We've teamed up with Universal Pictures UK to offer Mumsnetters and their families' a chance to attend an exclusive pre-release screening of the much anticipated movie, Despicable Me 2!

"Now that the ever-entrepreneurial Gru has left behind a life of super crime to raise Margo, Edith and Agnes, Gru, Dr. Nefario and the Minions have some free time on their hands. But just as he starts to adjust to his role as a suburban family man, an ultra-secret organization dedicated to fighting evil around the globe comes knocking. Now, it's up to Gru and his new partner, Lucy Wilde (Kristen Wiig), to discover who is responsible for a spectacular crime and bring him to justice. After all, it takes the world's greatest ex-villain to catch the one vying to take his place?"

Visit the Despicable Me 2 pages on Mumsnet to see the trailer (in cinemas 28th June): www.mumsnet.com/microsites/despicable-me-2

There are two screenings taking place on Sunday 16th June at the following locations and times:

London O2 arena - 3.30pm - 6.30pm

Manchester Printworks - 10am - 1pm

The screening will start off with 'fun in the foyer' including costume characters, games and more. You'll then be showed to your seats, provided with a bottle of water and a snack each and left to sit back and enjoy the film!

We'd then like you to come back to a thread at Mumsnet and tell us what you and your DCs thought of the film. We'd also love it if you could take a few pictures of your DCs enjoying their day out and upload them to the feedback thread. Pictures may be used on the Despicable Me 2 pages on MN, so please only upload pictures if you're happy for us to do this.

So, if you'd like to see Despicable Me 2 before anyone else, please sign up here.

Please note, the film is rated U and therefore suitable for any age, however due to the length of the film time (98mins) it's not advisable for children under 2 years to attend.

If you're selected to attend you will be emailed by 10th June with details of how to get your tickets. You will need to add your details - along with a special code - on a link we will send you. You'll then need to print your tickets at home and bring them with you to the screening to gain entry.

Please note: max 4 tickets per Mumsnetter.

Everyone who is selected to attend and adds a review onto the feedback thread will be in with a chance of winning a Despicable Me 2 goody bag!

Thanks and good luck,

MNHQ

Yep I never win anything ever so massively chuffed and I hadn't told the boys that I had entered so they were really surprised and are thrilled, they can't wait to go :)

i may have been so excited that I phoned up my parents to tell them Blush Grin

edam · 10/06/2013 21:17

I'm sure they will have 3d glasses available for everyone on the day.

edam · 10/06/2013 21:18

Katie, the whole screening will be Mumsnet-only? Blimey, a whole cinema full of MNers... do the guys at Universal realise quite what they are letting themselves in for? Grin

oohaveabanana · 10/06/2013 21:42

Yup, would be good to know if you'd like us to bring along 3D glasses, or if you'll have a mahoussive stash of freebies

fuzzpig · 10/06/2013 21:45

Wow all mumsnetters eh? Exciting, I've never been to a meet up :o

Thanks for reply Katie I have got a babysitter for my little one which means I can bring both DSDs (there's no way I could've chosen only one of them!) as well as my DD. All of us are hopping with excitement and we will be bringing our cuddly minions (or in the case of DD, her unicorn) to watch the movie with us!

fuzzpig · 10/06/2013 21:52

Oh and can I just say... please please please don't think me rude if I'm not very talkative! I am really looking forward to meeting some lovely MNers but I am also really shy and crap with social situations so I'm very nervous too! So if you notice a wallflower it is probably me :o

fuzzpig · 10/06/2013 21:53

presumably we can buy extra snacks at the foyer if those provided aren't enough for us greedy people - or should we sneak in some greggs sausage rolls pom bears?

5madthings · 10/06/2013 21:56

We get snacks and a drink each apparently, ds2 would like to know what they are...

I shall be taking extras as my boys are gannets!

marryinhaste · 10/06/2013 22:02

fuzzpig - I will be a wallflower, too, probably. I get so worked up about making sure the children behave that I forget how to have a conversation. Will try and be sociable on Sunday - could be interesting amongst the nest of vipers!

Nerfmother · 10/06/2013 22:07

5madthings- I'm really looking forward to meeting your boys! i think you may have appeared on a omg how do u manage boys thread I may have started! Mine are 10, 7 and 5!

fuzzpig · 10/06/2013 22:10

It's only girls going in our group! DH is so jealous. He will take DS to a 2D screening once it's on general release though.

Wolfcub · 10/06/2013 22:15

we still haven't told ds that we're going, we decided to keep it a secret but are both ridiculously excited. we also haven't seen a 3d film before as I've always been worried that they will give me headaches.

5madthings · 10/06/2013 22:25

I can't wait, Nerf you say that now you may want to run away fast once you meet them... Man this are fine but I suspect they are going to be hyper and mega excited, i pity anyone who happens to be on the train from Norwich to London us! Grin. I am bringing the middle three who are 10, 8 and 5 (tho for the train journey ds4 is only 4...) Shock

Nerfmother · 11/06/2013 07:51

Haha, I give you my three boys; lively would be an appropriate phrase.

Katz · 11/06/2013 08:19

All mumsnetters! Maybe I should warn DH! my two are excited at seeing the film a week before anyone else!

fuzzpig · 11/06/2013 08:23

I just remembered DH bought me one of those iron on transfers a while ago, of a minion! I should actually get round to putting it on something to wear...

5madthings · 11/06/2013 09:41

To say ds4 is excited would be an understatement, every person we passed on the way to school got told that he is going to see a special showing of despicable me 2 on Sunday and that he will meet a minion... It says there are characters to meet? There WILL be someone in a minion costume?!! Or ds4 may be a tad heartbroken. It is his show and tell news at school today and he has informed them that next week he will bring photos of him and minion....

jes73 · 11/06/2013 10:30

Hmmm...Still not sure of bringing the two year old DD. If she gets scared she cries really loud and I mean really loud and I would not want to disturb everyone else.

jes73 · 11/06/2013 10:31

Is there a group on twitter so we know who all are going? Grin

5madthings · 11/06/2013 10:36

I am leaving my two years told, but I and to choose two to leave anyway and it made sense to leave her as she worn mind missing out and ds1(13) as he isnt that bothered.

I am not on twitter, but I am on Feb, if anyone wants to add me just send me a pm and I will send you my name so you can find me :)

fuzzywuzzy · 11/06/2013 10:39

We're going too, my girls are soo excited, I left the tickets at work yesterday and my eldest kept reminding me to bring them with me this morning!

AnnMumsnet · 11/06/2013 10:53

I am going to ensure you lot behave yourselves as a representative of MNHQ. Can't wait...Grin

SeagullsAreLikeThat · 11/06/2013 12:53

When you say "tickets" can I just check you mean the sheet of paper that says "4 tickets" or whatever? Have I done this wrong? .

Also, are there only 3 of us going to Manchester or is it just that no one else is on this threadSmile? Everyone here seems to be London-bound!

fuzzpig · 11/06/2013 12:59

That's all I've got, Seagulls, I printed off 2 copies though in case I lose one!

Need to find the camera as DD would love a photo of her with a minion to take to show and tell next week!

I haven't seen a 3D film apart from those at theme parks. Me and DSD2 are going to look sooo cool with our 3D glasses over our regular specs :o

fuzzywuzzy · 11/06/2013 13:00

Seagulls yes I meant the sheet of paper with the number of people attending on it.

I'm going to the London preview.
