right without the WTF moments Grin

Our Carabao cup ref was bad, 2 good goals disallowed and a very soft red card, apparently that ref has form.

Very nice of AndNobby to miss me - I got a notification because of the @. There’s been a bit of shielding and retreating from the online world as well, but generally fine, bless you.

Tough to talk about Arsenal right now, even with you all I’ve been chatting with for ages. But I always expected to lose the Chelsea and Citeh games, so I’m still on an even keel.

Good luck to you all (except Chelsea fans).

DuncinToffee · 13/09/2021 22:43

What a mad game, going from 1-0 down to 3-1 up in 6 minutes and what a goal from Andros Townsend! UTFT ⚽️

Just came on here to see if you had been watching, won't lie I wanted Burnley to win but Everton deserved it. What a free transfer you have in Townsend

DuncinToffee · 13/09/2021 23:50

Have to admit that when Burnley scored I thought that would be it. We haven't seen this fighting spirit from an Everton team for a long time.

Townsend is proving me wrong and that is more than fine with me Grin

First loss under Rafa, missing key players and no real replacements on the bench. Ah well, we go again 💙⚽️

Very sad to hear of the passing of Jimmy Greaves - lots of touching tributes to him to read online. RIP.

DuncinToffee · 19/09/2021 12:09

I just read that, let's hope Spurs get a good result today.

They did.... Horrible first half. Fab second half...job done.

Kane...he is gone. I think they should get cut their losses if they can cause he looked so disinterested

DuncinToffee · 19/09/2021 18:42

Oof LetsGoFlyAKiteee Grin

Some dodgy penalty decisions in the West Ham v Man U match, not sure what Moyes was thinking, and well Atkinson...

OP posts:
LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 19/09/2021 18:55

I dont get that penalty moment. Know maybe the usual guy but..having the sub come on and take penalties didn't work in Euros and didn't work today. Must feel bad his own touch was a miss

WhiteHartLane · 19/09/2021 19:03

Spurs strong 1st half, cast adrift in the 2nd half. Chelsea have a squad to envy. Kane will come good though, I have faith. Bad week for both my teams - Gillingham lost 4-1 to the Franchise yesterday.

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 23/09/2021 19:43

Wow..2 penalty shoot outs won in a row! Probably be it for the next 5 years or so but...makes a nice change

DuncinToffee · 23/09/2021 21:46

Nothing changed for us, lost a shoot out and exit the cup early yet again, sigh.

And James left, never having played a match in front of the fans at Goodison. Will make a good quiz question Grin

DuncinToffee · 26/09/2021 10:26

Back to winning at home, not a great game but that's ok.

And well done to Brentford, they are having a great PL start.

OP posts:
WhiteHartLane · 26/09/2021 11:38

Norwich are strange - teams can't lay a glove on them in the Championship but are so underwhelming during their stints in the PL. The lure of the parachute payment must be too strong Grin Brentford are really showing them up!

Nervous for the NLD later, Arsenal are playing better than us atm - 3 clean sheets albeit against not great opposition. Spurs have reverted back to leaking goals again Sad

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 26/09/2021 13:35

Can see Norwich being like West Brom used to be..sort of boing up and down between the 2 leagues.
Nice to see promoted teams doing well! Hope it continues for Brentford

Hmmm depends what Spurs turn up for you. Started well against us last week so if can do that..never know. Though like you say Arsenal have found their feet.

WhiteHartLane · 26/09/2021 19:55

Found their feet? Absolutely dominated the 1st half. Yet another embarrassing Spurs performance - 2 small positives - Bryan Gil and an actual league goal!
Better result for Gillingham - 2 draws this week against Charlton and Oxford.

DuncinToffee · 02/10/2021 14:51

Happy with the result today, this team knows how to fight and we should have our strikers back after the international break. Townsend celebration was funny Grin

The media love in with Ronaldo is embarrassing though.

OP posts:
WhiteHartLane · 02/10/2021 15:17

A celebration Ronaldo would be proud of Grin
Unlucky to just get a point, shame Davis didn't go for goal himself though - he had plenty of space.

DuncinToffee · 02/10/2021 15:56

Yes shame indeed, maybe lack of confidence. I would have taken a point before the match, now I am a bit disappointed it wasn't 3 but still happy with the way we played.
It's good to see Benitez coaching from the sidelines, I do womder what he writes in that little notebook.
