We've teamed up with Universal Pictures UK to offer Mumsnetters and their families' a chance to attend an exclusive pre-release screening of the much anticipated movie, Despicable Me 2!

"Now that the ever-entrepreneurial Gru has left behind a life of super crime to raise Margo, Edith and Agnes, Gru, Dr. Nefario and the Minions have some free time on their hands. But just as he starts to adjust to his role as a suburban family man, an ultra-secret organization dedicated to fighting evil around the globe comes knocking. Now, it's up to Gru and his new partner, Lucy Wilde (Kristen Wiig), to discover who is responsible for a spectacular crime and bring him to justice. After all, it takes the world's greatest ex-villain to catch the one vying to take his place?"

Visit the Despicable Me 2 pages on Mumsnet to see the trailer (in cinemas 28th June): www.mumsnet.com/microsites/despicable-me-2

There are two screenings taking place on Sunday 16th June at the following locations and times:

London O2 arena - 3.30pm - 6.30pm

Manchester Printworks - 10am - 1pm

The screening will start off with 'fun in the foyer' including costume characters, games and more. You'll then be showed to your seats, provided with a bottle of water and a snack each and left to sit back and enjoy the film!

We'd then like you to come back to a thread at Mumsnet and tell us what you and your DCs thought of the film. We'd also love it if you could take a few pictures of your DCs enjoying their day out and upload them to the feedback thread. Pictures may be used on the Despicable Me 2 pages on MN, so please only upload pictures if you're happy for us to do this.

So, if you'd like to see Despicable Me 2 before anyone else, please sign up here.

Please note, the film is rated U and therefore suitable for any age, however due to the length of the film time (98mins) it's not advisable for children under 2 years to attend.

If you're selected to attend you will be emailed by 10th June with details of how to get your tickets. You will need to add your details - along with a special code - on a link we will send you. You'll then need to print your tickets at home and bring them with you to the screening to gain entry.

Please note: max 4 tickets per Mumsnetter.

Everyone who is selected to attend and adds a review onto the feedback thread will be in with a chance of winning a Despicable Me 2 goody bag!

Thanks and good luck,

MNHQ

Nerfmother · 13/06/2013 22:05

Boys keep asking how many bedtimes ! apparently no need to bring 3d glasses so that's good. Can't wait!

jes73 · 14/06/2013 12:17

So excited....See you on Sunday everyone!!

jes73 · 14/06/2013 13:20

Oooh....to get us in the mood Despicable Me on ITV tomorrow at 6.40pm...What fun!! Don't think we the kids will get any sleep tomorrow night.

fuzzpig · 14/06/2013 14:28

I have no doubt we will be watching Despicable Me on DVD on Sunday morning probably twice :o

ExasperatedSigh · 14/06/2013 14:45

We haven't told DS anything yet Grin Thinking of keeping it a surprise until we get there. I did say there was a new film out soon and he started yelling 'Let's go now! NOW NOW NOW!' so I think it's fair to say he will enjoy himself.

clux73 · 14/06/2013 18:24

Help Mumsnet!!!!!

Just trying to print our tickets and it's saying "no tickets left". I'm panicking now!!!

fuzzpig · 14/06/2013 19:47

Oh no, did you follow the link on the email? :(

I think I may have outed myself to a (lovely!) colleague today... I mentioned that it was an online competition and she sort of looked at me funny... :o

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey · 14/06/2013 19:52

Posted on other thread to but want to check.

I have printed out the page that says admit 4 and has the ticket id on.

Is that all I need or was there something else?

fuzzpig · 14/06/2013 19:57

Other thread?

(I think the printout is all we need BTW - check upthread as I'm sure MNHQ said so) :)

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey · 14/06/2013 19:59

Yes didn't you get the email for the other pre excitement/feedback thread?

Sorry can't link am on phone.

fuzzpig · 14/06/2013 20:04

ah thanks hokey I hadn't checked this afternoon! will head over there now to join the hopping up and down excitedly :o

fuzzpig · 14/06/2013 20:07

Question for MNHQ - or anyone who's been to the O2 before - are there likely to be places to sit in the foyer? I get dizzy a lot so probably won't be able to stand for the whole hour.

fuzzywuzzy · 14/06/2013 20:33

The O2 has loads of shops and coffee places etc as you walk along.

I don't think there are places to sit in the Cineworld Foyer, but downstairs there are coffee shops nearby.

I think if I'm remebering correctly.

fuzzpig · 14/06/2013 22:02

I may just have to sit on the floor :o

edam · 15/06/2013 10:25

Blimey, is it really a stand up cinema? We are expected to stand up for the whole film? Shock

edam · 15/06/2013 10:28

Just checked the cineworld site and for other films at this venue it mentions seating...

edam · 15/06/2013 10:30

Oh, I see, fuzzpig is talking about the foyer... fuzzpig, dunno about Cineworld but I've been to previews at different cinemas and some of them do have seating in the foyer. If there are seats in the foyer and I'm in one, I would be happy to give it up for you if you need it!

edam · 15/06/2013 10:31

ps you don't have to be there for a whole hour beforehand, you can always turn up 30 mins before. 'Fun in the foyer' usually means face-painting, some foam toy swords or whatever, some backdrops you can have your photo taken in front of...

fuzzpig · 15/06/2013 10:59

Thanks edam :o We will get there at 3.30 I think as I don't want me the DCs to miss anything. Hopefully the journey won't be too hard so I'm sure it won't be too taxing. And at least I'm guaranteed over 90 mins of sitting during the movie itself :o

I don't think there's such thing as a stand up cinema - that'd be my worst nightmare these days! For this reason I haven't applied for cheap tickets to the Globe even though I'd love to go.

Anyone else travelling up from West Sussex?

Nerfmother · 15/06/2013 11:13

It is tomorrow isn't it? Sunday? Just checking I'm not meant to be driving anywhere today...
