We've teamed up with Universal Pictures UK to offer Mumsnetters and their families' a chance to attend an exclusive pre-release screening of the much anticipated movie, Despicable Me 2!

"Now that the ever-entrepreneurial Gru has left behind a life of super crime to raise Margo, Edith and Agnes, Gru, Dr. Nefario and the Minions have some free time on their hands. But just as he starts to adjust to his role as a suburban family man, an ultra-secret organization dedicated to fighting evil around the globe comes knocking. Now, it's up to Gru and his new partner, Lucy Wilde (Kristen Wiig), to discover who is responsible for a spectacular crime and bring him to justice. After all, it takes the world's greatest ex-villain to catch the one vying to take his place?"

Visit the Despicable Me 2 pages on Mumsnet to see the trailer (in cinemas 28th June): www.mumsnet.com/microsites/despicable-me-2

There are two screenings taking place on Sunday 16th June at the following locations and times:

London O2 arena - 3.30pm - 6.30pm

Manchester Printworks - 10am - 1pm

The screening will start off with 'fun in the foyer' including costume characters, games and more. You'll then be showed to your seats, provided with a bottle of water and a snack each and left to sit back and enjoy the film!

We'd then like you to come back to a thread at Mumsnet and tell us what you and your DCs thought of the film. We'd also love it if you could take a few pictures of your DCs enjoying their day out and upload them to the feedback thread. Pictures may be used on the Despicable Me 2 pages on MN, so please only upload pictures if you're happy for us to do this.

So, if you'd like to see Despicable Me 2 before anyone else, please sign up here.

Please note, the film is rated U and therefore suitable for any age, however due to the length of the film time (98mins) it's not advisable for children under 2 years to attend.

If you're selected to attend you will be emailed by 10th June with details of how to get your tickets. You will need to add your details - along with a special code - on a link we will send you. You'll then need to print your tickets at home and bring them with you to the screening to gain entry.

Please note: max 4 tickets per Mumsnetter.

Everyone who is selected to attend and adds a review onto the feedback thread will be in with a chance of winning a Despicable Me 2 goody bag!

Thanks and good luck,

MNHQ

Thank you, very excited girls planning to dress as minions!

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey · 09/06/2013 19:38

We are going to the O2 as well.

ExasperatedSigh · 09/06/2013 22:11

Jes I'm going to bring my almost-2yo. She'll enjoy the foyer stuff and when if she gets wriggly during the film I'll just take her out for a wander till DS and DH come out.

Risha · 10/06/2013 09:49

not lucky.. DD is very very upset :( I shouldn't have told her earlier.. :( and she keeps saying my little DD that " We couldn't go" for atleast 1000 times now..

HavingAnOffDAy · 10/06/2013 12:13

I'm in too - at the Printworks

Sooooo excited Grin Not told DD yet. I originally applied for 4 tickets but have decided against taking DS (2) so hopefully someone will be able to have our extra ticket.

Wooo Hooooo

HavingAnOffDAy · 10/06/2013 12:13

And thank you Mumsnet Flowers

nenevomito · 10/06/2013 13:03

That was a bit daft Risha. I'm sure they'll cheer up if you take them when its released though.

BOF · 10/06/2013 13:46

Yes- you'd probably know it wasn't a good idea if you spent some time on boards other than product freebies and sponsored posts Smile. Still, as Babyheave says, it's not the end of the world having to pay for your own cinema tickets.

KatieBMumsnet · 10/06/2013 13:51

Hi all, just to let you know the film will be in 3D.

fuzzpig you can bring your friend and the event is just for Mumsnetters Smile

Yey thank you mumsnet! Printworks here we come! My 4 year old is so excited. He is obsessed with despicable me! I am also fetching my 2 year old and hoping he behaves during the film! See you all there! x

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey · 10/06/2013 15:59

3D as well?!

It just gets better!!

5madthings · 10/06/2013 16:29

Omg omg I got tickets, I shall be bringing three mad boys to the o2 in London!!! I never win anything, soo excited!!

MonsterBookOfTyRexs · 10/06/2013 16:36

I also have a 2 year old coming, she normally sits better than the 5 year old till the last 20mins or so.
I am hoping giving her milk and her blankie will help :o
Ooh 3D best get ds and dd some glasses.

5madthings · 10/06/2013 16:39

I shall be bringing ds2, ds3 and ds4 they are 10, 8 and 5 and are beyond excited! I had to choose who out of my five to bring ds1 is 13 and wasn't fussed, dd is only two and so won't mind not coming. It will actually be really great to just have my middle three and be doing something awesome just with them!!!

5madthings · 10/06/2013 18:07

I have booked our train tickets, I think I may be more excited than the children...

Hellohippo · 10/06/2013 19:25

Excited but scared I will get home to see a thead about me!

SeagullsAreLikeThat · 10/06/2013 20:20

Silly question here: do we need to bring our own glasses?? Not done a film in 3D since Jaws back in 1980-somethingSmile

MustTidyUpMustTidyUp · 10/06/2013 20:22

Ooooo seagull I thought I was the only person to have never seen a 3D film! Even more excited!
(Ill be the giddy one with 3 crazy boys)

5madthings · 10/06/2013 20:27

musttidyup I too will be giddy with three crazy boys!

And yes do we need to take glasses? Whenever go to 3d as its too expensive so we don't have any, surely they will have them for us to borrow?

I have been grinning like a loony since I saw my email today, dp is maybe a little rolley eyed at my enthusiasm he is just jealous that he doesn't get to come with us

marryinhaste · 10/06/2013 20:37

I will be at the O2 - on my own with my 5 year old and 2 year old - slightly questioning my sanity now!

I think I saw an advert that said the first film is on TV this Saturday night - good timing for watching before the sequel!

SeagullsAreLikeThat · 10/06/2013 20:50

5madthings, that was me too, couldn't stop grinning every time I thought about it! Think it's partly because it's so rare for me to get through to things like this so it makes it even more special.
