We've teamed up with Universal Pictures UK to offer Mumsnetters and their families' a chance to attend an exclusive pre-release screening of the much anticipated movie, Despicable Me 2!

"Now that the ever-entrepreneurial Gru has left behind a life of super crime to raise Margo, Edith and Agnes, Gru, Dr. Nefario and the Minions have some free time on their hands. But just as he starts to adjust to his role as a suburban family man, an ultra-secret organization dedicated to fighting evil around the globe comes knocking. Now, it's up to Gru and his new partner, Lucy Wilde (Kristen Wiig), to discover who is responsible for a spectacular crime and bring him to justice. After all, it takes the world's greatest ex-villain to catch the one vying to take his place?"

Visit the Despicable Me 2 pages on Mumsnet to see the trailer (in cinemas 28th June): www.mumsnet.com/microsites/despicable-me-2

There are two screenings taking place on Sunday 16th June at the following locations and times:

London O2 arena - 3.30pm - 6.30pm

Manchester Printworks - 10am - 1pm

The screening will start off with 'fun in the foyer' including costume characters, games and more. You'll then be showed to your seats, provided with a bottle of water and a snack each and left to sit back and enjoy the film!

We'd then like you to come back to a thread at Mumsnet and tell us what you and your DCs thought of the film. We'd also love it if you could take a few pictures of your DCs enjoying their day out and upload them to the feedback thread. Pictures may be used on the Despicable Me 2 pages on MN, so please only upload pictures if you're happy for us to do this.

So, if you'd like to see Despicable Me 2 before anyone else, please sign up here.

Please note, the film is rated U and therefore suitable for any age, however due to the length of the film time (98mins) it's not advisable for children under 2 years to attend.

If you're selected to attend you will be emailed by 10th June with details of how to get your tickets. You will need to add your details - along with a special code - on a link we will send you. You'll then need to print your tickets at home and bring them with you to the screening to gain entry.

Please note: max 4 tickets per Mumsnetter.

Everyone who is selected to attend and adds a review onto the feedback thread will be in with a chance of winning a Despicable Me 2 goody bag!

Thanks and good luck,

MNHQ

joportis · 12/06/2013 07:09

No tickets here either for O2, Sad how do you get on the reserve list.

AintNobodyHereButUsKittens · 12/06/2013 07:20

If you applied last week then you will automatically be on the reserve list joportis, and if anyone else declines then you might get a place. You don't have to do anything except cross your fingers and check your email.

joportis · 12/06/2013 07:53

Ok thanks, will keep my fingers crossed.

jes73 · 12/06/2013 10:52

Ann, it will be nice to meet you after all the email communications. :)

AnnMumsnet · 12/06/2013 11:56

jes73 - indeed...always a pleasure to meet MNers.....I will have to print off a list with rl and mn names on (for my eyes only) so I can see who folks really are! Grin

ImaHexGirl · 12/06/2013 13:58

Squeeeee! Thank you lovely MN, I got an email earlier saying we've now got tickets for the O2! I am so excited and DS will be over the moon! Thank you thank you thank you!! Grin

I'm looking forward to the pre-film fun as much as the film itself

ExasperatedSigh · 12/06/2013 13:59

Glad to see others are bringing their 2yos. I look forward to meeting you all in the foyer about two thirds of the way through Grin

5madthings · 12/06/2013 14:04

How many families are going roughly, will it be really busy?

Sayonee · 12/06/2013 17:25

For others (myself included) who didn't receive a winning email, ITV are showing Despicable me (1) on tv this Saturday at 6.40pm. Decided I'm going to get some treats in, cosy up on the sofa with the boys and have a home cinema popcorn movie night Grin
They'll be just as happy and two year old can wonder unsupervised so no babysitter required!!!

JaquelineHyde · 12/06/2013 19:32

Just got an email saying we have made it to the top of the reserve list and have been allocated tickets Grin Grin Grin

So I excited, I will be going to the London screening (got to work out how to get there now) with DD1 (8) DS1 (7) and DD2 (who will be 6 next weekend)

DH shall be staying at home with DS2 (6weeks) and playing on the Playstation. I'm not sure who will be most excited him or the dcs? Smile

MonsterBookOfTyRexs · 12/06/2013 21:47

Ann MNHQ I have swapped my dd with dn for Sunday as he is 7 and dd is 2. Is that ok? Do I need to do anything due to the change in ages?

5madthings · 12/06/2013 21:50

The ticket doesnt say anything about ages just the numbet of people it lets in so it shouldnt be a problem? Not that i am speaking for mnhq... But thats how it would seem to me.

MonsterBookOfTyRexs · 12/06/2013 22:11

5madthings I thought that too but was scared about getting there and not being allowed in :o Thanks for putting my mind at rest.
We are making a day of it, going to see Big Ben, Chelsea fc and a museum if the queue is reasonable. We will need to sit down for an hour and half :o

Well, it would be rude not to at least have some lunch and a small glass of something, I'm sure. Grin

AnnMumsnet · 13/06/2013 08:26

MonsterBookOfTyRexs - fine - as 5madthings said its about the number of bums on seats not who they are.

Am getting excited now....Grin

Kneedeepindaisies · 13/06/2013 09:14

We're going to London too.

I was trying to find a cheap hotel for the Saturday night but that's not happened so will be coming up on Sunday morning.

Off to google things to do.

Can we buy extra snacks at the screening?

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey · 13/06/2013 10:24

I would imagine you can buy snacks as normal.

Am impressed with the free parking at the O2 as well!

JaquelineHyde · 13/06/2013 13:24

HELP!!

I just clicked on the link to print my 4 tickets off and it is saying 'sorry, no tickets left' Shock Shock Sad

I only got told we had tickets yesterday and emailed Katie to say we were going and would print the tickets off today. She replied and said that was fine.

Now I'm panicking that something has happened and we have lost our tickets Sad Confused

I have just emailed Katie to ask her what is happening but thought I would post here as well just in case she doesn't see my email.

Please someone tell me it is all OK...

AnnMumsnet · 13/06/2013 13:28
