Oooh I bet that was satisfying. Is the world much much louder now?

MoominUnderWater · 04/07/2025 22:06

So much louder. I literally couldn’t hear my alarm clock this morning and now everything is so loud 😁

TooDarnHotNeedAFan · 04/07/2025 22:07

Was that from one ear or both? You must hear so much better now.

HelpMeGetThrough · 04/07/2025 22:08

Great picture!!!

Includes the “crime scene” ruler too!!!

Idoloveaparsnip · 04/07/2025 22:08

shellyleppard · 04/07/2025 22:09

Ooo that is a good harvest 🍕 its like something from the audiology assoclates on YouTube!!

Tiredandtiredagain · 04/07/2025 22:09

Good lord!!

MoominUnderWater · 04/07/2025 22:14

It’s both ears. One big nugget from each. Loads of little chunks from both previously. This was actually second syringing attempt of the day. I got smaller bits out earlier but still felt bunged up so left it for a bit and went back.

i have a widget

Did you need to put oil in for a while befofe?

FatFilledTrottyPuss · 04/07/2025 22:31

How on earth do people get to have ears that do that and is it wrong that I’m envious?!

It’s genetic. My 23and me report says I’m genetically predisposed to waxy ears and it’s not wrong 😁

Jealous, tbh

SummerFrog25 · 04/07/2025 23:48

There's no way I'd be game enough to do this myself, it's just SO easy to damage your ears.

I used to love having my ears syringed though, it's so hard to find someone to do it now. Well, someone reputable anyway.

WizardofCoz · 04/07/2025 23:50

😮

Ireallycantthinkofagoodone · 05/07/2025 00:29

The safer option nowadays is micro suction. I have that done every 12-18 months. No need to use any products in my ears.

Do you get it done just when you know there’s a problem or is it more of a regular maintenance thing?

OP posts:
MoominUnderWater · 05/07/2025 06:43

Still feels like there’s something in one ear, not sure if wax or water so think I’ll leave it and see what happens. I don’t want to go in again so soon.

I find my ears start to ‘itch’ when they are needing to be cleared. I hate it if they block altogether.

I have always had trouble with my ears, since I was a child - a lot of earache etc. As an adult, twice my right ear drum has been perforated by overzealous syringing by different GP’s. It’s exceedingly painful and the ensuing dizziness is insane. I would never risk it happening again. The micro suction is much safer.

It’s not available on the NHS of course, but to me it’s a price worth paying.

Dh has it done at Specsavers. He has one ear that often gets blocked.

BruisedNeckMeat · 05/07/2025 08:59

Ooh that’s impressive!

When we visit USA we buy earwax removal kits. It comes with a solution you leave in your ear to fizz for ten minutes and a squirty water gadget.

I have never seen anything like what came out of DH’s ear. It was like a Witchety Grub!

Bryonyberries · 05/07/2025 10:44

I got myself an ear camera and little spoon kit thing after I had to DIY syringe my ear a few years ago. I can now keep an eye on if anything is building up.

BippidyBoppety · 05/07/2025 12:21

Fabulous! I like to watch the two Welsh guys on YouTube with their extractions (Audiology Associates). Find myself holding my breath at times ....

I have psoriasis in both ears and the dry flaky skin inside an ear is the most irritating thing on Gods green earth.

TheChosenTwo · 05/07/2025 12:25

Oh wow, INCREDIBLE scenes 😂😂🥳
