I'm still suffering with Covid 4 weeks down the line. The first 2 weeks I was completely bedridden and felt very close to calling an ambulance. The last 2 weeks I manage to shuffle around my home and do some very basic tasks, but I'm suffering badly with fatigue and brain fog.

I've tried calling my doctor, but I'm just met with a 5 minute recorded message that's basically saying, if its anything to do with Covid then just phone 111 or an ambulance. I feel neither of these will meet my needs, should my doctor be more available to me right now?

I had covid a couple of weeks ago. It was very mild. At the end of the first week I got a very bad stomach ache and then my period (or what seemed like my period - light, brown bleeding) started 2 weeks early. I've been bleeding, lightly, for 2 weeks and have started what I think is my proper period now (it's heavier, and the colour has changed). This has never happened to me before - could it be covid - related (I've heard that it's not uncommon) or is it likely to be something else and worth keeping an eye on? Thank you

Is there any research planning on being done on lung functioning and any associated conditions for down the line as those qho have had covid age

mnahmnah · 18/02/2022 17:50

I currently have covid for the first time. Luckily, it’s just like a cold for me. I was wondering if covid has been known to effect periods? I know the vaccine has for some people

Norugratsatall · 18/02/2022 18:13

@Lurleene @Vanillarose1 and anyone else suffering from post Covid tinnitus. Can I just offer some hope; I had Covid (and subsequent Long Covid) in 2020. Had horrendous tinnitus for c.18 months. Thankfully it has virtually gone now. Don't lose hope as I know how awful it is and the impact on wellbeing.

RestingStitchFace · 18/02/2022 19:10

@Norugratsatall

Thanks for that. I live in hope.

Rummikub · 19/02/2022 00:23

My dc got Covid now has been diagnosed with asthma. Are the two linked?

Do children get long covid?

Callisto1 · 19/02/2022 10:49

Does Omicron, which is supposed to cause less serious health effects, cause long Covid at similar rates to previous Covid strains?

Pebble3 · 19/02/2022 11:26

What are the long term side effects that we need to look out for as parents to children aged three and under? Both male and female children.

PashleyB · 19/02/2022 12:12

What do you recommend as far as getting back to more activity post covid - what is a sensible ramp up?

HiDay · 19/02/2022 15:22

I can smell and taste smoke, constantly, to the point where I can't sleep because I feel I'm suffocating. I'm struggling with less than 2hrs sleep each night.

Any tips to improve this?

Lurleene · 19/02/2022 15:34

Thank you @Norugratsatall, it's nice to have a glimmer of hope. It is my DH rather than me who has it and it's made him quite depressed, especially the thought that he may have it forever so he was very pleased when I shared your message Flowers

Bigfishlittlepuddle · 19/02/2022 19:52

How long does it take to get your sense of taste back?

MayBeeMee · 19/02/2022 19:58

Does a long period recovering from a covid infection make a person more susceptible to other viruses?

Are children at risk of developing long covid?

Orangesquish · 20/02/2022 15:01

I'm interested in knowing more about long covid. I realise it's early days, but what do you think this condition will look like in the future, longer term?

mayflower21 · 20/02/2022 15:53

Is covid vaccination passed through breast milk?

SearchingTheSkies · 20/02/2022 16:17

Are there any vitamins that would help aid recovery from Covid? I often take vit C if I have a cold and wondered if a similar approach is worth taking for Covid.
Thank you!

VincentLegrand · 20/02/2022 16:20

Have COVID currently. Any idea of how long I'll be immune to reinfection?

DaffodilDandilion · 20/02/2022 16:34

At what point do my symptoms become Long Covid and is it worth seeing the GP about it? That is, is there anything they can prescribe to aid my recovery? Thanks

BewareTheLibrarians · 20/02/2022 18:30

@littlese @MakeTeaNotWar
Yes, children can be affected by long covid, unfortunately. My ds still has problems nearly two years after covid infection, although I think he’s (hopefully!) a relatively rare case.

It can affect different children differently, so some may have fatigue, others will have neurological/inflammatory system problems and so on.

www.longcovidkids.org/ is a good website for more information and testimonials.

NaerDoWell · 20/02/2022 21:23

Do you envisage everyone being offered a booster say every 6-12 months and if so, what age groups are likely to be offered this?

Flanjango · 20/02/2022 23:55

If a child has had covid is there any known issues with reinfections? Could there be greater risk of long covid or serious complications with multiple infections?
