Hi there,

Please can you explain if possible why some people develop long Covid while others do not? Long Covid is even effecting those who are classed as 'young' and without underlying Health issues?

Although Covid symptoms aren't severe in most children should we be concerned that years down the line when these children are adults will they struggling with respiratory issues ? Will their life span be shortened or things like lung transplants required or breathing apparatus needed in daily life when they are in their 20s 30s or 40s ?

If you have had covid badly enough to be hospitalised and are triple jabbed, how likely is it that a second infection would be as bad?

Will the antibody test show how well protected someone is after having covid, or is it just a yes/no for the presence of antibodies?

What sort of things should we keep an eye on if a child who has has covid already had asthma? Eg, if the asthma/breathing seems generally a bit worse/happening more regularly, should I see the GP about working out if it is long covid?

I am 47, I have cfs, fibro, thyroid problems and anxiety and I got covid in October.
Will I forever be unable to smell, feel exhausted and feel like only the top part of my lungs work?

I had covid in September last year and my sense of smell has still not come back. It is at maybe 10% if that. Will it ever come back fully or will I suffer with this for the rest of my life. It’s amazing how much it affects your life, not being able to smell if somethings burning, or if the milk or the chickens off of if your house smells of cat wee as the litter needs changing.

I'm just getting over Covid, day 13 after testing positive. I am still so tired, yet struggling to get to sleep at night. Sometimes I have insomnia until well after midnight. Is this a post-covid thing? And when will it get better?

Hello!
First of all just want to say thank you for all you're doing.

With my children (aged 13, 10 and 3) - nine at the moment Dont have the jab.
What are the known long term effects of the jabs and what are the percentage of children developing long Covid?

The longer symptoms of Covid - are they lessened with the jab or is the jab just to try and prevent Covid (but once got it is just the same)

Are there going to be more boosters in the future?

Another question about taste and smell.

I had covid almost 5 months ago and completely lost my sense of taste and smell. My taste is little better I can now taste sweet, salty, sour etc, but no sense of flavour. But smell is getting worse not better, I now have a constant burning smell which is driving me crazy.

Is there anything I can do to speed up my sense of taste and smell returning?

After catching COVID once are you less likely to catch it again as you'd have some immunity or so you have the same chance as there are so many variants?

Hiya, had Covid in Autumn 2020. I had very severe headaches with ear and throat pain. Don't my consider myself a long Covid case as am pretty much fully recovered - apart from nasty tinnitus, particularly on the right side. It's quite distracting at times. Will it ever go away or is my hearing permanently damaged?

Do you have any advice for how to approach dealing with health care professionals who do not believe in Long Covid in children and will not refer to paediatricians or the children's Long Covid clinics? There children who are not even getting to see specialists in the Long Covid Clinics or to see a paediatrician due to gatekeeping. Sometimes parents are being left to fight battles and threatened with fines by schools who say children should be back in education when they are not well enough because they are not getting the support they need from medical professionals.

Do you get some sort of immunity after testing positive with covid and if so, how long for? Also, having had it before (luckily I wasn't very seriously ill, it felt more like having a bad cold/flu), can I get infected again and feel worse?
On another note, I have two young children (2.5 and 2 months old), at what point do you think we will have a vaccine for children aged 1 year+?
