This thread is for the 100 MNers and bloggers who attended the No7 returning to work with confidence event on Monday 27th March. Thanks so much for coming along, we hope you enjoyed it! The event was all about “returning to work with confidence” and was for those parents who had either recently gone back to work after a break for children or who are planning a return.

You can view our Facebook Live Stream here

Here’s what No7 had to say about the event:

"At No7 we believe that when a woman feels in control she has the confidence to go out and do anything and so we are delighted to have the opportunity to support MNers and bloggers who are returning to work. We know that beauty for many women is about more than looking pretty which is why we’d love to give MNers the chance to hear from some inspirational women on how they faced getting back in to the workplace as well as share some top tips from our No7 advisers on quick ways to get their make up just right - especially in those early days back at work when you're juggling a million things at once and getting into a new routine."

Attendees:
Below are a few feedback questions for you to answer - if you have any more comments, please feel free to add them to your response. Do share your story using #No7Ready. If you are a blogger, we'd love to see you post a link to your blog post on this thread.

Why did you want to attend the event? What’s your current working status?
What did you learn from the event?
What did you enjoy about it?
Did it inspire you/give you confidence? If yes, in what ways?

All those who share feedback will be entered into a prize draw where one winner will win a £300 Boots voucher. We'd also love attendees to share their thoughts on social media using #No7Ready.

Non attendees:
To be in with a chance of winning a No7 hamper (worth £150), please tell us what makes you feel confident every day. This can be literally anything at all, even if it’s a very small thing such as your morning coffee to wake you up! Everyone who does so will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win the goodies!

Thanks, and good luck with the prize draws!

Jealous Non attendee! This event sounded great.

I find being prepared/organised and as a result not having to rush helps the most.

Non-attendee. No7 extreme length mwaterproof mascara is my absolute favourite, plus the new eyelash primer (fab - really makes a difference) and my teeth cleaning routine (see Dr Ellie's 'Kiss Your Dentist Goodbye') make me feel more confident - lovely clean teeth and bright eyes work wonders !

Hi I'm knew to mumsnet, I didn't attend the conference.
For work I can't wear makeup so the things that make me more confident are a good brow wax and a lash tint. Being fair I don't feel as naked with my lashes tinted.Smile

Non attendee here. I'm back at work after having my children next week and at the moment nothing makes me feel confident or good about myself and am massively dreading next week! Any tips would be greatly received.

Non-attendee.

I find that wearing clothes that I feel comfortable and that fit make me confident.

It's important to ignore the size labels on clothes and go for what fits instead especially if you're returning to work after having a baby. Don't get fixated on "I am / should be a size 12/14/16/18" etc - wear what fits and feel comfortable without worrying about muffin top, spilling out of a top, buttons gaping etc

Non-atendee- I feel confident thanks to my children's unswerving confidence that I can solve anything , be everywhere and have a go at anything thrown in my path!

Non attendee.

My confidence comes from having smooth feeling skin and a matte finish from my foundation, I have oily skin.
A good skincare routine makes a big difference, which I don't always have time for!

Non attendee.
What makes me feel confident every day is wearing my smart coat. I may have bought it from a charity shop, but it's great quality, fits and flatters. Everytime I do up the buttons it feels like a smart woolly hug and gives me a boost on the school run.

Putting my makeup on. I am 43 and the last few years have been the first time in my life I have worn makeup daily so I am still learning about it. I love the transformation - still amazed daily that it makes such a difference! - and it really does give me a sense of confidence.

Non attendee. My confidence comes from my brain, my years of experience and overall knowing that I know my stuff.

Non-attendee here (would love to have attended but sadly clashed with Guides-ferrying duties). A cup of strong black filter coffee and bright lipstick set me up for the day every time.

I didn't attend the conference and what gives me confidence is knowing that I came into my job to make a difference to vulnerable children, knowing I do it with all the hard work and enthusiasm I can muster, and knowing I have helped change life for some of our most fragile and unsupported children.

Putting mascara on. God knows why but I've always felt more confident when I'm wearing it!

Having a good hair day makes me feel confident - when it's a bad hair day nothing feels right

I didn't attend. The thing that gives me confidence is putting on my favourite perfume (currently Miss Dior) when I leave the house.

Good complexion, good makeup and good hair. I have confidence anyway, but it is boosted if I look good.

I didn't attend but what makes me feel comfortable everyday is wearing clothes that I feel relaxed in.

I need to feel healthy and not too tired to feel confidence. Listening to music can boost my mood - I love Bach and a loud burst can set me up for the day. A cup of tea and walk with a friend while we exchange our woes is good for the confidence.
