Can long affect the eyes? Since covid had my first retinal migraine, lots of flashes and a vitreous humour haemorrhage, more flashes! Now blurry on and off depending on the day!

HouseholdBubblesandEeeeek · 15/02/2022 18:40

Hubby had very sore fingers last year and saw several different doctors. Although he was given different medication to try, they weren’t sure what it was but wondered if it might have been COVID related. I read about COVID fingers and toes on the internet but I don’t think it was ever officially recognised as a symptom here. He never actually tested positive for COVID so it’s a bit of a mystery! Just wondered if anyone else had had a similar experience?

We all had very mild covid theee weeks ago. Almost symptomless but dh developed a nasty cough 14 days cagey testing positive. Of is now negative but cough remains. Could this be mild long covid

yogafairy · 15/02/2022 20:16

I seem to have developed some kind of allergy since getting covid in early December. I'm constantly sneezing and have an itchy nose.

I haven't changed anything in the home and it's the same wherever I go. I also feel like I have an odd tingle at the back of my throat making me want to cough whenever I take a deep breath. I've now had this for 10 weeks.

Theimpossiblegirl · 15/02/2022 21:28

I know a few people who have had classic coronavirus symptoms, felt very ill and now have symptoms similar to long covid but never had a positive covid test, despite lateral flows and PCRs.
Could they have had covid and is there a way of finding out?

gingerhills · 15/02/2022 23:53

Since getting Covid just over a week ago, I have been getting sharp pains in the front of my shoulder and down my arm. I read online this is quite common - please can you explain why?

gingerhills · 15/02/2022 23:55

I had a really bad case of flu a few years ago, which a friend and her son caught too. All three of us had post viral fatigue for a year or more. It was horrendous. Could be PVF, if not Long Covid , and it is very hard to shake off.

How does covid tend to affect people with M. E. / C. F. S.?
Thank you

frogface69 · 16/02/2022 00:35

I lost my sense of smell and taste. 6 months on I still can’t smell so well and certain things now taste off. Will this be permanent ?

Waitingforgodot · 16/02/2022 01:26

I have covid right now. Can you advise on foods to eat to help boost my immune system?

lemonjam · 16/02/2022 15:52

I still have a very sore throat a month after testing positive. Why?! Make it stop!!

SoupDragon · 16/02/2022 15:59

My DD had Covid back at the start of September and still hasn't got her sense of smell and taste back properly. When will it come back or how can she "fix" it?

Syeknom · 16/02/2022 19:37

Can your lungs be damaged in the absence of respiratory be symptoms?

biffyboom · 16/02/2022 23:01

Do you foresee the covid vaccinations becoming needed in a way similar to the flu jab, with the need for an annual dose in the more vulnerable groups? Or possibly everyone?

starlight36 · 17/02/2022 07:56

Are GPs going to be trained to deal with the effects of Long Covid? Are ongoing respiratory conditions going to be taken seriously and will previous Covid infections /possible long Covid be factored into diagnosis and treatment?

Does relaxation aid recovery from Covid? As a parent the natural inclination is to keep going. Should we be trying to relax more and not rush back to all activities once we are out of self-isolation. The five/six day testing release seems to have put pressure on us all to bounce back to normal life as soon as possible.

Vanillarose1 · 17/02/2022 10:27

@Lurleene

Another one asking about tinnitus- is there anything that will cure this and is it really possible it was caused by covid or just a coincidence?
It can't be a coincidence - my tinnitus started when my Covid was at its worst and hasn't gone away.
Vanillarose1 · 17/02/2022 10:30

I was given monoclonal antibodies in hospital as I was extremely ill and was found not to be making any of my own. Why would some people not make any antibodies? Now I've been given some, will they stick around or is my immune system compromised?

Casimira · 17/02/2022 15:29

I had covid two weeks ago and was put on antivirals as I’m CEV. I was also told to stop taking my usual immunosuppressant, Amgevita.

I’m still absolutely shattered but have gone back to work through necessity. Am I at higher risk of long covid? And does pushing yourself before you’re ready increase then chances of long covid?

PizzaInWoking · 17/02/2022 18:32

Do you think some people are more immune to catching corona than others? Smallest ds has been in school and 27/29 have had it in his class but he hasn't - daily testing as per school request so I don't think he's been asymptomatic. About half in class have now had it multiple times.

MadeForThis · 17/02/2022 18:38

If you had a 6 year old daughter who had covid a few weeks ago would you get her vaccinated?

emphasisofmatter · 17/02/2022 22:01

What is the likelihood of a child having long covid or serious covid symptoms? For healthy children who are not CEV should they be vaccinated?

windowstothesoul · 17/02/2022 22:18

Will this masimo product be connected to a HCP or alert the user to contact one?

Will hypoxia and happy hypoxia symptoms be shared more widely post Covid?

ThisTownAintBigEnoughForBoth · 18/02/2022 00:00

What can we do to protect against long covid?

IWouldBeSuperb · 18/02/2022 05:46

Is getting younger children vaccinated more likely to protect them against long Covid?

I'm triple-jabbed but would like to know more about the pros and cons of vaccination for my young kids.

frazzledquaver · 18/02/2022 13:42

Can you explain about the relationship between post-covid symptoms and POTS? What understanding should a GP have of this (and what training is available to them)?
