How do I stop concealer sitting in the fine lines under my eyes? With no make up the wrinkles aren’t noticeable but unfortunately the dark eye bags means I need make up but with concealer the fine lines look so much worse! I’ve tried using less make up so no foundation under my eye only concealer and primer

bubbletubble · 25/03/2024 20:56

My face has large pores, dry patches, red patches round the nose, dark circle and I have the odd spot. I'm not an ogre, promise!

Does any such foundation exist which would cover all the above without looking like I'm caked in foundation?!

FloofyKat · 26/03/2024 00:36

What’s the best make-up approach for those of us in the 60+ age range?

Fizzysister · 26/03/2024 00:50

What brands do cool toned contour products? How do you contour away jowls?

lovemyflipflops · 26/03/2024 09:32

Just how can I conceal dark circles under my eyes ? and match this with a foundation and highlighters - and make it look as natural as i can to match my skin tones ?

DewinDwl · 26/03/2024 14:08

I have pale olive skin tone. I have developed rosacea on my cheeks and now find that the foundation that works with the pale olive doesn't work with the rosacea redness at all. What foundation do you recommend? I have an oily t zone with large pores and feel like giving up on make up altogether to be honest.

Thank you

I'd love some contouring tips - but I would like to make my contouring as natural as I can - around my chin and cheekbones, but I dont have a clue as to how to blend effectively and not just have the make-up blend into one colour - I'd love a video tutorial or a beginner - do you have one ?

NiceNiche · 28/03/2024 03:55

I love IT CC cream, and I know it has a high SPF, but I like to use a sunscreen as well. Would you run through the layering of serum, moisturiser, sunscreen, primer, cc cream/foundation etc. there is so much out there now, do I need it all? Do I need to wait between layers of product?

many thanks

Which brand has the best sustainability credentials and is free from toxic chemicals?

upanddowns · 28/03/2024 19:06

Great thread! I've yet to find a foundation that looks natural but hides imperfections and balances out my colour. I'd be very interested to know how to find this. I've had consultations in shops, but when I get home with a sample or tube the colour never looks right! Also what brand would you recommend?

MumC2141 · 28/03/2024 20:19

Are there good websites for learning how to apply makeup well?

OverTheCountryClub · 28/03/2024 20:44

What's the best way to counteract an otherwise good foundation (good colour match, nice formula, lovely finish) that oxidises? I have a foundation that should be perfect and looks great when it's just been applied, but within 10-20 minutes I've turned orange!

DinkyDaffodil · 29/03/2024 06:57

How would I apply a foundation and what with (sponge or brush) to put the correct amount without my skin looking unnatural - I tried and felt I looked soo different to my 'normal'

JacCharlton · 29/03/2024 14:02

Should I put concealer on before or after foundation ? Which would give the best results - I have slight sunspots on my face I want to hide

ToriTheStoryteller · 30/03/2024 05:04

What make up would you recommend for peri-meno disappearing eyebrows and eyelashes? I have pale skin and pale blue/grey eyes so without that definition my whole face looks like a blur!

bossybloss · 30/03/2024 16:53

Where are the answers to the queries above?

bossybloss · 30/03/2024 19:38

Ah, thank you. I didn’t read that bit! 🤣

PermanentTemporary · 30/03/2024 19:45

I'm 54 with very pale skin and massive red patches and broken veins. I gave up on makeup a long time ago as I looked around and thought nobody my age looked better with it. Anything that covers the red just looks like a special spotlight on my pores.

If I were to dip my finger back into it, where would you advise me to start?

pickledandpuzzled · 30/03/2024 19:50

I suit cool toned make up. What does that mean about my skin? Is it cool or warm?

I don’t understand the undertones business! 😬

I have a pallet of corrective creams, but can’t work out which colour works best for my under eye shadows. Can powders do the same thing? I’m not keen on the texture of the creams on my skin. It looks uneven.

Cotswoldmama · 30/03/2024 19:59

Any tips on how I can get my skin to look less shiny? I have naturally oily skin and spf seems to always give quite a shine. I use a light foundation after spf and then powder to set and mattify but within an hour or so I will have a shine.

indecisivewoman81 · 30/03/2024 20:21

As I am getting older my makeup isn't lasting the whole day. By the afternoon my chin is often pink and patchy; what can I do to combat this?

LadySpratt · 31/03/2024 08:01

Hi Rose, how do you go about finding a new skincare brand or routine? I found Decléor (including the tinted cream) suited my skin to a tee, but since it’s been taken off the market (L'Oréal, why?) I’m somewhat lost. There are so many brands claiming so many things that it could take an age and a lot of mistakes and money to find ‘the one’. Thank you.

itsywitsy · 31/03/2024 09:04

What is the best cleanser to use, and how long before applying make up should you ideally be exfoliating and moisturising ?

Nicetobenice67 · 31/03/2024 17:27

Can you tell me of a dewy glow foundation that actually works please
