We've teamed up with Universal Pictures UK to offer Mumsnetters and their families' a chance to attend an exclusive pre-release screening of the much anticipated movie, Despicable Me 2!

"Now that the ever-entrepreneurial Gru has left behind a life of super crime to raise Margo, Edith and Agnes, Gru, Dr. Nefario and the Minions have some free time on their hands. But just as he starts to adjust to his role as a suburban family man, an ultra-secret organization dedicated to fighting evil around the globe comes knocking. Now, it's up to Gru and his new partner, Lucy Wilde (Kristen Wiig), to discover who is responsible for a spectacular crime and bring him to justice. After all, it takes the world's greatest ex-villain to catch the one vying to take his place?"

Visit the Despicable Me 2 pages on Mumsnet to see the trailer (in cinemas 28th June): www.mumsnet.com/microsites/despicable-me-2

There are two screenings taking place on Sunday 16th June at the following locations and times:

London O2 arena - 3.30pm - 6.30pm

Manchester Printworks - 10am - 1pm

The screening will start off with 'fun in the foyer' including costume characters, games and more. You'll then be showed to your seats, provided with a bottle of water and a snack each and left to sit back and enjoy the film!

We'd then like you to come back to a thread at Mumsnet and tell us what you and your DCs thought of the film. We'd also love it if you could take a few pictures of your DCs enjoying their day out and upload them to the feedback thread. Pictures may be used on the Despicable Me 2 pages on MN, so please only upload pictures if you're happy for us to do this.

So, if you'd like to see Despicable Me 2 before anyone else, please sign up here.

Please note, the film is rated U and therefore suitable for any age, however due to the length of the film time (98mins) it's not advisable for children under 2 years to attend.

If you're selected to attend you will be emailed by 10th June with details of how to get your tickets. You will need to add your details - along with a special code - on a link we will send you. You'll then need to print your tickets at home and bring them with you to the screening to gain entry.

Please note: max 4 tickets per Mumsnetter.

Everyone who is selected to attend and adds a review onto the feedback thread will be in with a chance of winning a Despicable Me 2 goody bag!

Thanks and good luck,

MNHQ

Yes its just a printed sheet that says time, place how many people, I got an email confirmation as well that says something about car parking? But we are coming by train. We will be getting to London by 11:30ish so gave area hours to kill beforehand, I shall have a Google and see what is nearby to do.., happy to meet up beforehand if others want to :)

nenevomito · 11/06/2013 13:19

Who else is going to the Printworks?

ArtemisKelda · 11/06/2013 14:44

babyheave I'm going to the Printworks too.

SeagullsAreLikeThat · 11/06/2013 16:08

Ah, that makes a few more for Manchester then, at least!
Thanks for the reassurance re tickets. Can you imagine getting there having wound the DCs up into a frenzy of excitement only to find you hadn't got the right documentationGrin?

Bit late to the party, as we only managed to get tickets by getting to the top of the reserve list, but woo hoo! We'll be at the O2 - haven't told DD yet as still working out which of her friends will be free to come with us. So exciting!

edam · 11/06/2013 16:43

Ann, I'm sure you will have no problem at all wrestling a herd of cats keeping order... MNers are not renowned for being opinionated and individual and stubborn and there are never heated threads in AIBU about etiquette in public places at all, oh no sirree...

SeagullsAreLikeThat · 11/06/2013 17:16

So does this mean we will be left unsupervised in Manchester???

EstoyAqui · 11/06/2013 17:25

We are coming. Somehow our original email got lost and I found out today that we are definitely coming. . DD is so excited.

I cannot wait to get a picture of DS with a minion. He loves them. Grin

EstoyAqui · 11/06/2013 17:30

Also, for those who have time to kill beforehand, the cable car ride over the Thames is just next door to the O2 and gives a really good view down the river.

I think we shall hang out on the South bank though and get the Jubilee line up early so we can treat DH for Father's Day dinner.

5madthings · 11/06/2013 17:32

We have time to kill, the cable car ride sounds good, is it expensive?

AnnMumsnet · 11/06/2013 17:34

Smile Edam...actually will need to think about whether to go incognito or brazen it out with a big badge/whip.

And yes unsupervised ooooppp north....am relying on best behaviour from all Blush

EstoyAqui · 11/06/2013 17:40

We used our Oysters so I think it was a couple of quid each for DH and I. Our DCs are 5 and under so no charge for them.

They have a lifestyle museum to the north of the river showing future technology within the home if you are interested. We just had an ice-cream then came back the other way!

SeagullsAreLikeThat · 11/06/2013 18:10

Ooh, Ann, we'll be ever so good, promise...

5madthings · 11/06/2013 18:21

Thanks estoy I think the boys will like that, I shall have a travel card so can get a discounted fare, will have to see if its worth getting the boys a travel card, they are free on the tube, ds4 is just five but for the purposes of the train and the cable car he is still four... Grin

AintNobodyHereButUsKittens · 11/06/2013 20:10

Hurray - through to the top of the reserve lost and we're off to the O2.

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 11/06/2013 20:21

For those 3d virgins, the newer films aren't like those 'proper' 80's 3d films
It's pretty gentle, more of a richer film rather than things reaching out of the screen.

nenevomito · 11/06/2013 20:31

And yes unsupervised ooooppp north....am relying on best behaviour from all

Yes of course. Honest. Best behaviour.

If we don't will you send us messages saying "you've let your families down, you've let Mumsnet down, but most of all, you've let yourself down"?

That's the updated version of what I got after one ill-fated school trip to the cinema.

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 11/06/2013 20:42

Babyheave, you've got tickets too!! But to wrong different one. Have a good time.

SeagullsAreLikeThat · 11/06/2013 21:03

Babyheave, are you and I going to be the prefects then?

nenevomito · 11/06/2013 21:07

Oh no NaturalBlonde! Brilliant that you have tickets, but boo-hiss at the other end of the country.

We could be prefects, Seagulls, but I'd probably lead people astray. Grin

cjbk1 · 11/06/2013 21:22

We're going to the O2 screening..do I have to sign in here?

LackaDAISYcal · 11/06/2013 23:45

Oooh, just had an email saying I'm top of the reserve list for Manchester! It then went on to give the link for tickets though, so I'm a bit Confused Are we in or not?

5madthings · 11/06/2013 23:48

If you have the link then you are in i would thibk? as in you got to the top and there are spaces available :)
