Broad bean, mint and halloumi salad. Tabbouleh. Roasted tomatoes. Homemade hummus and guacamole. Loads of pain rustique (we're in France).

Lamb kebabs, pitta breads, coleslaw, olives

When the weather's hot, we love watermelon and halloumi salad with green beans and mint. Really fresh and tasty and needs minimal cooking

For some reason my kids always eat better when they're outside.
We get the pizza oven out and make homemade pizzas, letting them choose their own toppings- usually grated mozzarella, pepperoni and peppers are a favourite combo. We also like to make homemade veggie burgers, throwing together whatever canned beans we have (usually cannellini/kidney) and mixing together with chopped onion & peppers, fresh herbs, red pesto and a binding of beaten egg. We throw these on the BBQ with some corn on the cobs with melted butter and serve in brioche buns (definitely St Pierre as more flavoursome than plain buns!).

My husband likes the brioche buns for his burgers. If they are on offer he will buy and put in the freezer. I am not much into red meat these days only white meat, and so like a nice chicken salad or chicken with roasted vegetables mostly.

i love a melon, pecan and feta salad with some grilled meat or fish ... just need some sun now!

We prefer brioche buns as more of a pudding item, toasted on the BBQ, topped with berries, honey, pistachio and Greek yoghurt.
In fact, forget the first course!

Fruit salad, wraps with salad, tuna and sardines, raspberry pavlova, quiche, fruit cheesecakes, dips with carrot and cucumber, spicy vegetable rice, minted new potatoes.

This has made me so hungry 😫😋 . We do an easy puff pastry tart (base can be pesto, or cream cheese with mango chutney) top with tomatoes/onions or leek/tenderstem broccoli. Easy to prep and not long in oven until puffed and golden. Lovely on its own or cold next day with salad!

Can I just ask? So a square or round of puff pastry, add the pesto and veg toppings and bung in a hot oven?

Last nights tea was pretty perfect - honey bbq pulled pork on brioche rolls served with homemade salt, pepper & chilli flake wedges and a feta & tomato salad!

Yes that's all there is too it! You can get a block of pastry or the ready rolled stuff, it's so easy. I like red onion and pepper and mozzarella but you could do any combo really

There's a wonderful courgette filo pie in the Nigella domestic goddess book - the filling has rice and chickpeas as well as courgettes and is devious on its own but really fabulous in the pie. Best use of homegrown courgettes!

Picnic buffet where everyone can choose their faves - quiche, naice rolls, cheese, ham, salad, etc. And Eton Mess for pudding!

Chicken kebabs (marinated in yoghurt with soy ginger and paprika overnight) chopped veg and dips, egg and cress sandwiches, and a stir fry with seasonal veg, chicken and a lovely soy honey and ginger sauce

Chicken and Mango salad., coronation chicken, filled pittas (salad and cheese) cheese and tomato quiche, strawberry cheesecake

Too many to choose, it's all about vibrant ingredients!

My rabble enjoy tacos in the sunshine, perfect for casual, chatty dinner times!
