If you ignored an ingrown hair for years, would it look like this?

If you can zoom in, nestled discretely amongst the freckles, you'll see what I think is an ingrown hair. There's a hole, but the bump within the hole is completely healed over by skin. It's kinda greyish, and looks beyond the sterilised needle and poke it treatment. Been there for years, having previously been poked, squeezed, hot flanneled and mag sulphed. It doesn't hurt and is kind of camouflaged but I'm curious to know what's lurking beneath. Any suggestions?

That is not at all beyond a good sterilised need and a thorough poke. Pictures preferred but video better please and ty!

(Disclaimer: not a medical professional, just seriously over invested).

It reminds me of a pore of weiner/wiener. They're on YouTube, have a browse for inspiration.

ClaudiaWinklepanda · 28/04/2024 21:03

Dig it out.

RicherThanYews · 28/04/2024 21:06

You need one of these.

I've googled that, RicherThanYews and that's exactly what it looks like. Thank you.
The videos online, WOW! That's a rabbit hole to revisit.
Removal seems a bit more than your average MNetter's ability though.
It's totally healed over and about the size of an uncooked lentil.
I've one of those blackhead remover things kicking around somewhere. Maybe DP would have a dig at it as I think I'd be too gentle.

OK. DP's going for it. He's looking for his specs, I'm sterilising the implements of removal. Bear with me.

I need to see what pops out 😂

Cesarina · 28/04/2024 22:04

@Justmuddlingalong
I second the suggestion that it may be a Dilated Pore of Winer..........yes, seriously!
I'd never heard of them till they were mentioned here on MN a few years ago.
I have one on my back - got DH to completely squeeze it out for me, (sorry guys, should have filmed it for Sporners' Corner!😂), but it came back.
I've done research and apparently the only way to get rid of it for good is to have it excised by a dermatologist. But I believe they are harmless!

Justmuddlingalong · 28/04/2024 22:05

Ouch, ouch, ouch. He's digging about breaking the skin. Nothing as yet.
God, this man's a keeper.

Something's slowly popping out.

Cesarina · 28/04/2024 22:09

@Justmuddlingalong .........sorry, should have emphasised that it didn't behave like your average blackhead in that removal wasn't permanent. But you may have better luck.
I have popcorn ready waiting for your post.........

Justmuddlingalong · 28/04/2024 22:10

You ready, it's here?

Gingerbreadmoon · 28/04/2024 22:14

I had my ears microsuctioned today, I’m wondering if this is going to dwarf that…?

Justmuddlingalong · 28/04/2024 22:15

It's fabulous. Like a wee, teeny tiny kidney. It's left a perfect wee punch hole in my leg.
