And this is what the back of my mouth looks like today Envy It's gruesomely fascinating.

Shock
wrapsuperstar · 25/06/2017 12:49

Oh my god. You weren't kidding with the klaxon. Incredible stuff!

Reow · 25/06/2017 12:53

Wow

ThomasRichard · 25/06/2017 12:54

I'm making the most of it before the drugs the hospital gave me wear off and it starts to hurt. No more tonsil stones!

Shock Is it painful? I suffer from tonsillitis so much and am considering getting mine removed
ThomasRichard · 25/06/2017 13:04

mortificado it's very swollen and quite uncomfortable but not actually painful. I'm well stocked up on liquid paracetemol, ibuprofen, dispersible aspirin and anaesthetic throats spray for when the morphine wears off though. Hopefully never because I'm alternating between being fast asleep and waking up as high as a kite Grin

Oh my goodness!

Hope you heal well and quickly.

BeepBeepMOVE · 25/06/2017 13:35

What's all the grey stuff? IS the the actual back of your throat? Why is it so grey?!

ThomasRichard · 25/06/2017 13:42

The grey stuff is scabs. It's seriously gross.

OP posts:
TheSleeperandTheSpindle · 25/06/2017 13:44

Wow! Shock

Wish you a speedy recovery and more gross pics

MrsHathaway · 25/06/2017 14:02

That grey stuff looks like the bad half of my placenta after DC3 arrived (just in time, evidently). Is it hard?

AmyGardner · 25/06/2017 14:08

Just a warning: I felt pretty good after mine came out. Days 3-6 were shockingly painful.

Ride the painkiller wave while you can GrinFlowers

ThomasRichard · 25/06/2017 16:37

That's what I'm not looking forward to Amy :(

They're not hard, a bit jelly-like and bits keep falling off.

ThomasRichard · 26/06/2017 10:00

Today's photo. They feel very swollen and I'm less inclined to talk today but still not really hurting.

OP posts:
ThomasRichard · 27/06/2017 10:04

Day 3: everything hurts. The area has swollen up so my neck, tongue, ears and cheeks hurt as well as my throat. I'm trying to be diligent in keeping up with the scratchy foods so have a bowl of Twiglets right now. Sore throat spray, liquid paracetemol and ibuprofen and drinking lots of water all seem to help too.

OP posts:
MrsHathaway · 27/06/2017 10:23

Yowch. Hope things improve soon.

AmyGardner · 27/06/2017 10:32

Ah no, I was hoping you'd escape the Day 3 misery!

I had to go back to the GP as the Tramadol I had wasn't quite cutting it.

OverAndAbove · 27/06/2017 10:36

Wow - gruesomely fascinating is EXACTLY what it is!

Hope it gets more comfortable soon Flowers

ThomasRichard · 27/06/2017 10:47

Shock No one's offered me Tramadol! I'm booking a GP appointment this afternoon to get some. This morning I was happily dreaming about conversing with the frogs in my boyfriend's garden so goodness knows what extra drugs will do.

OP posts:
ThomasRichard · 27/06/2017 16:40

Woo, I have liquid morphine! No pain and I feel very sleepy and rather high. 😴

OP posts:
JudasHisCarrot · 27/06/2017 21:38

Enjoy it! I fucking loved liquid morphine Halo

soimpressed · 27/06/2017 21:43

I am on the list to have mine out. Please keep updating with your progress! I'm quite old. Is the pain worse the older you are?

Mrsmorton · 27/06/2017 21:50

Oh god, it was so sore. I happily accepted painkilling suppositories, I nearly cried every time I needed to swallow.

Looks good tho! Grin

ThomasRichard · 28/06/2017 08:42

soimpressed I've repeatedly heard that it's worse for adults than children but I don't know how it grades after that. I'm 29. The pain isn't worse than a sore throat, it's more the swelling that's bothersome.

This is today's photo: more debrasion required, looking at those grey bits!

I looked up my thread on my tonsil stones for a bit of encouragement. They were gross and I'm glad to be rid of them. It was horrible being so self-conscious about my breath all the time and knowing there wasn't anything I could do about it. Thread with yucky tonsil stone pic here.
