I've definitely gone from style to comfort - love it. I walk a lot and am always on my feet - so comfort is my priority - love the sound of Sketchers slip ons

prawncocktailcrispss · 18/12/2024 10:49

My style has changed because I've stopped co-ordinating shoes - skirts - blouses - I just live in comfys - sometimes PJ's all day if I don't want to go out.
Comfy trainers- especially slip-on's would be a 'treat for my feet' 👟

JacCharlton · 18/12/2024 13:53

My style has changed to addidas nike and sweaty betty - from Wallis and Per Una - I'd love to add sketchers to my primary list - they look so comfy

Sleepybumble · 18/12/2024 19:26

I never used to wear jeans before I had DD. But on E she was born I wanted so wear something that was easy to dress up/ down and I could bend and not worry about throughout the day

PinkyBlueMe · 18/12/2024 20:46

My style changed as I put on weight like a lot of people. I definitely started wearing trousers more, largely because I was always running around or at places like soft play or playgrounds so trousers worked better.
Also, young children have a habit of lifting skirts or dresses so trousers worked for that too.
I also started shopping at retailers where I liked getting baby clothes from such as Boden or Monsoon when funds allowed.
I wear Skechers a lot - currently have 3 pairs for different uses. I wore them all round Disney Orlando as v comfy. I haven't got any of the Unos so I'd choose these www.skechers.co.uk/uno---stand-on-air/73690_BBK.html

I still like to look good but just have less time and inclination to think about fashion- Which for me means oversize jumpers (when I used to wear more fitted) and flatter shoes (more trainers!). The slip-on's look so comfy

ketchuporbrownsauce · 21/12/2024 08:01

From smart to sloppy an messy at the moment - always a vomit stain on my shoulder- as long as no one sees me I am fine - I know things will improve and I will get more energy and motivation to get into shape and wear my smart shapely chothes once more - LOVE tho look of the sketchers btw. 👟👟

youareonlyhereonce · 22/12/2024 08:23

Since being a mum, I'm more interested in what's comfortable and practical now, rather than what's fashionable Trainers and comfy leggings/jumpers are where its at for this yummy tubby mummy.
LOVE this slip ons - will make my day that much easier

Montydoo · 29/12/2024 09:50

I really feel like I have lost my style! During the first 6 weeks I lived in leggings and shirts and I think now I just don't know what is stylish or how to get my sense of style back - I just put everyone else before me - and don't have the energy.
I definitely want to dress for comfort a bit more (and be ready for getting the days food on my clothes!)

My new mum wardrobe changed due to my body confidence being dented after my size 10 body seems to have disappeared as a distant memory. I wear jeggings (like them better than leggings) and crocs - love the slip on sketchers - with the support you have from being on your feet, and walking miles to get the fresh air and walks my cluttered mind needs would be invaluable during this time. Thanks Mumsnet - another great giveaway.

Hi @JacCharlton The first thing many mums try to do after having their baby is attempt to get back to ‘feeling like their old selves’. That’s one of the hardest things as you've given birth to a brand-new human. Nothing will ever feel
or look the same again. Try not to be hard on yourself. Do not attempt to put on the same clothes from before for some time. Find your ‘new outfit’. I like the Skechers items that give me more support from my feet all the way to my back and the delicate stomach area.

Take care, Myleene x

ButterOllocks · 21/11/2024 18:15

My style changed from girly to frumpy sadly - need to get back to dresses and court shoes - but happily live in my leggings and oversize t shirts and sweatshirts and trainers and slippers

Hi @ButterOllocks All the bending down picking up toys, tidying, feeding, clothes very quickly start looking baggy or stretched and then you in turn can feel shapeless, frumpy. A little confidence can go a long way, again, items that, whilst forgiving, hold their shape with more elastic in them help you feel a little more ‘put together’. I live in my Skechers trackies and leggings. They look and feel great and hold their shape. Love, Myleene x

TwinsAndToddlerLife · 29/11/2024 20:20

After two pregnancies in 3 years, and one of which was twins, my body has completely changed and I have no idea what suits me or what to wear anymore. So I always opt for comfort and practicality, with oversized t-shirts/jumpers, a pair of jeggings or jeans and a pair of trainers. As long as I can run around after three little ones and push the pram for our daily walks, I’m doing ok. I have no idea how other mums manage to look so stylish and well put together!

These Skechers look super comfy AND stylish for when I’m getting my steps in … www.skechers.co.uk/skechers-slip-ins-snoop-one---boss-life-canvas/186000.html

Hi @TwinsAndToddlerLife I have been pregnant seven times, had three full term babies, your body goes through so much. It stretches, sags, gets dry, crepey, it’s doing all the things it was designed to do but as it all happens so quickly, it’s easy to feel like a stranger living in your own skin. Again, do something for yourself that makes you feel good and more accustomed to the ‘new version’ of you. Soft snuggly items in the Skechers Apparel ranges are a real go to for me as they look lovely and feel luxurious, and I can do my job as mum in them without worrying about spillages or little fingers.

IgoogledYOLO · 29/11/2024 21:05

When my two were newborns, having footwear that I could slip on with no hands was a must. I'd not be able to put the baby down so the leisure activity that was tying a lace or pulling a zip was no more!

Hi @IgoogledYOLO The Skechers Slip-ins were initially designed for those who cannot physically bend down to tie their laces. For me, I have adopted them into my everyday life. They are a gift from the shoe Gods! When my hands are full, or even when my back hurts after the pressure and complications pregnancy put on my lower spine, I can just slip into my shoes. Would you believe, it even helps my vertigo, not having to keep moving my head upside down and back up continuously. It makes the biggest difference. My son’s shoes are all Skechers Slip-ins too and again, he gets his own independence from wearing them by himself. So, we match! Myleene x

problembottom · 20/11/2024 20:01

I've really struggled with style since having a baby. My body has changed and the clothes that used to look good on me don't work in the same way. I feel like I need a new style but I also feel too old to start again! It's tricky.

Hi @problembottom ‘Give yourself a break’. ‘Be kind to yourself’. Things we all hear, but rarely do. You are a new person. There’s little point trying to find the ‘old you’ as she has gone and this new, wiser, emboldened woman stands in her place. We do feel more vulnerable and yet stronger simultaneously. We can easily get forgotten as we work our way down that mum list and find ourselves at the bottom of the list, that’s if we’re even on it at all!
No one wants to feel frumpy. Skechers clothes are comfy, cosy, versatile and look amazing, plus, their shoes feel like you’re bouncing on clouds. Looking after your feet, body, and ultimately you, are amazing ways to feel stronger, more together and like the new and improved version of the ‘old you’.
Take care, Myleene x
