This thread is for the 100 MNers and bloggers who attended the No7 returning to work with confidence event on Monday 27th March. Thanks so much for coming along, we hope you enjoyed it! The event was all about “returning to work with confidence” and was for those parents who had either recently gone back to work after a break for children or who are planning a return.

You can view our Facebook Live Stream here

Here’s what No7 had to say about the event:

"At No7 we believe that when a woman feels in control she has the confidence to go out and do anything and so we are delighted to have the opportunity to support MNers and bloggers who are returning to work. We know that beauty for many women is about more than looking pretty which is why we’d love to give MNers the chance to hear from some inspirational women on how they faced getting back in to the workplace as well as share some top tips from our No7 advisers on quick ways to get their make up just right - especially in those early days back at work when you're juggling a million things at once and getting into a new routine."

Attendees:
Below are a few feedback questions for you to answer - if you have any more comments, please feel free to add them to your response. Do share your story using #No7Ready. If you are a blogger, we'd love to see you post a link to your blog post on this thread.

Why did you want to attend the event? What’s your current working status?
What did you learn from the event?
What did you enjoy about it?
Did it inspire you/give you confidence? If yes, in what ways?

All those who share feedback will be entered into a prize draw where one winner will win a £300 Boots voucher. We'd also love attendees to share their thoughts on social media using #No7Ready.

Non attendees:
To be in with a chance of winning a No7 hamper (worth £150), please tell us what makes you feel confident every day. This can be literally anything at all, even if it’s a very small thing such as your morning coffee to wake you up! Everyone who does so will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win the goodies!

Thanks, and good luck with the prize draws!

My 4 year old daughter always compliments me morning! She is all the confidence I need :)

Going out feeling fresh and clean and smelling nice gives me a boost on the confidence front, as does dressing smartly, not tartly.

I didn't attend - but what makes me feel confident every day?
To be honest, I like to feel ready for the day, even if that involves staying in all day and working from home.
Therefore, I have a shower and get dressed/put on some light make up and that's me sorted for the day. It's that little routine that makes me feel confident, I wouldn't feel right if I was sat around in my PJ's. I like to be ready and then I feel ready to face the day!

Non- attendee, To be honest putting my makeup on and dressing nice makes me feel confident. I have always made time for myself because I think it's important to feel good about yourself so you can pass this confidence onto your daughter. Xx

A good night's sleep and waking up in plenty of time to get ready in the morning really boosts my confidence - if I feel refreshed and ready, I can conquer anything!

I find a refreshing shower, sorting my hair out and using a bit of moisturiser and a touch of blusher makes me feel confident to face the day.

I attended the event and here are my thoughts...

Why did you want to attend the event? What’s your current working status?
I've recently returned to working part-time after taking an 8 year hiatus from the professional world to start a family. I wanted to attend the event so that I could meet other mum's in my situation and share tips and insight into returning to work and maintaining a good work balance life (other flex working scenarios, juggling family schedules, etc).

What did you learn from the event?
I learned that I'm not alone! All the mums that I met have a common thread...trying to balance working life with family commitments and gaining back a sense of self.

What did you enjoy about it?
The panel discussions were very informative and relatable. I also enjoyed meeting other mums and a mum blogger that I follow on Instagram. I also enjoyed the presence of having No7 at the event. It gave me unexpected "me time" which is hard to come by these days. It was also great to get some make-up advice from experts and receive a complementary make over. I received a voucher for No7 foundation and picked up my free bottle of foundation over the weekend from my local boots. I really like the product!

Did it inspire you/give you confidence? If yes, in what ways?
Yes, it did. It's always great to be in a room full of your peers who share the same concerns and joys that you do. It gave me the confidence to realise not doubt myself and that I'm actually doing a great job!

As long as I have checked my outfit, my hair and makeup and they tick all the boxes, I make sure that I remember to smile and my confidence builds naturally from that tried and tested base.

For me it's freshly washed hair. With clean locks I'm ready for anything the day can throw at me!

My morning coffee makes me human ! and confidence comes with it.
Also when my niece is here we start off most mornings looking in the mirror and saying how beautiful we are - Ive always had quite a bad self image of myself and would hate for her to have one. I hope this is something we can carry on in to her teens so it really sinks in and she not only knows it but believes it.

Employer issue my role has been offered as perm instead of secondment before I leave on maternity in 2mths. Their way around it is that as a manager I can manage a different team although this wasn't explained to me before offering the other colleague my current role. Is this legal??? Please help really stressing and upset.

It's the little things that make me feel most confident- putting on my makeup and creating a whole new look gives me bags of confidence as it allows me to be a different version of myself. Also choosing an edgy outfit I love and know is completely unique and rocking my favourite piece just gives me that inner confidence boost I need!

I feel most confident when I am in control - whether that is in control of how I look (with a good moisturiser and foundation and trusted lippy to hand) or in control of how I feel (with an industrial strength tampon at that time of the month or a set of tissues when dripping with a cold).

Being able to fend for myself in the urban jungle that is London - through my daily commute and in the office - is all about being prepared and being prepared is about having things to hand that make life that little bit easier and take the pressure off!
