Great family films are often passed down through generations and not only do the films themselves bring great memories but also the memorable characters. Coming together to watch a film as a family can be a great way to spend time with your loved ones. Prime Video would love to know what your family films are and why?

Here’s what Prime Video have to say: “The smash hit family film Paddington 2 has just been added to Prime Video, joining thousands of great movies and TV shows the whole family can enjoy. Paddington 2 sees the loveable bear settled into life with the Brown Family and starting to do some odd jobs so he can buy Aunt Lucie a birthday present. Before he can get it, the gift is stolen by a master thief and Paddington is the suspect.”

“To celebrate, we want to hear what classics you watch with your kids. Prime Video has many to enjoy including Yogi Bear, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Alvin and the Chipmunks, The Gruffalo, Casper, The Wizard of Oz, Nanny McPhee, E.T, Beethoven, Tom and Jerry, Pingu, Thomas and Friends, Scooby-Doo, Kung-Fu Panda and Shaun The Sheep.”

What do you enjoy watching with your whole family? Do you go for the classic such as ET and The Wizard of Oz or do you prefer the new films such as Kung Fu Panda? Or maybe your family has a staple film that you all watch on special occasions?

Whatever your favourite films are to watch as a family, share them on the thread below to be entered into a prize draw to win 1 of 3 Amazon Fire Kids Edition Tablets, made just for kids.

Thanks and good luck

My boys love the labyrinth, it doesn't seem to age. They giggle at the bog of eternal stench, long to hug ludo and love the soundtrack. It feels lovely seeing them love a film that I remember seeing at the cinema as a child and being enchanted by. They also have a younger baby brother that wasn't great at sleeping so occasionally will call, the goblin king to take him away! Luckily as yet he's been too busy.

We have loved watching the shrek and toy story films as a family. Recently we enjoyed the new live action Disney remakes of Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast. Now my DC are a little older have introduced them to some of my favourite childhood films like matilda and mary poppins

Bez33 · 18/07/2018 09:58

DS4 loves everything about Charlie and the chocolate factory- with Johnny Depp - but especially the songs sung by the Oompa Loompas. He does all the actions, and we have to repeat them at least 3 times each 😂

My elder dd (11) hates most films because they are too scary/stressful for her but my younger dd (nearly 9) loves a good film. She likes:
Matilda; Labyrinth; Jessica Darling's It List; Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory (or whatever it's called - the old one); Despicable Me; Sing!; Pets At Home. My elder DD does like the Peanuts Movie.
My younger one also loves Mean Girls and Legally Blonde but I don't think they are technically family films. Blush

AlfieandAnnieRose · 18/07/2018 14:07

My little one loves Rio at the moment so we’ve watched it quite a few times. He also enjoys Despicable Me and Sing.
He’s only just started to watch and enjoy films so Im looking forward to showing him all the Disney classics, such as Jungle Book and Bedknobs and broomsticks!

busymummy0411 · 18/07/2018 15:22

It would have been something by Disney when the children were small, now usually Harry Potter or Star Wars.

Sierra259 · 18/07/2018 18:21

Moana and Paddington are definitely favourites here, along with Minions. We watched The Incredibles last weekend in preparation for seeing Incredibles 2 over the summer. DC1's favourite of all time though is Wall-E!
