NOW CLOSED

It’s no secret that kitchens house potentially dangerous items that are intriguing to a toddler set on exploring. With this in mind, Fairy Non Bio would like to find out how you fare at spotting hazards in the kitchen. Take this quiz to find out and share how you get on below.

Here’s what Fairy Non Bio has to say: “There is nothing more special than watching your little one take their first steps or hearing them say their first words. These incredible moments will stay with us as parents forever but with them come new things to watch out for. As little explorers grow and begin discovering the world, the risks around them change, too. For Fairy Non Bio, we want to spread the word to keep your laundry detergents safely away from little hands. Click close lids, store products up high and be aware of where your child is when you are doing the washing.”

Whether you can spot hazards without thinking or need to brush up on your safety skills, share your score below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

6/7 for me too, some had multiple hazards. Not sure it really educated me

modzy78 · 30/12/2018 00:14

7/7. I work in a nursery, so I'd hope I could find hazards easily. Though there were some pictures that had multiple hazards. Like the heavy pot sticking over the counter edge next to the wine glass. And the door to the garden, if it's not locked.

myhamsteratefreddiestarr · 30/12/2018 01:34

6 as I thought the pan more dangerous than the wine glass. All pretty obvious though.

wheretoyougonow · 30/12/2018 01:40

7/7. Even though my children are a bit older now I still do things automatically like use the back burner on the hob!

strawberrypenguin · 30/12/2018 08:16

6/7 I clicked the wine in the last image. All pretty straight forward hazards and things I'd naturally watch for.

pandoraskids · 30/12/2018 10:02

2/7 as I'm very slow on a keyboard

jazzitup · 30/12/2018 10:28

7/7 go me lol x

minisoksmakehardwork · 30/12/2018 11:24

7/7. But I agree that some had multiple hazards in one picture so I don't feel the 'test' was particularly accurate or helpful. Especially if you might not have realised that a + b = a bigger hazard.

I think far better to have one image with multiple hazards to tap on. When dd1 did a secondary school visit they set up the home ec kitchen as one massive hazard spot. Much more effective as you then look at the whole picture. Eg naked flame plus boiling pan with handle turned out. All 3 are a hazard.

piperatthegates · 30/12/2018 11:33

6/7 for me - clicked the hanging tea towel instead of the open grill for some bizarre reason.

SheenaBatey · 30/12/2018 12:26

Seven out of seven but you made it quite easy

galadrial · 30/12/2018 12:34

7 out of 7, just common sense, but there was also another hazard ther by leaving the stool in a great place for little ones to climb up to the bread knife.

jaibaby · 30/12/2018 14:33

7/7, but as others have said, it's basic common sense. I've always taught the kids from a young age about the dangers of the kitchen instead of just ushering them out of it. The kitchen is a great place to do family stuff together if you do it right.

powkin · 30/12/2018 14:56

7/7 - phew.

nonnyno · 30/12/2018 14:56

7/7 all quite obvious.

avery64 · 30/12/2018 15:51

6/7 mainly common sense but I think there should have been only one hazard per page.

SerenaVanDerWoodsen · 30/12/2018 17:08

6 out of 7 - the final one got me as I thought it was the pan initially. Then my thumb missed the glass a few times Blush

gremlintrees · 30/12/2018 17:27

I got 7/7 but on the second go, as I originaly thought a protruding handle more of a H&S issue than a flame under a pan on a gas stove. I find a gas flame safer than a hot ring which unless you use a hob cover can retain heat but un-noticed once it is no longer red and therefore constitute a possible hazzard. Just sayin' :0)

ang65t · 30/12/2018 17:38

I got 6 not bad

mutleythegooner · 30/12/2018 18:46

7/7, its common sense really.

Dottydoodoo · 30/12/2018 19:08

6/7 Blush

Ran out of time on the one with the grill!!

Tutu81 · 30/12/2018 20:13

I only got 5/7!!!!! Tut tut, I should've done better than that Blush

helenlt · 30/12/2018 20:15

7/7 (plus a couple of others)!

myusername12345 · 30/12/2018 20:18

7/7 - so many things to be on the lookout for all the time, no wonder each day is exhausting!

Jaderice21 · 30/12/2018 20:35

6 for me didnt get the wine glass one as pan didnt look safe either

BGcat14 · 30/12/2018 21:22

I got 5 - I was overthinking it and forgot the timer! Whoops. Always good to refresh.
