NOW CLOSED

Being chief decision-maker comes with the territory when you’re a parent - but sometimes the best way to go is not so clear cut. Take our quiz to find out how your decisions following common parenting conundrums align with those of other users’.

Here’s what O2 have to say: “#IsItAlright to let them use a tablet at breakfast? We hear you. Parenting is full of #IsItAlright questions, challenges and dilemmas. That’s why we’ve launched O2 Family, to bring advice, safety tools and kid-friendly offers to parents across the UK. We don’t pretend to have all the answers. But hopefully we make it a little easier to navigate the everyday messy magic of family life."

Whether you turn to the TV when things get tough, choose to embrace your child’s creativity no matter how questionable it may be or you find bargaining with your children the best way to get things done, take the quiz here and share any results that surprise you (or your own parenting conundrums) below.

All who post below will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

I'm surprised to see I was average

SouthWestmom · 23/09/2018 20:00

So I'm a bit more lax than some of you.... 😂

kaizen99 · 23/09/2018 20:28

Reassured that I am doing alright! haha

ninamotylinski · 23/09/2018 20:40

I am mostly the same as the majority, My downfall was putting on the tv in the holidays ! Nobody's perfect!

CGORST · 23/09/2018 20:48

I'm more or less average except for the school holiday one. I didn't have an itinerary when I was growing up. The TV was on but then I made my own entertainment, jigsaws, crafts etc. so I don't think boredom is a bad thing really, it just makes you more inventive!

IKnowWhenThatHotlineBling · 23/09/2018 20:53

I was surprised with the clothing conundrum - surprised that many children rule the roost. If im going to a special event, my child will wear what i want them to, no question!

Flamingdinosaur · 23/09/2018 20:54

I'm quite surprised that I differed on a few questions. Then again, my child is still a baby - I've obviously got a lot to learn.

ribtickler · 23/09/2018 20:56

Yep....I’m an average parent....thanks goodness!!

seeingdouble2 · 23/09/2018 20:59

Great quiz, I seem to parent like a lot of other parents which makes me feel happier I am doing the best I can.

sm2012 · 23/09/2018 21:04

I found I agreed with most other people! Might have something to do with the fact I've got three children. I'm definitely more confident with my third than I was with my first especially as there's quite an age gap.

madge47 · 23/09/2018 21:08

I seem to be with the majority which I dont mind

Funkyferret · 23/09/2018 21:14

I was a bit all over the place from most to least popular with my answers. I suspect it may be down to the battles I have picked and those I have not!

helly01pbo · 23/09/2018 21:16

I was surprised at the amount of households that do puddings! We're a pudding free household!

victory89 · 23/09/2018 21:16

I like to think I be reasonable in most of the situations but until your in them you really don't know.

ziggy2407 · 23/09/2018 21:23

Surprised at just how average I am, there are some things I wont compromise on but others no qualms at all. I believe in the mantra "tomorrow is another day" and just deal with whatever comes my way

RACHELSMITH45 · 23/09/2018 21:28

Reassuring in a way and seems I must be quite normal?!! Always thought I was slightly OTT sometimes !

jcyclops · 23/09/2018 21:38

The bedtime one made me smile. It's the only time that the little darlings will converse on the phone with grandparents/aunts/uncles saying more than just "Hello!"

pfcpompeysarah · 23/09/2018 21:41

Hmm, it turns out I might be a bit of a pushover on some issues, anything for a bit of peace as a single mum though!!

glennamy · 23/09/2018 21:42

I am a bit of a pushover but I think you need to pick your battles :)

lhlee62 · 23/09/2018 21:46

This made me LOL as I literally just purchased a violin for my 6 yr old and so far we have endured 2 days of screeching! I went for the earplug option or I just leave her with DH and take the dog for a walk!!

beckyinman · 23/09/2018 21:56

Reassuringly normal!

lolamia91 · 23/09/2018 22:11

rather reassuring i should have just let them dress as a pirate though

Rachdayan · 23/09/2018 22:40

Looks like i'm with the majority most of the way which is comforting to know are all in the same boat.

Lindseymorris29 · 23/09/2018 22:47

I am not great at the routine stuff, but I do get the results when they are required, even if it takes me several hours!!!

babs2209 · 23/09/2018 22:48

done - I don't like green peas either :)
