This thread is for the 100 MNers and bloggers who attended the No7 returning to work with confidence event on Monday 27th March. Thanks so much for coming along, we hope you enjoyed it! The event was all about “returning to work with confidence” and was for those parents who had either recently gone back to work after a break for children or who are planning a return.

You can view our Facebook Live Stream here

Here’s what No7 had to say about the event:

"At No7 we believe that when a woman feels in control she has the confidence to go out and do anything and so we are delighted to have the opportunity to support MNers and bloggers who are returning to work. We know that beauty for many women is about more than looking pretty which is why we’d love to give MNers the chance to hear from some inspirational women on how they faced getting back in to the workplace as well as share some top tips from our No7 advisers on quick ways to get their make up just right - especially in those early days back at work when you're juggling a million things at once and getting into a new routine."

Attendees:
Below are a few feedback questions for you to answer - if you have any more comments, please feel free to add them to your response. Do share your story using #No7Ready. If you are a blogger, we'd love to see you post a link to your blog post on this thread.

Why did you want to attend the event? What’s your current working status?
What did you learn from the event?
What did you enjoy about it?
Did it inspire you/give you confidence? If yes, in what ways?

All those who share feedback will be entered into a prize draw where one winner will win a £300 Boots voucher. We'd also love attendees to share their thoughts on social media using #No7Ready.

Non attendees:
To be in with a chance of winning a No7 hamper (worth £150), please tell us what makes you feel confident every day. This can be literally anything at all, even if it’s a very small thing such as your morning coffee to wake you up! Everyone who does so will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win the goodies!

Thanks, and good luck with the prize draws!

I'm more confident when my make-up looks good and my hair isn't being a nightmare! :)

Attended event with friend

Why did you want to attend the event? What’s your current working status?
I wanted to attend the event as I wanted to hear from other mums that had returned to work and how they were coping with it all and also how it made them feel as Mothers.
I returned to work part time after 5 years after my dd started primary school and I had awful feelings of guilt, anxiety and fear of not feeling like "Mum" anymore and losing control.
I still get these feeling from time to time but they are getting better each day but when I miss a school pta meeting or cant help with a school trip they do return.

What did you learn from the event?
I learnt from the event that we all have the same struggles, worries and feelings and sometimes you just have to talk and have people around you and not try and do it all yourself.
I am guilty of always asking my partner if he can have our dd if I have to go dentist/doctors and I should be telling him as parenting is a joint effort and he isn't doing me a favour in looking after her for me.

What did you enjoy about it?

I enjoyed the gorgeous canapés and lovely champagne, being around other women going through the same things and also having a night out on a Monday!!!!
The goodie bag was lovely too and my 5 year old dd decided to take my lipstick the following morning. ha ha

Did it inspire you/give you confidence? If yes, in what ways?
It didn't inspire me as I have never really been a career minded person but it did give me confidence and the help/advice with No 7 did make me think about giving myself more time and I don't have to feel guilt for doing a face pack or spending a bit more time on my make up getting ready for my day.

Thank you Mumsnet, me and my friend had a great evening and it gave us loads to think and talk about.

I feel confident on days I manage to get my eyebrows symetrical 😂 it really doesn't happen very often but it makes a huge difference

What makes me feel confident all day?
I could gush about panty-liners or anti-perspirant, but will be serious, (If a little heavy!) and say the knowledge I have a comfortable life.

A quick spritz of my favourite perfume on my way out gives me a real boost :)
Also.. I'm way more confident on the days when I'm wearing nice lingerie, even though no-one else can notice!

The thing that makes me feel confident on a daily basis is just putting a light coverage of foundation on. It's amazing the difference it makes, along with straightening my hair.

A hair makeover makes me feel confident

tabbaz123 · 01/04/2017 18:49

Non attendee here but for me confidence comes from within as well as appearance. I am well educated and confident enough to hold conversations with many people from different walks of life. I keep my brain active with online activities, reading and partaking in quizzes. As for appearance I like to choose clothes that I feel flatter my body and hide the 'lumps and bumps' and I look after my skin and wear minimal make-up. Friends and family are integral in confidence boosting for everyone.

For me to feel confident it has to be clean hair. If your hair feels and looks awful it drains your confidence quicker than anything.
