NOW CLOSED

With technology now a huge part of our lives, it’s important to know how to stay safe online. We are looking for 20 Mumsnetters with a child aged 13-18 to attend At Home With Instagram, an event to discuss parenting in the digital age.

Instagram has recently launched new resources for parents, grandparents, and guardians, and will use this event to bring together some of the inspirational young people using social media for good, open up discussions about parenting in the digital age, and provide practical tips about managing your time, privacy, and interactions on Instagram.

More information about the event:

  • The event will take place on Monday 10th December 10am-2pm in Central London
  • This event is for Mumsnetters only but if you have young children you can bring them with you
  • All attendees will receive a £30 voucher of their choice (from a list) for attending and will also get a goody bag at the event
  • Breakfast and lunch will be provided
  • The event will comprise of panel discussions and Q&As as well as an interactive exhibition
  • Speakers at the event include Claudia Winkleman, Justine Roberts our CEO, and lifestyle and parenting influencer @ inpolife

Everyone who attends At Home With Instagram will be required to give feedback on the event on a thread on Mumsnet. Everyone who leaves their feedback as required will be entered into a prize draw to win one of three £100 voucher of their choice (from a list).

If you are interested in taking part please sign up here.

Thanks,

Surely the vast amount of teens will be at school at that point?

PatriciaHolm · 21/11/2018 22:17

Oh sorry assumed they were supposed to come too!

SouthWestmom · 21/11/2018 23:17

How are a blogger and Claudia Winkleman going to improve my parenting of kids using the internet? Genuine question, maybe I've missed something they are associated with?

frogface69 · 22/11/2018 00:18

London...of course

Zoflorabore · 22/11/2018 14:24

Yep London :(
I would have been very interested in this.
I have a 15yr old ds who has AS and was bullied when younger at school and via social media.

But I'm 200 miles away in Liverpool :(

rach2713 · 22/11/2018 20:41

Snap I would have been interested but I'm in Scotland so can't get down

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 22/11/2018 21:49

Likewise, but living in rural Wales I have precisely NO chance of getting my voice heard. Why don't you run these things as online videoconferencing if it's an invited guests scenario anyhow?

BitOutOfPractice · 22/11/2018 22:17

Can you clarify if the teen is supposed to attend too!

User12345677777 · 22/11/2018 23:31

I’d like to attend!! 16 year old son and 16 and 13 year old step daughters!

marycontraryquite · 22/11/2018 23:43

I am interested. I have a 12 year old and 15 year old.

hmmwhatatodo · 24/11/2018 10:20

Wouldn’t the world be a better place for teenagers without Instagram altogether?

wannabestressfree · 24/11/2018 15:56

Excited :) hope I get picked!

TheLittleDogLaughed · 25/11/2018 05:30

I could attend as I have a 15-year-old dd who is instagram obsessed.

stumpyteapot · 25/11/2018 07:39

If the event is about staying safe in line why haven't you got CEOP involved or the Breck Foundation. ?
