For many of us when we see or a hear a reference to a toy from our childhood, we are immediately transported by to a specific time when we were younger playing with that toy...queue all the nostalgic feelings. BRIO would love to know all the toys that give you that nostalgic feeling and what it is about them that makes you feel that way.

Here’s what BRIO have to say: “We just turned 130, yet we feel more vital than ever. And that’s a good thing when working with toys. Because just as play develops children, play has developed us as a company. Smart Tech is the latest integrated technology from BRIO which is adding extra layers of functionality and play value to our timeless toys. The Smart Tech trains can stop, turn around, go slower or go faster using the accessories that are in the range, bringing even more magic to the BRIO World. In a world full of technology and computers, traditional play is at the core of what we do at BRIO. Our Smart Tech range combines clever train technology with traditional play patterns, meaning as parents you don’t need to feel nostalgic for those classic toys as they’re at the heart of everything we do.”

Watch this video on the BRIO Smart tech Engine with Action Tunnel Set:

Is it the Troll Dolls that make you feel nostalgic as you remember spending hours styling their bright pink hair? Perhaps seeing your DC talking to imaginary people on your phone makes you remember you doing the same on your Chatter Telephone? Did you think of yourself as a highly-skilled chef with your Easy-Bake Oven? Would you just spend hours drawing out things on your Etch A Sketch? Or is it good old Play-Doh that always make you feel nostalgic whenever your child plays with it?

Whichever toys make you feel nostalgic, share them on the thread below and everyone who comments will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher of their choice (from a list) and another four MNers will win a BRIO Smart Tech Engine Set with Action Tunnels, worth £89.95 each.

Thanks and good luck.

Most 80's and 90's toys, like Lego, Barbies, My Little Pony, Sylvanian Families. Though my favourite thing to do was draw, so crayons, pencils and felt tip pens make me feel the most nostalgic.

I used to love playing with Fuzzy Felts as a child. I also had a Sindy doll but my Mum threw her away when her arm snapped off because she couldn't do the gymnastic move I made her do!! Sad

Whenever I see a picture of this toy it transports me back 30 year...desperately wish I still had it for my own children!

MAForster · 21/10/2018 16:04

Definitely the Lego

Minnibix · 21/10/2018 16:22

I loved my bike, there were always places to ride a group of us would spend hours out riding. The roads were a lot quieter and there were also lots of open ground to ride in, not like today

Compgirl87 · 21/10/2018 16:32

I absolutely loved the big red fun bus. I think it was the only toy I ever had that I'd seen on the TV, asked for and got! Smile

katieskatie82 · 21/10/2018 16:36

for me it has to be Trolls. I had a huge collection of them and remember saving up all of my pocket money to buy one that has Rainbow hair!!

APJ1 · 21/10/2018 16:48

Thomas the Tank Engine toys, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles figures and Sylvanian Families playsets.

kacky · 21/10/2018 16:50

Pick up Sticks and twister remind me of many a rainy day inside in the 60’s & 70’s every other minute was spent outside playing with a ball against the wall of our house.

tamalyn1 · 21/10/2018 16:51

sarah861421 · 21/10/2018 17:38

Lego and sindy. My dad used to make me loads of sindy furniture and an elderly aunt used to make her clothes.

Leiajulie · 21/10/2018 17:57

RhubarbAndCustards · 21/10/2018 18:04

So many... the Fisher Price record player with multi coloured records to play, Tiny Tears, Kerplunk, my lull along wooden dog with springy tale!

glennamy · 21/10/2018 18:04

The one I loved the most was Kerplunk... Never got tired of playing it!

garytopley1 · 21/10/2018 18:27

Has to be weebles. 'Weebles wobble but they don't fall down'.

gd2011 · 21/10/2018 18:28

Action Man and Tonka Toys.

cheesefield · 21/10/2018 18:46

Oh, Mr Frosty! God I miss him, I wonder if it's still in my parents loft.

towser44 · 21/10/2018 18:53

Scalextric, Subbuteo and The I-Spy Books are the things that make feel nostalgic!

feefeegabor · 21/10/2018 18:55

I absolutely loved my Sindy with her horse and stables. I used to spend hours making the horse jump over the ramps. I bought a barbie and a horse for my daughter but she was more content with having it pull a princess carriage.
