Whether you go every year or are planning your first visit, Hyde Park Winter Wonderland has that proper festive feel - and most families have one thing they always make time for.

Maybe it’s a visit to Santa (this year he’s joined by Mrs Claus and an Elves’ Workshop!), exploring the Magical Ice Kingdom, or watching the circus together. Some people love the view from the Giant Wheel, others head straight for the ice skating - or just enjoy soaking up the atmosphere with something warm to eat.

If you're heading along this year, it’s worth knowing you can book ahead to save -- whether that’s by pre-booking £25 worth of rides and attractions to score free entry, choosing a free off-peak session, or picking one of the new packages that combine popular attractions with rides, games credit and exclusive discounts.
So tell us - what’s your Winter Wonderland must do, and why?

Post below for a chance to win the ultimate family day out - worth over £300 - including:
4 x Anytime entry tickets (2 adults and 2 children or 1 adult and 3 children)
4 x Magical Ice Kingdom tickets
4 x Giant Wheel presented by Disney + tickets
4 x Circus performance tickets (either Zippos Christmas Circus or Cirque Berserk)
4 x Food vouchers

T&Cs apply. Competition closes 5th December.

The Giant Wheel is lovely as you can gaze up at all of the London area. It's also peaceful and Chrismassey and it's fun to look down at the rest of the Winterwonderland from there. It's relaxing and fun!

We haven’t been before but the kids are old enough to enjoy it this year. I’d be looking forward to the ice kingdom and giant wheel but the kids adore a carousel.

Nicaveron · 14/11/2025 18:31

Wow, never been to Winterwonderland. Would love to take my great grandson. Because treat for us both.
fingers crossed 🤞

Sunshineandoranges · 14/11/2025 21:40

Not been yet but would love to take granddaughters.

DaisyDando · 14/11/2025 23:12

Ice skating is such a Christmassy thing to do and everyone can reward themselves with a hot chocolate and some massive pick and mix afterwards! Love it.

ToriTheStoryteller · 15/11/2025 07:14

The giant wheel or ice skating would be top of our list.

Linenpickle · 15/11/2025 07:33

Not going would make me happy. It’s such a rip off. Hold onto your bags whilst there,

ChocHotolate · 15/11/2025 07:40

Definitely the rides for us. DS loves the fast rollercoaster rides and DD loves the kids rides so the all you can ride / wrist band option was great for her - especially as we went early in the season and at opening time so no queues

Runningshorts · 15/11/2025 08:10

We've never been either but our family would choose the giant wheel first for the views and excitement of being up high. We go ice skating every year so that would be our next choice, and I personally would love to see a circus performance.

Never been but it sounds amazing and very festive! Ice skating is one of the things we try to do every Christmas - that and a pantomime!

Frynye · 15/11/2025 09:08

The giant wheel. It’s absolutely amazing

lolliplop · 15/11/2025 10:18

My sons love the rollercoasters so I would pre-book those. Ice skating is great fun too. We haven't been for years so would be great to go again. Thanks!

Scrabbler · 15/11/2025 10:41

My kids love rides so I’d probably pre- book a ride package. I’d prefer the wheel though, lovely views of a Christmassy London 😍

Sleepybumble · 15/11/2025 19:35

Ice skating! Always feels really festive and it's fun!

Carmen866 · 15/11/2025 20:35

Total rip off , if you go I would advice sticking to a budget when it’s spent leave .

munchbunch12 · 15/11/2025 21:57

The giant wheel!

Jugendstiel · 15/11/2025 22:40

I love the ice sculptures. You can go skating or on a Ferris Wheel or to the circus and Christmas market in lots of places but the ice sculptures are unique. I remember my children sliding down the ice slide on Christmas Eve one year. It was lovely.

rhabarbarmarmelade · 15/11/2025 23:12

I loved the old schronky German rides like Haunted Hotel, but they don’t have them anymore. But I do really love mulled wine in one of the German bier Halle bars.

TheCryingTheBitchAndTheFloordrobe · 16/11/2025 00:10

For me it’s the giant wheel. I love looking down at everything, it feels so Christmassy. DD always wants to do lots of the games and last year DS headed straight for the food!

Giddyfox · 16/11/2025 08:02

I’d love to go to the magical kingdom. It sounds so Christmassy

Gogodonu · 16/11/2025 10:28

We are planning a visit in December once the children break up from school. We will be travelling by train from Manchester and staying with friends who went to Winter Wonderland last year and loved it, they’ve said the ‘must do’ are the wheel, ice skating and ice slide. My teenagers age 13 and 15 are so excited, and not much makes them excited these days 😆

passport25 · 16/11/2025 10:35

Ice skating for us. We can all ice skate pretty well now, and outdoor ice skating, wrapped up warm, with Christmassy tunes playing is just perfect for getting into the festive mood. Of course, it needs to be followed by a yummy hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows.

We've never been to Winter Wonderland, and it looks like such a great day/evening out with lots to do.

Ddakji · 16/11/2025 10:42

Expensive and often a mud bath.

Fupoffyagrasshole · 16/11/2025 14:41

We love it! My daughter Is obsessed with the rides

i love the mulled drinks & the ice skating :) x

dublinmary · 17/11/2025 12:24

We go every year between Christmas and Year. Go early to avoid the queues for the rides. Kids get a set amount of rides, then we can enjoy the lights and stalls as it starts to get dark, then leave before it gets crazy busy. It is expensive but can be great fun.
