I thought it was a penalty but wouldn't have been happy if it was given against us Wink Completely agree he should have played advantage.

Good win for Moyes

Feels like only yesterday when utd sacked Moysey. Well he did have it coming, but Ole? I think the board will stay their hand if only for lack of available replacements plus the usual loyalty. The fans have been magnificent in the circs.

So Villa have poached Gerrard from Rangers - I don’t think Gers fans are going to be happy about that. Villa and Gerrard don’t feel like a natural fit to me, but I guess it was always his goal to manage in the Premier League sooner or later.

DuncinToffee · 11/11/2021 10:47

Ultimately he wants the Liverpool job, doesn't he. He reminds me of Koeman and his Barcelona dream

So Howe at Newcastle and Gerrard at Villa, who next?

@DuncinToffee - “Ultimately he wants the Liverpool job, doesn't he.”

Yep, and I hope he will get it some day in the distant future, but I want Klopp to stick around as long as possible! Grin

Dean Smith appointed as the new Norwich manager

Good win for us! Shouldve been 6 if could learn to not go offside!

I'd be veryyy surprised if Ole is in charge on Sunday when we meet. There's a meeting going on so guess he is off? Nice bloke but that doesn't get you far if dont know what to do

burblish · 20/11/2021 19:30

What a day of Premier League football - extraordinary number of goals and some really notable results. Hard to see how Ole can hold on. As a Liverpool fan, I’m annoyed that Leicester capitulated so easily to Chelsea! Chelsea are looking ominously strong this season - I really wasn’t convinced by them last season, Champions League notwithstanding, but they’ve raised their game now.

WhiteHartLane · 20/11/2021 21:01

Great results for both your teams, @burblish you must be happy for Gerrard and his 1st Villa win Smile

Who do you think will replace Ole? So happy Tottenham swooped for Conte when they did. Rodgers has been mentioned but I've been disappointed with Leicester - they have started this season in the same terrible form they ended the last in but he seems to be escaping criticism thus far.

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 20/11/2021 23:01

Rumours of Zidane as Well floating. Not sure if Rodgers would leave Leicester..
Was surprised by their performance today! If could've stayed onside it could've been 5 or 6. Their defence was a bit all over the place.

DuncinToffee · 20/11/2021 23:59

Yes an exciting day of football today.

Fabrizio Romano has tweeted that the MU board has decided to fire Ole, mutual agreement to part way now considered.
Once Joel Glazer approves the decision, it will be confirmed and announced by Man United.

It really is a rollercoaster season for managers so far.

It’s official - Ole is out. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54826343

DuncinToffee · 21/11/2021 17:46

I expected a loss today but I also expected the team showing fight and energy, this was just dreadful. Good goals from City but I wasn't impressed with some of their diving.

We seem to be cursed with injuries, hope Gray won't be out too long.

I see Messi has won the Ballon d’Or again. I was disappointed to see Salah was only 7th, especially given his current form. It’s a shame for Lewandowski, too; I guess the Copa America success tipped it for Messi (who is a genius, no quibbles in that respect). Reading a lot of the predictions that pundits were making beforehand, though, I’ve never understood the thinking that you need to have won a trophy to be in the running - surely the Ballon d’Or is about individual brilliance, not whether your team has triumphed?

ragged · 30/11/2021 20:15

Is anyone watching the women's game tonight (Eng v. Latvia)?
Bit of a blood bath.
We very slightly know someone who scored, so that was good to see.
Wondering if score will reach 20:NIL

DuncinToffee · 30/11/2021 20:40

They have 19 with 6 minutes to go

OP posts:
DuncinToffee · 30/11/2021 20:43

burblish it seems to be all about who has the best PR.

OP posts:
DuncinToffee · 30/11/2021 20:44

And Lauren Hemp makes it 20

OP posts:
ragged · 30/11/2021 21:04

I gather it's first time Hemp scroed for England & then she does a Hat-trick+1. Shock

Last one was a corker too -- well, most of the goals were.

I wondered how the losing side keeps their morale up in a situation like that. Most be its own area to research in Sports Science !

burblish · 01/12/2021 19:51

@DuncinToffee

burblish it seems to be all about who has the best PR.
Sadly, I think you’re probably right.
DuncinToffee · 02/12/2021 08:28

Expected loss but it still hurts.

Good article on the BBC from Phil McNulty about the fans feelings, he is right.

I'm surprised at how it's going under Rafa...he usually gets it so right. Wonder if he'll be given time or be gone..just seems off..

Woops we lost!

WhiteHartLane · 05/12/2021 21:03

Hopefully Rafa will be given time, they have had a hard time injury wise. Although its being reported that Mourinho could replace him Wink

I think Chelsea were a bit unfortunate to lose yesterday but the women's team were victorious today.

Enjoyed today's Spurs game, much more positive. Loved Moura's goal. Very relieved we didn't lose a 5th London derby mid-week too, 4's quite enough!

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 06/12/2021 22:00

All gone wrong for Jose..bless

Awww nice for Everton to win after those VAR offside goals!
